Not IG followers that matters, it's how she is being sidelined after the success of these 2 dramas, all focus…
No, it's not "how industry is", I already told about it in my first comment. I wrote dramas where female leads got more recognition, and I explained my opinion about it. Exactly! Kim Hye Yoon need project where she can shine herself. I guess drama where she plays Gumiho can be like that, as people love such characters. Hotel del luna has similar female character, and IU got recognition for that drama.
a 30+ passing as a highschool student is pusshing it. no matter how handsome he is.
Yim Si Wan played a high schooler in 80s setting in Boyhood last year, and he somehow managed to look convincible (and hilarious) on this. But his character wasn't handsome
TBH even if the costs weren't already way too high for anything in cinema, there is absolutely nothing (running…
I already named good examples of remakes for both, western and korean remakes. World of married, Mother, Flexxcop as korean remakes, Good doctor as western remake of korean drama. Drama Black out is adaptation of german novel. Of course, not all remakes are good, but not all of them are bad. I'm not sure cloy remake will be good, just defending existence of remakes 😄 "But uggggh, yeah, that mindset of "let's turn EVERY little thing into a franchise" is killing me. And it's killing off everything original - how many times can you save the world from destruction over and over and over again?! GAH! And that's why I don't watch any more superhero movies." +++
You know there wouldn’t be this many arguments if they had just chosen… quite literally, ANY other drama ?This…
Studio dragon, korean production company of original drama, co-producers of remake. No one changing the plot of original drama, so it's not a threat to cultural appropriation of koreans. If they changing the geography in remake drama, it's not a threat to a cultural appropriation either. Anyway, we don't know how they will change this part of the plot, we know nothing about the plot, so why did you decide this is a "poor copy"? If we will get some info which will admit your words I'll agree with you. But now there's no reason to criticise that drama as we know nothing about the plot.

Sorry for sounding rude, but your second paragraph like a drama queen. I didn't see any arguments except people saying about North and South Korea. I'm wondering how they will change that topic and will portray the conflict. Not sure they will do it good, but to predict they for 100% will do it bad is just overemotional CLOY fans statement. I remember how some CLOY fans throwed a huge tantrum here, when QOT surpassed CLOY in ratings. Maybe they're just choose negatively reacting on everything related to their fav drama.

Wow, that experience is pretty bad, I wouldn't go in such theaters too. Well, America already did remake of korean successful drama Good doctor, and this show is successful. Turkey did remake of korean movie Always, and this movie was good too. Some asian countries doing remakes of korean dramas, as Filipino doing remake of It's Okay to Not Be Okay . Korea itself making remakes of western and japanese dramas for a long time (the most popular cable channel drama World of married is remake), so remake doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Sometimes they re-writting plot suits for Korea, as Flexxcop with Anh Bo Hyun is a remake of russian show Silver spoon, and they changed some important parts in the plot. Lee Bo Young past drama Mother is a japan remake, her future drama Mary kills people is canadian remake. I don't think fans of japan or canadian dramas throwing a tantrums after seeing news about remake, so I can't understand why korean drama fans so histerical about remakes, no one forcing you to watch this. But if you're talking about new trend to make remake, sequel, prequel, franchise etc for every popular thing, I don't love this too, and producers rarely filming any good thing by producing that. Even audience don't like it, so I don't know why they're keep going. For remake of CLOY, I'm not so much into original drama, not to say about remake, but Studio dragon a co-producer, and I'm interested to know that they'll made up and how will change the plot.

I weren't in cinema for a while, but mostly because I don't have interest to watch movies, dramas, shows etc right now. But if I have a choice to watch movie at the cinema or at home, I'll watch it at the cinema. I don't have such experience with unpleasant watchers, I always going on cinema with my best friend, atmosphere is warm and comfortable. And when I'm going alone no matter if theater has many people or not atmosphere is comfortable too. The only time it was uncomfortable when I went to watch cartoon, and theater had many loud kids on their seats. I remember watching Bohemian Rhapsody in a booked theater, I sitted next to a man with a bottle of a beer. For whole movie he just silently drink his beer and shaked his leg in a ritm of the songs, and he and me sitted on our places when lights were on and film ended, to watch subtitles, lol.
I am sorry to hear he's ill. I hope he finds a cure!I just don't understand one thing, why would he apologize…
It's not only koreans, actor who played Joffrey in Game of Thrones left acting after this role, he got huge amount of hate for his character. Other actor who played a Criston Cole in House of dragons many years later closed comment section in his insta because of hate comments he got for his character. Such people live around the world. Some people really weird, they can't separate real life and fictional drama.
Not people in comment section crying about remakes of korean dramas, when korean dramas remakes western, european and japanese shows now and before. More than that, some korean dramas already got western remake, like show Good Doctor. No one forcing you to watch it, remakes is one of the possibility for production companies to have profit from dramas. In this article SD said "Drama production costs have nearly doubled compared to pre-pandemic levels, and advertising sales, our main source of revenue, are falling. To offset the decreasing profitability, we are focusing on overseas sales". It's funny to read how people angry at Studio Dragon CEO for wanting to make more money. Of course he will, he's businessman. They creating dramas to make profit from them at the first place, not just for the art. Do you think your favs don't want to make more money by their work? But I guess some people didn't read whole article, as they're talking only about CLOY. I'm more interested not in CLOY remake, but in: "KCEO Jang analyzed, "The domestic drama market will shift from a competition in quantity to a competition in quality content," and revealed plans to "take this as an opportunity to improve the quality of K-dramas by focusing on good [script] materials, direction, and acting. We also plan to increase projects that boldly employ new creators and rising actors." and "We will create a virtuous cycle where talented creators can realize their dreams of [making whatever] content [they wish] and expand globally together." I'm interested that they'll do.

After pandemic time some really good movies aired. Gentlemans, Ford against Ferrari, I rewatched it 3 times. And you know what, both these movies weren't paid off by theatre audience. Probably because people don't check movies without high paid promotion. So how do you expect good not superhero movie to air, when people dgaf about them. The audience baits on high PR, which some production companies just can't afford.
I wonder who will play Asura. I want to see Park Sung Hoon as a villain (yes, again). I think he would look good as "the king of demons", but unfortunately seems he tired to play bad guys
Han So Hee were good in My name, where all other cast were male actors. Actually, I think such dramas suits for her more than romance dramas. Lee Joo Ben didn't film in any male centric drama before, so we'll know when we'll see
I mean how can they handle 12 main leads with only 8 episodes
Squid game handled many characters and their stories with 8 episodes. Moving and Hospital playlist also did that (although with more episodes), so with good writing they can handle it. I think, it's not like actors suppose to be the center main leads, but all people in the cast can play important part in the plot (and some of them can die in first episode)
