This show is so clever and layered.Yes, our main couple is keeping secrets from the other and, as of recent eps,…
I agree with your conclusion but not with all the premises you've exposed to reach that conclusion. 1. I think we can all agree with your last statement, that we enjoy this "Mr and Mrs Smith in costume, but 10x better". Just kidding. 😉I've meant the statement before "they’re both cats trying to catch a mouse". Indeed, they both have their own agendas. They like each other (the mutual attraction was there even when she walked out from the bandits' den) but even more, they NEED each other. He needed her to recover his injuries and memory, to hide from the corrupted officials who tried to kill him and still needs to stay in her place in order to find "the missing wife", retrial the case and gets his reward from the emperor. She needs him too, maybe even more badly. Not just to catch a knife and kill the person who just kept that knife under her throat or to protect her annoying cousin, keep her suitors and other annoying people in general at bay, cheer her up when she is in a bad mood, be an acting husband, respect her right to have her own secrets and ways in dealing with issues, respect her as a human being in general (women's needs are more complicated in general), but above all - she needs him to help her clean the mess in her house, a task no other man except ML can help with. And this need is the reason why she was ready to pick him as her "husband" during the tea tree ceremony and was stopped only when she saw bead bracelet in Yang bull's hand.
2. Now, let's see the part I disagree with. You've said he knows her enough bc also knows "her mercy, honor and kindness" referring to "her willingness to take on and nurse back to health someone who was her family’s perceived enemy at the time". He wasn't her family's enemy (her family just didn't give a sh*t to account to some unknown official about their relations with the "missing wife"). As for her kindness towards him, we just presume she just felt a bit of compassion in the moment he grabed her coat and pleaded to save him. That's probably what we would have done, but RSB is not us, we are unable to scheme or use persons like she does or be "10 steps ahead" as you've said. The only fact that we know is: SHE KNEW WHO HE WAS when she saved him and that in that moment she didn't know he lost his memories. And what if she saved him EXACTLY because he was the official she already knew as upright (bc she saved her from the bandits' den) and who was highly probably in charge of investigating the "missing wife case" (for which other reason would such a high official be pushed down from the cliff?)? That identity (of an upright official) combined with the fact corrupted officials attempted to his life and the fact she saved his life can be put to a good use. His memory loss was a small complication along the way to put her plan in practice, but what I've wanted to point out is that the drama gave us more reasons to believe it was his "potential use" and not her compassion the main reason why she saved him. She wants him to restore his memory and contacts, that's why she didn't even check the message he sent to his mentor.
3. I agree with you they both keep their secrets and are still a bit wary of each other but this is exactly how all romances start in reality. I usually disdain romances in dramas ff-arding romantic scenes stupidly enforced in dramas I like but I haven't done such a thing here and like a lot how their relationship is developing in this drama. We, both men and women, are not eager to reveal our secrets when we start a romantic relationship, we prefer to test the potential partner before we reveal him/her smth and we all like to have "an upper hand" before we are sure the potential partner will truly help us with an issue that bothers us. This is exactly their situation. She hides Mrs Yang's secret because she wants to be sure they'll solve Mrs Yang's situation in coordination with each other when the time is ripe. And exactly like her, we are honest and share the truths we can share (as she shared the truth about the tea bone with him and is generally honest), now is the ML's turn, as he is regaining his memories.
So, yes, she fell first (logical, she knows who he is and what's the situation and environment) but he fell harder (also logical, he wasn't completely aware who he was and what's the situation they are all in).
I dont get why they kept he xingming around even after he tried to poison the wells to the tea plantation and…
He officialy proposed, presenting the gifts, to marry the blind sis at the tea tree worship ceremony. He came to the mansion "to end the enmities between the Rongs and the Hes" which would be considered ended with an intermarriage of two families. That's why he remained around
I wonder how Yan knew that He was the murderer. His reaction on that scene tells me something I cannot understand.
He was a bad guy in general, a psycho. Yan knew He didn't stay in the mansion bc of his proposal to the blind sis after he posioned the well bc Yan was present when the blind sis said he was secretly meeting 2nd sis. The Monk is smart and can easily connect the dots: He was plotting smth with 2nd sis. No way the two would meet for romantic purposes, bc Yunxi was after him before and he knew she wanted him only bc he was chosen by the old lady, she would never take someone the grandma wouldn't like (He family are Rong's enemies). The monk also saw the scholar entering He's chamber for dinner the previous evening. Hearing smth bad happened, then Bai being taken by the guards and satisfied expression on He's face... that's the most plausible reason for his reaction.
