I just started this and so far I like the aesthetics and colours of the show, but the ML is so mean, what the heck !I hope there is some character growth ๐
I had high hopes for this drama, but somehow it fell short... The leads were great (I'm a fan of Richard Li) , their acting was good, but the story itself was an angsty mess ๐ญ

Agreed 100%, there a very few dramas where the FL stays consistently smart throughout the whole show...for me a perfect example is the FL from ''Parallel world'' - it's a full length drama though and I'd say for a more mature audience maybe, but the FL is a badass queen and the chemistry and banter between the leads is perfect. โค๏ธ๏ธ

Yes, I had high hopes for this show as well ๐ญ Personally for me it has too much unnecessary angst and the FL was behaving frustratingly even after she recognised the ML. I don't want to spoil too much because many people are liking it, maybe you will too.

Yeah, just finished ''Dawn is breaking'' today and I enjoyed the first half, but then it was a bit meh...don't even get me started on the ending ๐ญ To be honest I only watched for the ML cause I like him a lot in other dramas like ''My decoy bride'' and ''The deliberations of love''
I remember enjoying this drama quite bit and decided to re-watch it right after finishing ''The Double''. Biiiig mistake, it felt really boring and flat this time ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
To date the best short drama I have ever watched. If you have recommendation please let me know. Thanks.
If you haven't already, you can check out these dramas:
- Butterflied Lover (same director as ''A familiar stranger'', great cinematography and characters) - Fortune Writer - Secrets of the Shadow Sect - Provoke - The Rebel Empress - Thousands of Years of Love - Mysterious Love
These are all I can remember at the moment lol, but each of them is amazing with awesome chemistry between the leads ๐
I am enjoying this drama. Both leads are pretty likeable characters and the epilogues after each episode are pretty…
Ok, just skipped through the last episodes leads scenes, because it was super dragged out and a boring already, but Rao Jing and Zhao Fang made this drama better for me, I liked them the best! I liked the FL's bestie at first, but then her story became meh....
I am enjoying this drama. Both leads are pretty likeable characters and the epilogues after each episode are pretty cute.๐ The ML is a green flag and adorable with his 10 years old crush on our FL, I really liked his character, both professional and personal. But I still don't understand why he didn't tell her she was his high school crush, I mean, when you know it's impossible to have a future together, then ok, BUT they are already TOGETHER and he still lets her misunderstand and feel insecure....smdh at the silliness ๐คฆโโ๏ธ As for the FL - I saw many viewers commenting that she acts and sounds like a 5 years old (Viki's timed comments are very fun, but brutal to 99% of the FL in cdramas), I'll have to disagree, perhaps those commenters have not seen the trademark childish & clumsy FLsย that are predominant in c-dramas because this FL is clearly mature and emotionally intelligent and supportive. I like that she had her insecurities and eventually opened up about them and focused on herย career without the involvement of the ML. Did she haveย her dumb moments? Of course! But the ML is no saint either....and that's ok, nobody is perfect. The evolution of the leads relationship was pretty realistic and wholesome to me, like they were all awkward and tippy toe-ing around each other being all silly and insecure, and eventually they found their pacing and it was beautiful to see. Also, the FL's parents have got to be the best ones I've seen recently. What I enjoy most is the banter and sass between the second couple Rao Jing and Zhao Fang, bruh, they were so fun to watch, I loved the dynamicย ๐ Althoughย I'm still at ep.24 and have not watched the series till the end, I feel like this could've been wrapped in 20 eps, no idea what are they going to come up till ep 32,ย because I'm a little tired of the dragging that started around ep.18, but overall I like it!
I agree, I like the FL, but I dropped this drama for this very reason, because portraying abuse and obsession…
Yes, I agree. Even though I liked the chemistry more in Enslaved by love, the dynamic was very messed up. In this one, apart from the ML's behaviour, I found the story/interraction of the leads quite bland to be honest.
