Would’ve been best to simply avoid including all of the above and not make the script so stupidly messy.
I agree, scripts for dramas lately are definitely messy, stupidly messy

All fine, I understand why you've thought it was a spoiler.

These side details are not spoilers, they don't reveal anything regarding the plot, so the spoiler tag is unnecessary 🤓

Title Kill Me Love Me Spoiler
A stone quarry that looks like a mine, full of tunnels adorned with scented insect repellents, international trade deal based on the sale of those scented sachets, a "baby" kicking (fetus without limbs) one month from conception...
I understand the production's need to stretch the story which reached its climax at ep 24 to 32 eps, but this bunch of nonsense in just one episode is pretty annoying...

I haven't read the book.
You are right about undying flowers, Memorable Leitmotiv of FL's resistence and why he fell for her.
Glad we both think higly of the actors professional skills. Wu Jin Yan is also (above average) capable actress imho

I agree with your opinion, too. Princess Agents had flows, but had so many memorable scenes (neither I will ever forget that human hunting opening, fight with wolves, death of curly girl, insane training with arrows and advance in slave-carrier, the ballet-like fight, the streap fight in the bath pool that finished in bed, killing of evil uncle Yuwen, SML initial humour, pain and transformation, king's hypocrisy... whole that cruel world). Its main flow was - it was too long, so too many people were cast and with such a huge crew it was inevitable that acting of some supporting actors was not up to the level, too many subplots, not all of them equally enganging or exciting with the result: viewers' emotions switching on and off and sometimes even tired and unconvinced, but overall always wanting to see more of that story. That's probably the reason why TLSL plot was (even too much) simple (a flow of opposite sign) but the fans at least seen Yuwen Yue dragged out of the lake and in company of Chu Qiao (I even remember their names).
From KMLM I'll probably remember the most original villain (without spoiling, we sense a Greek tragedy in heart of this twisted mind character towards the end) and the best emperor I've seen in C-drama. The story itself is not among those shining high above others, but I'd certainly recomend it, it's better than anything else airing right now. As for Liu Xue Yi, whoever watched The Blood of Youth, knows this actor can play anything, not like many others who know to play only in their comfort zone roles. And this capacity is visible in this role, too

At this point, MJH deserves a bit of grilling and love pain... Use a poison having no antidote next time, too, stupid! That cunning YQ would not easily give up the idea to keep ML by his side, he takes ML to trade talks on purpose, to make you suffer and give up on her.

Please, don't say such a thing... 🫠
People can express themselves in different ways, use different idioms, being different is human after all, but humans are behaviourly all the same, and this fact helps tanslators, linguists, historians, anthropologists...

Was there a time jump? How long? Does XiyanGreenTeaPrince know where her heart is?
I think of a simplier outcome.
She made a prenuptial deal with Hiyan GreenTea CP. She will be his CPrincess and that Moon Kunlun whatever his father believed in (as to obtain immortality), until his father dies. Then, they will arrange a mise en scene faking her death and be free...
It's true that he likes her, but that liking is because he's in debt with her, he doesn't know her at all. In this drama, he was depicted as smart and patient person, not inclined to obsessions, so, based on these outlines, I think he would accept a deal like that.
Other possibility is -GreenTea CP dies. In Hiyan, beside his father, the most weird personality is that fake priestess. They are allied now, for the purpose to deceive an idiot ruler, but the priestess will be in very tough position if the Moon and Sun Kunlun story she spread doesn't work and may be tempted to take the power on her own. Mei Lin fakes her death to save her own skin.
Or, if GreenTea does not have any deal with ML, ML can always strike a deal with that priestess.

Episode 7. Once again, wondering what in the world these 2 gorgeous guys would see in the FL that would make them…
I'm not a Mandarin speaker, but I've researched the word 帮派 used by the ML's sidekick at the beginning of ep 2 (I've watched till now) years ago (watching another c-drama, ofc), attracted by its phonetical sound: bang-pai. Speaking many European languages, to me it sounded as a mix of band (Gothic origin, pronounced bʌndʌ with Indo-European root "badth", bound together), gang (Old Germanic origin, present in modern German language as past participle of the verb gehen, to walk, always pronounced with ʌ, indicating smth or somebody on the same walking path) and "companio" (Latin word from which derives "company", "companionship" etc and original meaning "a group eating bread together").