This is my current guess, end of ep 151. ML cannot be prince or anything, otherwise he can never become son-in-law…
Re: Missing wife case. Mrs Yang Lan, aka nanny Liang is supposed to be dead, not missing. She was abused by her husband and his Wei family but never helped by her original family, in particular her bro we've seen in the latest eps. They've expected her to be killed by the Weis in order to ask them for a compensation for her life. So, she decided to escape asking a friend (RSB's mom) to give her shelter, that's how she became Wanwan's nanny. But the Yangs couldn't easily give up on the idea of compensation, so, when Wei came to their door asking to give him back his wife, they've accused him of murdering her. They've picked some random bones, bribed someone to confirm it was Mrs Yang and Wei finished in prison for murder based on that fabricated evidence, while Yangs won the compensation case consisting in Wei's tea plantations (with help of some higher official, probably the fatty prefect Xu who hid/destroyed a report of a coroner stating the bones actually belonged to a male, so they can't be the evidence of Mrs Yang's murder/death). Before Wei committed suicide in prison, he wrote a blood letter of his innocence and the emperor decided to retrial the whole case. So, if Mrs Yang is ever found alive and kickin' as she is, the very fact would bring down the entire Yang family (that's why RSB said to the bull the truth would damage more the Yangs than the Rongs), not only in terms of plantations they've injustly received, but they'll be guilty of deception together with the high official(s) they've bribed in the process. She is like a time bomb for the Yangs.
Your comment was so funny, I laughed a lot. Now I'll play a serious investigator, just to recap Yang bull's murder…
You're right, but she decided to throw herself over LJL that night later. It wasn't a decision, she acted on a whim when she saw the shape of the person she was disgusted with behind the door. She didn't want to face and fight that brute... and exactly bc he felt she wasn't in the right state of mind, LJL refused to make love with her. Yeah, now we know he won't escape that thing so easily, she moved him into her chamber... 🤦♀️
OMG—WAIT GIIIRL WHOOO??Drop the NAME....lol... Spoil it...Let me see if my brain is connecting the right dots…
Oh, sorry, I've thought my post with spoiler tag passed through, lol. There's one guy I've never suspected bc I've confused the "day of the wedding night" (pls. excuse this contradictio in adiecto) with the day on the plantation (when RSB avoided to get into the coach together with the Monk and butler Cheng and returned with "injured" LJL, sending butler Cheng to LJL's chamber/courtyard in order to help him with his leg). On the day of her wedding night, she was out with LJL, officially "checking on a ditch", ie. having her sweet time on a boat with ML after he helped her escape watching the scene of her husband-to-be moving into her chamber with his things and servants. That's why I've thought there were only her own and Yang family's servants in her courtyard. I've excluded the chief maid Mrs Yan as a killer, bc. the old lady Rong wouldn't order her to kill him in RBS's premises. She was in RBS's courtyard asking for RBS to have dinner with the old lady. Butler Cheng was with her in that moment. He is head over heels for RBS, he could stand someone "noble" like the Monk with hair marries his "queen" but not that brute Yang who was evidently blackmailing her. So, he had the motivation and the opportunity (for him, it's a piece of cake to invent a pretext - eg. to take an account book - to enter the chamber and put some poision into the wine). The only problem with this: he didn't know about the bracelet. When RSB chose Yang, he was standing too far away to see what Yang was holding.
As He psycho didn't take it, either, this missing bracelet is probably in the hands of the person who poisoned him. Before, I've thought it was Yang the Sneaky Twin, who had the motivation (to get rid of the more successful bro), the opportunity to enter and get out of the mansion and courtyard with that identic face or even to order the family servants around his bro from remote to put either a poison or smth else the bro was intollerant of in his drink. But now it seems he neither wanted to marry RSB nor he knew about the bracelet, only the old Yang knew it.
So, whoever of the two (Cheng or Yang the twin/servant at his orders) poisoned the bull, it's highly probable there was another person who took the beads before He entered into the room
Anyone else thinks that it was really the twin of Yang Ding Chen who is the true murderer? Because that snake…
Nope, He didn't know she wasn't in the room. He probably wouldn't kill her, maybe he wouldn't kill the bull either, he entered to spoil their wedding night. He gave him a coup de grace with a candlestick, maybe he wasn't even armed
Guys do you think grandma was the person that poisoned Mr. Yang? Like Lady Tyrell and the purple wedding in Game…
Whoever poisoned him must have had some connections with Yang family servants, bc RSB's servants were all withdrawn from that courtyard. Grandma didn't know RSB would spend the night with Lu, she would never risk poisoning her own granddaughter together with that bull. Only Yangs' and RSB's servants knew he was allone in the bedchamber, but only the first could have served him. Who can give orders to servants from the Yang family? Either his uncle or his twin, right?
this is why she's not fit to be head of the rong family. she's too shortsighted. this is what happens when you…
we know she isn't fit from the start, when she hired bandits to steel the tea from FL not knowing they were abducting women from plantation and the FL ended up abducted as well. She isn't fit bc she is envious, viscious and hypocrite and lacks an outstanding knowledge of tea. But we never percieved her as dumb, she was a rival whose path was smooth because grandma never seriously punished her misdoings and boosts her jealousy in order to have a leverage over the FL. But she was still a rival and a top schemer we've feared. The explanation we've got today for her collusion with family's enemy re-dimensioned her, dumbed her down.
