They definitely are. You can even see Yunjae’s face come into frame for just a split second. The question is…
Yeah i've seen it. They're very cute indeed. JaeHa is such a gentleman i can see why he won HgJ but outside that don't know what to think about it. Why that? Why this date? Why now? Why not using those sequences as flash back through the main show to make it longer and give viewers more context? Could mean anything really. It either indicate they will get back together or Pd Team releasing this now because it would be awkward to do it after if they end up with different people.
I'm more happy with the release of Junseongho reaction of ep1&2. Seongho was one of the make up artist on the show for shoots and reshoots so he and Junseong know who ended up with who and their reactions to YJ&HJ are giving... Let's just say i'll now wait for every episodes with an at ease mind no matter how dramatic the trailer might look to try to trick me into thinking my ship did not sail. Season 4 will be good...
They definitely are. You can even see Yunjae’s face come into frame for just a split second. The question is…
All this is just speculations, probably and hopefully wrong cause I boarded the YJxHJ ship and i hope it will sail an not sink (even though i'll sink with it) because of "the red string/thread of fate theory" featured on the poster.
Even though this theory could apply to the exes or HgJ and HJ, So far it seems like the show from teasers to writting and editing is built with YJxHJ as the Main Leads of a BL drama. So Pd Team is either pulling a Junseongho like in season 2 or are setting us for a massive disappointment. Just look how many people like them they're already fans favorites. Friday please come sooner.
They definitely are. You can even see Yunjae’s face come into frame for just a split second. The question is…
I'm not afraid of SunWook. The real threat i think might come from HyeongJun who i think is HJ's previous filming eg choice. From Taichi's funny glances at SW after HgJ arrived to SW threaten reaction that followed, similar reaction he had later when he learned YJ picked HJ as his roommate or when he had an itw the next morning, which imo proves he did not received HJ's call the night before. HgJ wanting to room with SW probably to keep an eye on competition, to the fact SW refused in ep2 to tell HgJ who called him because if SW had said it was SunMin, HgJ would def know that if SW don't receive any more call it could only means has the upper hand . Hgj & Hj will go on two date for sure : one outside and one hot spa date at the home.
So what's the status of that SeungIl GoEun eg rumor with recent episodes/events ? Is it dead yet or...? "Mary Sue TiraMinaSu" is really the best SI vilain. Who doesn't like a good vilain. She's making things so messy, i love it.
They definitely are. You can even see Yunjae’s face come into frame for just a split second. The question is…
Nah. HJ seriousness during the sequence is most likely due to sexual or emotional tension. I don't see why they would start to hold hands out of a serious topic. Also in the sequence you can clearly see its HJ who ask for YJ's hand. I'm starting to think HJ might be the type to heavily introspect his romantic thoughts, fears and feelings. Indifferent on the outside while on the inside its a raging storm of deep emotions.
A clear sign of romantic interest with those type of personalities is the opposite behavior they show with friends and family (smile, joke, laugh a lot) vs someone they're starting to like/fall for : extreme shyness that paralyze them to the point they might look passive, cowardish or turned off by you while in fact its the total opposite. They are deeply into you. Usually it takes a certain time for things to click and after that its a total 180 and they become yapper pups with their lover.
My guess is that Jaeha will only go after his ex. I suspect he said the other guys in ep 1 cuz he didn’t know…
I don't think things will go smooth between them. There is a lot of resentments on HyeongJun side and probably pride on JaeHa's. Just like Exchange its not because they might still have feelings for eo that they will necessarily end up together again. We don't know yet if during previous filming, picking eo as eg was an evident thing to do. Maybe one of them or both were torn between eo and someone else. Also HgJ is seen smiling giving his call to someone I highly doubt to be JaeHa considering his attitude in his itw (filmed the next day/morning).
Why didn't they explain what went down previously?! it feels like a huge disadvantage for the audience having…
The PD Team will never tell nor confirm what really happened for one good reason: Its seems to be a very serious topic and Korea being the homophobic society it is, this could result in a surge of hate crimes toward the gay community just like at the beginning of Covid when gay people were blamed for the spreading of the disease because of their (according to some Koreans) "dirty and sinful lifestyle" and a lot of them were discriminated, harassed online and even assaulted outside gay bars and clubs (before lockdown) by homophobic militias. PD Team might also want to protect a potential victim identity, the og participants cause they could be on the front line of unfair attacks and critics and also protect the show from Korean cancel culture. So lets move on from this topic, trust me its for the best.
