lol, I have the impression I'm watching like 3 dramas cramped into one...it's entertaining, but logic and reason definitely left the chat here 🤦♀️curious how will this end haha
I’m on episode 18 and this is a warning for people sensitive.. The first episodes with flashbacks was worst…
I agree, I like the FL, but I dropped this drama for this very reason, because portraying abuse and obsession as love is sure as hell not healthy. Recently watched ''Enslaved by Love'', which is basically the same theme, only much better chemistry, and while I enjoyed the chemistry there, I am still alarmed at how often this kind of dynamic is romanticised and we see the leads living happily ever after (rarely) and somehow overlooking the obsessive and sadistic tendencies they displayed for a good portion of the show 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I definitely have complaints for DY tho I really enjoy watching it throughout! Loved the bromance but wished they…
Yeah, I started TBOY a few days ago and now I understand the complaints😊 Even if I found DY pretty enjoyable, TBOY has a whole different aura already (I'm at ep.13), I hope it will stick that way, because the second part of DY is just heartbreak after heartbreak, the world really let YDZ down ( including the amount of screentime for my boy 😢) . I also watched in on Viki, but finished it on another platform . There are also 13 extra bonus snippets (they are short, some a little over a minute, some around 5 minutes) and some help weave the plot into TBOY events, but I don't think they will be available on Viki, since extra clips are never available there, must be a license issue perhaps...
I did not expect I'd enjoy this drama so much. The story is interesting, the fighting scenes are very awesome and fun to watch and the friendships are heartwarming. Although the amount of characters made me dizzy cause I'm really bad at remembering them, the amount of eye candy more than made up for it lol. The fact that the majority of the characters were pretty likeable and interesting made this drama so much better...I have a lot of favorites in this one The romance is light and not the focal point of the story, that's why I don't even mind the lack of chemistry in some instances (cough cough Baili Dong Jun &. Yue Yao ) I gotta say though, for me the highlight of the series was the friendship/brotherly bond between BDJ and YDZ, also the bond between BDJ and SCF. It was a precious thing to watch. Neo Hou is charming as always, and He Yu is just yum.....I noticed him before in The Legend of Shen Li, and I really liked him there. Really hope to see these two reunite in another drama. Next on my watchlist is definitely TBOY, since I hear people say it's much better than DY, so I'm really excited, because this one is really good!!
Omg, halfway through the series I realized that ML played Ban Heng in ''A girl like me'', no wonder I like him so much, he was my favorite in that one, lol! I really like this drama, for a revenge plot, the leads relationship is pretty solid and wholesome, they're so pure, I love them. They are also very very pretty and look beautiful together. FL is a beauty and I like her character, and her acting is also very good. The ML is a sweetheart and a green flag all the way, he kinda gives me early Xiao Zhan vibes though, no idea why. Although I've lost count of how many dramas with this sort of plot I've watched, this one was still very enjoyable and even made me emotional on a few occasions. 💙💙💙
This was quite a good watch, enjoyable in one sitting 💜💜💜 Granted, I can't say I'm a very big fan of this level of angst, and the first third of the series was all kinds of messed up, it was stressful to watch. Luckily I was prepared, because I've read a few reviews and comments (kudos to y'all commentators and reviewers😍) I know the ML from ''A lucid dream'' (which is a pretty amazing mini drama, if you haven't watched it yet, give it a try) and I've seen the FL in a few other mini series, all of them being good, so I knew this was going to be good, at least performance-wise, and boy did the leads deliver. The chemistry was chemistrying !!🤌 I found the actor (not the character) who plays the ML very attractive in this drama and our guy knows how to kiss, swoon 🔥🔥🔥 The production and overall mood of the drama gave me ''Broken the heart'' , ''Butterflied lover'' and ''Hard to find'' vibes, which are all amazing dramas of this kind of genre. We get angsty relationship of the leads in the beginning, a revenge-plot (sort of), faked amnesia, freaking amazing kisses 💋 a sweet relationship start-over in the last episodes, and surprisingly a happy ending for our leads, although last minute and kind of abrupt, but I'll take it, watching cdramas for years now has taught me to appreciate it lol.
This was quite an enjoyable watch. The leads are very likeable characters overall, and their relationship was very sweet. I like that there's no toxicity to it. I was worried about the ending for a bit since I read comments saying it is not a happy ending., however it seemed happy to me - the whole crew remained together and even celebrated their win at home while our leads were travelling or maybe they just went on their (delayed) honeymoon lol 😁
When I saw this drama it was happening I was just 22 years old, I hadn't had many love experiences yet I thought…
Omg girl, yes, run away from this kind of toxicity!! 🤦♀️😱☠️ I get you, that is why I don't seek this kind of content to watch, per general I prefer to watch light-hearted fluff romance that will help me escape from the daily madness, even if for a little while 🥺
When I saw this drama it was happening I was just 22 years old, I hadn't had many love experiences yet I thought…
Omg, your boyfriend's family is c-drama material ))))) But if I'm being serious, I hope their situation will solve for the best. I understand what you mean, parents can have a very lasting effect on their children and it comes with a collection of traumas and complexes that are almost impossible to heal, and I wouldn't want to mess up my child if I'll ever have one 😭 Yeah, I would say that this drama is definitely not worth a re-watch, there are a lot of other dramas out there with healthier relationships between the leads, depending on what type of dramas you prefer, be it historical, fantasy, republic era or modern one...For me, a much better and wholesome version of this kind of drama would be: ''When I fly towards you'' - its somewhat similar but zero toxicity and the OST is amazing.
They give Butterfly effectss.Their chemistry even in Behind the scene is out of the world really❤️https://x.com/Tansongyun1990/status/1813434317663789427?t=SBUBkyucM6soCm38cQ_f7A&s=19
Dang, I love how natural and comfortable are JX & HT as a couple 😍😍😍 Seeing way too many dramas where the FL is kissed like she's being forced, this is just 🤌🤌🤌

Yes, I agree, when people are too different and the effort does not pay off, the best option (not the easiest one though) is to part ways. Their story is very realistic indeed, and I could not fully enjoy it because I did not really like the way they both behaved after the separation...the ML was behaving like nothing happened and faked a girlfriend just to make the FL jealous, all the while guilt tripping her - to be honest that's not a sign of maturity for me, but rather manipulation at its finest 😭 And the FL just gave in too quickly, without addressing their issues and cause of separation in the first place, therefore I found it hard to believe that all her doubts and insecurities vanished just because time has passed...but, we all are humans and don't act flawlessly that's for sure, they both needed to mature separately 😊 My bitter after taste lingered because I've seen these kind of relationships all around me during my entire life, and it's ugly, especially when there are children later on. Me being one of those children I can say with certainty that the amount of mental and emotional damage stays with you your whole life...
This is a great review, and very in sync with my own perception of this drama. I'm glad other people are feeling and seeing what went wrong with a project that should've been fantastic, which is really a shame because I was really hyped for this series and have been waiting forever for it to air, and even though the beginning was fun, later on it was just a mess that was becoming messier and messier. I have 6 episodes left but I think I'll skip it all and just watch the ending ((((((
This is a great review. It expresses my thoughts and sentiments very accurately. I stopped at ep.34 and honestly I don't know if I want to continue watching it....I love the leads per se, and ZLH and ZJM are some of my favourite actors at the moment. But this show did not sit well with me, and it did not help that the comment section on MDL is full with bullies and hateful commenters...
The comment section is so chaotic. For those who wants to watch the drama peacefully, please don't read the comments…
Very true, I stopped reading the comments because it ruins my watching experience 😔 Wanted to read a few comments today and saw yours, it must be a sign that I should stay away😁
