In today's 2 eps the angst was very toned down, basically the leads decide partner up and investigate, and the ML finds out his homies from the Sunken Abyss have been absorbed by a tree and he's heartbroken ..... which was a really well done scene with the FL comforting him
I think it is easier for screenwriters to swell on distrusts, lies, it is the easy way out for mediocre screenwriters
You know, I'll have to agree because sure, these are common tropes but idk, seems like the genre is over-saturated with these misunderstanding/lying that keep being dragged out and make it difficult to watch, at least for me. I wish they's come up with a more refreshing plot point....that being said I still enjoy the drama but it's a bittersweet feeling if it makes sense....

Same, I've read the novel and indeed see the novel and the drama as completely separate stories 😂😂😂 It's actually a good rule of thumb for watching any other adaptation because it's unrealistic to expect a complete 100% following of the source material...
Why, Why, WHY??? Why betrothed and not sister or cousin or childhood friend, anything???
Perhaps a relative and even a childhood friend is very easy to verify and prove as false, hence a secret betrothed was the easiest one to prove as valid.....who knows, I'm still frustrated nonetheless 😭

True, I guess given the premise of the drama and characters I wanted more episodes with MY being her true badass self, but that could still happen, I'm hopeful, I'm just frustrated she still lied because it was a good time to come clean. 50+ episodes is wild especially that most of the 40 eps dramas have a lot of filler episodes that are not necessary.
Damn, will the second prince become a villain tho? So far, he's been successfully brainwashed, but also he looks up to his bro a lot, damn it, what a pickle 😢