Mandarin is not an Indo-European language but this word sounded so Indo-European, I simply ought to find more about this word. The first syllable (bang) stands for "help" and the second (pai) for "group", smth like "a group of mutual aid", so the "Indo-European" sound was pure coincidence, no connections.
In English we don't have one word which would indicate such a "group of mutual aid" and the word "gang" is its closest approximation, because when it was adopted in English, it indicated a group of people who walked together for some reason: escorting, transporting or protecting goods or people (the same purpose of Chinese bang-pai), self organised (ganged-up) pilgrims or traders with purpose to protect internal order of the travelling group as well as mutual defence against robbers. Being these persons armed, original gangs easily "walked into the other side of law" as well as Chinese bang-pai-s did, so we now see "gangsters" as "criminals in a group", but that's not far from the violent behaviour and strong internal mutual bond among the members of Chinese bang-pai. Anyways, the closest translation into a European language of the word bang-pai is in Italian, where it is translated as "sodalizio", deriving from Latin sodalitium, indicating everything: strong companionship with strong internal discipline (Ovid even writes about "iure sodalicii", the law existing by/through companionship), but also corporation, association etc, all words having more extensive or different meaning nowadays in English...

Yes, I agree we should close the discussion, as well as I agree with "we are not all consistent in our lives", with a small addendum that we didn't talk about us or other real living persons but fictional characters which must be properly and consistently written and performed (I don't have complaints about the actors' performance btw) to create relationship with a viewer. I've evidently related/emphatised more with the goose-actor, annoyed and pecking his blue scarf all the time than with the young LS, so I've already forgotten what part of the body he had broken while picking a fruit (can't remember the fruit either) desired by young LY.

I've decided to continue to watch till the moment she finally confronts LJX, because that moment will inevitably happen (all chickens come home to roost) and I'm too curious to see that scene, how the authors tackled the issue we talked so much about. :)))) Don't worry, I'm not a masochist, I'll drop it before if I can't endure...
I'll wish you happy watching, instead, it's been a pleasure indeed. Have a nice day

The characters and their relationships are far better written in KMLM than in the currently aired Rise of Ning and till now I haven't noticed characterial inconsistencies. She is depicted as a smart, well-trained, righteous and cautious general, how would she not know the art of deception or turn into a naive enamoured girl overnight?
Regarding her feelings towards CP, you're right, lets put ourselves in her shoes, that crazy man is ready to capsize the whole world just to be recognized by her, to be loved by her. No matter how contorted is his mind, his feelings for her run deep, moving her (they move us, the audience, as well), so, of course, she isn't made of stone either.
Besides, her acting in prison (before she killed the eunuch) wasn't deception, her tears were tears of deep disappointment, that means she indeed has feelings for CP, too, otherwise she would not be so pissed out when she heard the truth from eunuch...

Where is the righteousness? Where is the honor ? ... Luo Mei
She remains righteous. She slayed the eunuch because he said LM: "kill me and save his majesty" meaning: "by killing me YOURSELF, you will save the emperor". 1) CP would not be able to obtain through torture my false confession affirming MJH committed regicide, 2) you'll gain CP's trust, CP will think you are siding with him if you kill an innocent person like me.

She is too smart not to understand what he implied, the CP didn't catch the real meaning of eunuch's words, he was so much dazed when he saw her murdering the eunuch that he has forgotten he came to obtain the confession using torture.

She was also pretending she was venting her anger (would those few slaps be sufficient?) and obtained the tiger tally... CP knows her well, if she hasn't shown she was angry, he would not be convinced

my biggest issue with Luo Mei atm is her "love" for the CP in the first place. how do they honestly expect me…
That "kill me and save his majesty" towards LM intended: "by killing me YOURSELF, you will save the emperor". For two reasons: 1) CP would not be able to obtain through torture eunuch's false confession affirming MJH committed regicide, 2) she'll gain CP's trust, CP will think you are siding with him if you kill an innocent person like me.

She is too smart not to understand what he implied, the CP didn't catch the real meaning, he was so much dazed when he saw she slayed the eunuch that he has forgotten he came to obtain the confession.

One person certainly must meet a terrible death, that super efficient CP's sidekick, think his name is Wang. Although the make up artist made Baron Chen's face almost unrecognisable, he is still too pretty for me to wish to crush his face with a big stone, but such an impulse could be easily vent out on the evil cunning face of his sidekick (kudos to the actor, of course, for making the character so dislikeable)