Today's eps were anticlimatic with details of dubious logic here and there: for the first time since the drama started I had to suspend disbelief. It looks like the writer expects from us to condone Yunxi as she was unaware He was planning to kill her cousin. If this is the case, we all overestimated Yunxi's intelligence. Not being aware of how dangerous this psycho was and colluding with such a person, a family enemy, "just to frighten" (as she said) a vulnerable girl makes Yunxi plain dumb. As a dumb person is no match for a smart FL, their rivalry (which raised the tension and our interest in the story) will feel... downgraded, watered, from now on. I suppose our interest will shift towards ML's background story, friends and enemies, which actually isn't a bad idea, we need to go out and breath a different air from the one in the stuffy Rong mansion.
Anyone else thinks that it was really the twin of Yang Ding Chen who is the true murderer? Because that snake…
Twin bro was my n°1 sus, He was 2nd. So, yes. But their targets were different. Twin bro knew RSB wasn't in the chamber, so his target was Yang bull, while He wanted them both dead.
I honestly feel a bit bad that after 10 episodes I still feel nothing 😕 I’m really trying to continue, but…
The FL is a hard working woman, a breadwinner of her family. She is stressed by her working burdens and family responsibilities, exausted by her siblings playing a game of thrones and her granny's constant pressure. Yes, that's exausting so no wonder even a beautiful actress will look exausted and worn out when playing such a role, it isn't a fault of the make up department, this is how we all look like (even worse) after being so stressed and pressured. If you look better in such conditions, send us a photo That's why we root for her. If you watched 10 eps and still feel nothing, then it's better you drop it, this drama isn't for you
Ep 12 - it seriously feels like FL planned the murder1. Her going out and everything that followed did not seem…
Your comment was so funny, I laughed a lot. Now I'll play a serious investigator, just to recap Yang bull's murder and how the FL really felt following your track
1. She went out to forget the bull in the ancient hall where he even kissed her and she felt so sullied 2. Fireworks were the precise moment in which she was feeling weak staying close to ML but feeling it would be wrong to involve him further in her problems, she felt that man (ML) did so much to cheer her up that afternoon (he even got her rid of the monk with hair her granny chose as her mate/husband) and evening, involving him further just didn't seem right 3. Not spending the night with a person who blackmailed her and offended her family and her personal dignity was the only thing she could have thought in the moment she saw his shadow on the door. She felt enraged. If she stepped into that room she could even commit a murder. Better no, she thought, lets spend this night in someone else's room humiliating him and showing him a Rong woman does whatever she wants. 4. Nanny is a person FL's mom decided to shelter. By threatening to expose this fact, FL agreed to marry the bull despite the fact such a thing would damage more the bull's family than the Rongs. The bull wasn't a person to be reasoned with. He wanted the FL (I don't blame him for that) very badly and was joicing at the very thought he'll possess her with this pressure. If I were the FL, I'd certainly kill him, bc I don't stand any kind of pressure or threat, but the FL is constantly under pressure and threat and somehow more used to it. Wanwan would have been the last of my thoughts but somehow FL retained her cool and managed to arrange persons looking after her. The person in charge the night WW went out slept on duty and successively was even blackmailed and bought with a pearl pin by the evil cousin and lured WW to her killer. 5. When FL decided to use the plates with butterfly motives, she never expected evil sisters would involve and expose a mentally impaired sis publicly. It was an unfortunate coincidence they've brought WW to show to the outsiders the one who possesses "tea bone" is WW, while they all know it's just the legend and the FL simply knows more things about tea than they do. The sisters and bro who is dumb enough to serve other people's interests indeed worked hard to ruin the family's reputation. That's why the grandma harshly reproached evil sisters and severely punished the stupid bro who takes their punishment as well for habit bc he is out of the game of thrones for the simple fact he's a male. 6. Being not mentally stable, WW is a perfect scapegoat to kill a big man like dead guy. So, WanWan becomes the only suspect but an impossible suspect (I finally found the phrase I can repeat!) We are so in sync, lol! 7. And this point too, I'll repeat it: "If we know what that bead bracelate means and what scandal is it hiding then we will know if this murder was so worth for FL or not.. ELSE FL did not do it and it just might be as she guessed... a plan to kill her on her wedding night " I also think like you do: where are the fu***ng beads? They are not with the FL, who was the real target that night
Blind girl - you "don't understand her angle" but I agree with "She definitely fell in love with the scholar guy and is crafting her way to get to be with him" and I also feel she "would want the tea estate to herself..." that's why He-Yunxi plan to make the scholar guy the scapegoat of their (unsuccessful) murder won't work and why WW is still alive. 😀
I've found it, thank you very much. To me, it doesn't look like the same candlestick. The one left by that Song boytoy had side handles and couldn't be grasped in that way, while the one used to kill was shown in a firm killer's grip. Besides, the one stolen by boytoy remained in Mrs Yan's room, while the killer had a man's hand
Yunxi is a He's ally. She discovered (actually unruly sis discovered and then told Yunxi) the shoe print belonged…
Yes, there's no doubt he is. An unpredictable and dangerous. When he says "I concede a defeat", we can safely bet all our money he will strike back tenfolds. He is unable to accept a defeat, a psycho.
She is a concubine's daughter and acts like a servant of Yunxi. In the game of thrones in this story, her chances…
she isn't clever enough to invent her own schemes but actively participate in Yunxi's schemes. She helped her to blackmail SB's maid so the latter can lure Wanwan to her killer. Far from innocent...
