I found this show and thought it sounded decent enough to try Then I see these comments and think.. nah maybe…
I admit I always check out the comment section to find out if it has a happy ending or worse - if it contains SA scenes. I cant handle watching these ๐ญ ( of course if the drama finished airing). Once I get that out of the way, I agree with the other replies - the best way to find out is by watching the series, since we can relate or not with the story/characters through our subjective prism
I'm only on ep 17 so I'm not totally up to date on where the drama is going but I was surprised by the tone change…
Haha, I might overusee the ff โฉ button as well ๐ธ I recall the comment section was actually worse during the airing of The Princess Royal. The writers/story presented the characters with a conflictive moral pallette, and thus the comment section was quite extreme. I just gave up and avoided reading anything there because getting involved in such disputes is asking for trouble and be trolled by unreasonable people, in addition it ruined the drama for me๐คฆโโ๏ธ

Same)) I stopped at ep 13 because for one, I wanted to wait for more episodes, and secondly, wasn't sure whether to continue or not because of the repetitive tropes. That is why I check the comment section occasionally to see what's going on and dang... some of them comments come across as pretty hateful. I mean, it's ok to have different opinions, it's inevitable actually, but it would be great if folks remained civil about it ๐ฅน
I can't find any reason that it is a good moral thing to shoot unarmed men in the back.
If you mean the 1 ep I was also appalled, but then they mentioned those men operated in trafficking children so I did not feel sorry for them. Btw, love your user name ๐
Damn, I stopped at ep.13 and was contemplating whether to continue watching this, but it looks like we've got…
Oh, so it gets better, that's good to hear. To be honest I found the ML way too aggressive at first although I do understand the reasons for it(sort of), besides I don't recall him getting physical (like the grabbing the FL by the neck or something, I hate that), so while I was weary of his character I was surprised that the writers deteriorated the FL's character quite a lot, I had higher expectations from her character. I'm glad her attitude improves though. Thanks!
Although I hate violence, but ML need to send some female guards and put a sack on FL friend, fetch her somewhere…
Damn, I stopped at ep.13 and was contemplating whether to continue watching this, but it looks like we've got the usual tropes crampled here in addition to the chilhood connection ๐ญ Don't know if I can take it...thanks for the heads up ๐ตโ๐ซ
I just started this and so far I like the aesthetics and colours of the show, but the ML is so mean, what the heck !I hope there is some character growth ๐
I had high hopes for this drama, but somehow it fell short... The leads were great (I'm a fan of Richard Li) , their acting was good, but the story itself was an angsty mess ๐ญ
If you haven't already, you can check out these dramas:- Butterflied Lover (same director as ''A familiar stranger'',…
Agreed 100%, there a very few dramas where the FL stays consistently smart throughout the whole show...for me a perfect example is the FL from ''Parallel world'' - it's a full length drama though and I'd say for a more mature audience maybe, but the FL is a badass queen and the chemistry and banter between the leads is perfect. โค๏ธ๏ธ

Yes, I had high hopes for this show as well ๐ญ Personally for me it has too much unnecessary angst and the FL was behaving frustratingly even after she recognised the ML. I don't want to spoil too much because many people are liking it, maybe you will too.

Yeah, just finished ''Dawn is breaking'' today and I enjoyed the first half, but then it was a bit meh...don't even get me started on the ending ๐ญ To be honest I only watched for the ML cause I like him a lot in other dramas like ''My decoy bride'' and ''The deliberations of love''