Be sure I am enjoying our exchanges, too, to be honest, far more than I enjoy the drama :)))
1. I didn't try to avoid the answer, my counter-question was directed to her character-analysis (ie. how it was built-up, how consistently it was written), but you've already understood my intention and acknowledged the two questions are connected.
2. You did well to put your coment under a spoiler, but I actually didn't expect your extensive recap answer, we've seen the same drama and I certainly know her mother's death investigation served the purpose to lay out the plot. I've only wanted the acknowledgment as above (point 1) in order to direct your attention on what I see as lacking in this drama: a proper character building which is not limited just to FL, all characters are flat. If only the side characters were flat, it wouldn't disturb me, we are watching a c-drama (I mean nothing offensive, just referring to all kind of limitation Chinese writers have to respect, but despite these limitations some writers were able to produce very enjoyable dramas, even in this costume family genre, like The Story of Minglan, Blossoms in Adversity etc., and beside an interesting plot, what all nice dramas have in common is at least proper main characters building, the effort put in explaining their background/formation in a way that their motivations and decisions result comprehensible and coherent to the audience. You can't say this effort was put in this drama).
3. "What purpose would Yi Ning clarifying her past with LJX serve for this drama? In other words, what direction do you want the story to move in?" Clarifying things doesn't only serve to move the plot in a certain direction, there's also a necessity to build the characters. Concretely, it would serve to better explain her character and the audience wouldn't be abandoned in this huge space of guessing what are her thoughts and motivations. It would also make FL's attitude towards truth-seeking coherent. The viewers are not authors, it is not our job to imagine, fill the void spaces and solve the contradictions in characters' behaviour, we are here to enjoy and appreciate THEIR work and how well they (the authors) have done their job. I have no preferences regarding the direction of the plot, just asking for consistent (main, at least) characters and a plot that makes sense.
4. I am not among persons who are "jumping to make conclusions and passing judgment based only previews and whatnot" or impatient regarding "the secrets to unfold" but I don't entirely agree with your statement "It's also hard to judge a script when the drama's not even done." In general, I never give a vote or review a drama or its components untill it's over and I am not doing it now. But at this point, with more than 2 thirds of episodes already aired, every drama worth watching already displayed FORMED characters in terms of their background, attitude, motivations, thoughts and decision-making, the audience can say in which psychological type the protagonists can be classified. We don't have these things here. And this is not only the case of FL, whose attitude appears consistent only if we think she is affected by a double-personality disorder, even for the apparently more consistent ML, we don't truly get the reasons of his risoluteness in backing FL. Their childhood experience? Their childhood relationship would logically indicate he should be wary of her, he even broke his leg because of her willfulness, should we classify him as a masochist in search of more pain? I'm intentionally exaggerating being confident you'll get what I mean
5. I agree with you about the purpose of the second couple for the plot, I've only pointed out they seem to belong to some other drama...
Thank you again

They were never lovers, that seems a far stretch. More like she was a neighbor that he fell for, but no sign yet…
Thank you for this kind and exhaustive reply, I'll do my best to reciprocate. 👍
I can also agree with your statement: "you only can't move on when something still matters to you". But then my question is: why she cares about her mother's death? She never met her, that person died soon after her birth, has no legacy with her, never knew her and, paradoxically, she has less connection with her own mother than with LJX, a living person she knew and had connection with.

Lets' suppose (again, we need to speculate here in search of minimum logics but based on WHAT WE'VE actually SEEN in the drama) that she started to dig out the truth because she was in danger herself, Mrs Qiao was (objectively) after her. She threw her down, Qiao is punished, and she is punished too, by her grandma, because she used herself as a bait (the only interesting thing in writing this character), but she continues to dig out? WHY?

So the answer on your question: "What do you think LYN clarifying the circumstances surrounding her 'attempted murder' would achieve?" is "WhatLYN claryfying her mother's murder is supposed to achieve?"

The inconsistency in writing this character is... total.

And this is not the only inconsistency btw., most of the characters are badly written and the very plotline is inconsistent, dragged till the ep 27/40 to "reveal the secret of her birth" in oreder to create a bit of suspence. Here are the other issues:
1. pretty derranged (Luo) family, but with all characters flattened to be really understood in a family ensamble drama
2. we have an upright duke/general (and uncle of LNX) who ignores the identity of the woman he slept with, but he will never remarry after that affair
3. a FL's mother who slept with another person and then made her best effort to pass the result of that affair as the legitimate discendant of Luo family. The script relating to these three points are written by sick writers, they should immediately stop taking the drugs they are taking, they damage their brain
4. second leads who seem escaped from another and completely different drama, partially together with Mrs Lin, interpreted by a very good actress. In that plot, obviously written by another screenwriter (not heavily brain-damaged), I sincerily feared fot the goose-actor, not so much it will finish slauthered but because it felt so uncomfortable wearing that blue scarf around his neck.

I'll spare you all other inocìnsistent issues I've noticed, I'll only invite you to reflect on these ones...

As for the C-censorship issue, I'm against censorship, but I understand why did they limit that popular motif in web-novels such as trasmigration. I'm a "Westerner", by no way such a messy and brain-damaging content would be allowed to +13 as it is in China
