... a bit boring but I held out until the end because I absolutely wanted to know what would come of this shared meal. Of course it was known in advance that both boys would fall in love but I didn't expect that we would get a picture of a queer platonic and asexual relationship between two young boys. How boring and notrealistic it was, unless it was in Japan.
PS. The food culture in Asia is definitely different from ours; I mean the sounds. I know that it is completely normal for them, but definitely not for us. LOL
i am pretty sure it will be a happy lil ending. so far from whatever eps that got released, it looks like the…
Well, I don't know, I saw the video of the title song and it didn't look like a happy ending. If it turns into a tragedy again, I'll protest. Not in December, it's dark and cold and I need something to warm my heart. After Blue Canvas, I don't want any more tragedy.
I don't think so. This show originally aired and was cancelled by Chinese censors after 4 episodes. The rights…
Queer censorship and intolerance is a weapon of the government and political programs that has little to do with the general opinion in China. The truth is that two boys can walk hand in hand through the streets of Beijing and nobody pays attention to them and nobody cares, and besides, it is much safer than, for example, in Berlin. I know what I am talking about because I live in Berlin. In Germany, the LGBTQ community is accepted and the possibility of same-sex marriages and relationships is regulated by law, but that does not mean that being queer feels safe and normal on the streets of German cities. Therefore, I think that as long as China is communist (and it will probably always be that way), we cannot expect a rainbow revolution and that nothing progressive will happen in this area. The fact that we saw a kiss on the lips and neck is already a revolution... No wonder they stopped this series and turned it into a drama, because that was the only way they could be shown. Being queer is officially considered a perversion in China, making it impossible for queer people to live a normal and happy life like straight people. As for the actors, I don't think there were any consequences, as they often stream on Weibo and are doing fine.
This is a low-budget series, made under a lot of pressure, restrictions, and limitations. Even though the ending…
I have the impression that from episode 4 onwards the narrative changed and the director gave up showing physical closeness. There wasn't even a kiss after LX hadn't seen each other for six years, there was no hug, nothing at all. Only the eyes of the two told us what they were feeling. Yes, Liu and Xiao held hands, but they weren't shown in full, only the focus was on their hands. I think it was a conscious renunciation in order to even finish this project. It's a shame because I missed it so much. I missed their tenderness that we saw at the beginning. But on the other hand, I'm glad we were able to watch this series at all, even if there was too much physical violence and general tragedy for my poor heart.
After watching the last episode, I feel like I've been run over by a tractor and I can't even be happy about the happy ending, because I guess there is one? I don't know anymore... unfortunately I don't feel any joy anymore.
oh god with gagas synopsis of eps 12 is this not going end with them getting a happy ending? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I don't know how this horror series is supposed to end happily for Liu and Xiao? Unless Liu's father dies suddenly in a car accident or falls down the stairs or something and frees Liu from himself. There will be no happy ending for gay love, once again in a row.
Episode 10:ugh. It was coming along so well, too...It's unfortunate to see so many ancient BL tropes raise their…
That's exactly what I thought. Boys, or rather people of that age in general, would have sex in every corner of their apartment and the fact that there aren't even any signs of them fucking together is unbelievable, but I understand that the censors wouldn't stand for that. We got a kiss on the lips and neck and that was probably the most the Chinese could show. We're talking about men, about two boys who love each other... noooo... that's not possible. Hey guys!
If it weren't for the original by Boss and Neoul, I might have been carried away, but since I've seen the original, the Japanese version seems very bland to me. Yes, Payu tries to give the erotic scenes that fire in Boss's performance, but unfortunately it's very one-sided, especially the kisses.... I'm not impressed in general.......
Yeah I feel such anxiety abt their fate and mixed feelings, too. But I like the realistic taiwanese cinema leaning…
This is mainland China, not Taiwan. So happy gay endings are unlikely, or to be honest, I don't know of any Chinese BL series that has a happy ending for a gay couple in love. Even a bromance where the main couple is obviously in love ends in tragedy and the loss of a leg of one of the main characters. I have no illusions that Xiao and Lu will end up happily together, but maybe Tan and Liu will be together, because there isn't as undeniable a romance between them as there is between Lu and Xiao.
I feel a lot of anger in your comment rather than a logical analysis. I do understand where you are coming from…
Today, new trailers for parts 11 and 12 have been released on Weibo, and even though I'm the biggest optimist, but based on what I've seen I can't envision that anyone in this series will be happy. I'd rather say that tragedy literally follows tragedy, and since it contrasts with the incredibly intense and tender moments of the main couple, the realism of the situation is even more depressing and painful.
a series doesn't have to have a message, but maybe it's to "do what you want to do and love who you want to love"?…
Of course, they repeat it several times, but if this assumption is the reason for all the misfortune that happens to them, then that is a message not to do it, right?.....or, the main couple will stick to this assumption and pay for it with their lives or the lives of their loved ones
unfortunately there are no further plans for Mick/Top to work together so this was just a one-time project. Top…
personally I'm a bit surprised that Mick/Top won't become permanent partners, they won't be a ship because the fans love them so much , it's a real shame
unfortunately there are no further plans for Mick/Top to work together so this was just a one-time project. Top…
I don't know, I haven't seen any information about him. But since he's incredibly talented and had success with Top I think he won't give up acting right? Maybe a new partner or continued work with different partners like Top does?
I just watched the trailer for episode 11 and I'm wondering what the message of this series is? Is it a cautionary tale? If you're gay, all the misfortune in the world will happen to you, including the Egyptian Plague? .....or what is this? I wonder where this drama will end? Will Lu/Xiao's lovers commit suicide (like Romeo and Juliet) by jumping off a bridge, or will Lu be tortured to death by his father? Or maybe drug dealers (I don't know exactly what kind of stunt Grandpa pulled) will stab Xiao? However, if the love story ends with a happy ending for the second couple, it becomes even more weird and inexplicable. Two young and healthy men cannot be together and be in love, they have to date women, but two men with disabilities (one with a mental problem and the other is deaf and "helpless") are allowed to love each other, because they probably shouldn't reproduce, because only healthy and capable society is important? Is that what they want to tell us? We're definitely in for a tragic ending for the main couple and I think if that happens, this seemingly weird series is some kind of hidden homophobia. It would never have happened if Lu had a romance with a girl.... The series is artistically great, it has beautiful shots, interesting atmosphere, but it's not hard to notice that it's either filmed late at night when people are sleeping, or in places where no one is around... is it out of fear? What's going on here? That's why I love and hate it at the same time.
I really enjoyed this, it's well done, actually surpasses many other 'popular' BLs by miles.I am also glad to…
unfortunately there are no further plans for Mick/Top to work together so this was just a one-time project. Top will be playing with Yoon in a BL pair called PS. You :-(
I don't see what the problem is with the second couple. As long as the younger guy isn't the teacher's actual…
oh, if it were that simple it would be completely ok but......the teacher was interested in the boy with blond hair only because he reminded him of his dead younger brother, he said it himself looking at their joint photo. this situation also seems to be a problem for the teacher, after all he started drinking and constantly fights with his thoughts. this is a bit sick for me, imagine, you have sex with your partner but in fact this person reminds you of your dead brother and you look at his face while you are having sex together. Besides this young boy is so innocent... oh no...!
