Well, according to the novel it's a HE but given that they changed a LOT from the novel I don't know anymore....these are the risks of watching dramas airing (((((
I think it is easier for screenwriters to swell on distrusts, lies, it is the easy way out for mediocre screenwriters
I understand. I am also a fan of more mature, fresh take on an onscreen couple. They did this in Legend of the female general too - created angst and a short separation just for the sake of dramatic impact, but all it did is piss me off. Maybe we've just seen too many dramas and now they seem repetitive and predictive, idk.... I am watching FH too and I'm enjoying it very much, as for the pairing, well I'm enjoying it here much more than the one in Shadow love, in both cases the FLs are older than the MLs in real life, somehow in FH it's more bearable for me.

we're talking about ep.23 π, or at least speculating about it. In today's 2 eps the angst was very toned down, basically the leads decide partner up and investigate, and the ML finds out his homies from the Sunken Abyss have been absorbed by a tree and he's heartbroken ..... which was a really well done scene with the FL comforting him

You know, I'll have to agree because sure, these are common tropes but idk, seems like the genre is over-saturated with these misunderstanding/lying that keep being dragged out and make it difficult to watch, at least for me. I wish they's come up with a more refreshing plot point....that being said I still enjoy the drama but it's a bittersweet feeling if it makes sense....
really disappointed βΉοΈπ but it's xianxia. I anticipated it already πππ
Same, I've read the novel and indeed see the novel and the drama as completely separate stories πππ It's actually a good rule of thumb for watching any other adaptation because it's unrealistic to expect a complete 100% following of the source material...
At least in FH for me LQ is a much more convincing female general