Streets saying seungil and go eun are end game🤓(rumors on twt) do we have anything in teasers related to this?
Lets be real a moment here. MinJi is apparently the IT girl of the season and both her and SeungIl have main character energy and story developpment. There is no instance in SI history where an eg couple was built from mid or end of the show out of nowhere. In last season teasers and trailers even if there was a lot of Sian with TaeOh and JeongSu, still there was crumbs of Sian and Junseo from the begining to start debates and speculations online and make the show buzzworthy. I don't see any reason for PD team to not do the same by adding some GoEun and SeungIl fuel to the fire from the begining if they are indeed EG. So my guess is: Ghost ship artificialy pushed by its fans just like TaeOh and YuJin last season.
The way some of these men are functioning/reasoning is very strange imo. Its giving me very strategic, ulterior motives vibes and with the sus editing, I can't stop to crazy theorize.
For example JaeHa (HyeongJun's ex) in the first meeting said he was interested the most in YunJae but few linutes later picked HyunJun (who's the total opposite of YunJae) as the participant he would like to go on a date with if he wins the rock paper scissor game. Later he said he wanted to room with his ex HyeongJun despite the fact he said at the beginning is here to meet someone new (implied) which is also contradicting what he said later about being back to come out to his family.
I also fear/sense a big plot twist coming in the next episode. There is no logical reason for the production team not to hype the fans favorite ship YunJae and HyunJun (Season 2 iconic couple way) by showing all the participants calls other than keeping the bomb of HyunJun calling HeyongJun (his previous eg pick) and JaeHa > YunJae to drama kick off ep3.
How is it trust breaking when they made clear from jump exactly what they did?Trust breaking would be if the reshot…
Once again a lot of off topic. Ethic doesn't starts and ends with the participants topic. It carries through all aspects of producing a reality tv show. I don't see why PD team should feel sorry or bad about not asking previous participants to come back. It's not like they owe something to the participants outside their contracts. You have to put the human factor aside.
The POV of viewers is the only one that matter here, especially Korean viewers. They are the only monitored metric here. Its a fact. If a show fail to attract enough viewers (so money) it get budget cuts or is cancelled. Its the same with its image. If a Korean show receive enough backlash it is cancelled, deserved or not.
Do you know what is the Streisand Effect? What is the more risky thing to do here? An entirely new season with no dividing issues or room for a backlash to grow, coming back at you boomerang style OR scrapping something (even the cast) from previous season taking the risk to be cancelled by the Korean public opinion especially when its only hours since you launched your first two episodes and the (horrible) reason behind the trashing of your previous season is already leaking online giving opportunities to homophobes to put the blame on the entire gay community and putting your entire show and participants at risk of cancellation. Sure my option is the more risky one...
How is it trust breaking when they made clear from jump exactly what they did?Trust breaking would be if the reshot…
It is. It was the safest option. It saves your intergrity, work ethic as a producer an your reputation as a dating show by preventing the dangerous precedent to be set.
You're mixin everything here i'm not talking about the participants (its heartwarming seeing you being concerned about them but they're not the subject here).
I'm talking from the production pov about the interest of the production and production alone (have to put the human factor aside). To cancel the season would have been just a finacial hit to tank now we're in image territory and in entertainment its easier to recover from a finacial dip than restoring your reputation its the reason why this pd team for example did not even risk it by heavily edit og season 4 (the scandal might be BIG). Go see what happened to Heart Signal pd team after season 4 or to Twinkle Love one after season 3 and 4.
I mean to be fair reality dating show has always been produced and not real. I would go as far as to say people…
Still it is not because the perfect outcomes are difficult if not impossible to achieve in a dating show that it justify to subsitute its defining element with its complete opposite. It totally counteract the primary goal and reason behind reality show existence.
If entertainment is just entertainment and every piece of it equal another no matter its destinctive element. Why are you watching more of a certain type of entertainment vs another? What brought you to Dating Shows in the the first place if its not its distinctive "real" aspect?
Would you still watch if tomorrow's Dating Shows openly state "What you're about to see and its outcomes are a pure work of fiction performed by actors and influencers under the supervision of writers and producers"?
How is it trust breaking when they made clear from jump exactly what they did?Trust breaking would be if the reshot…
Wasn't PD Team ok with asking participants to act like they didn't know eo in the first meeting? I salute the fact they did come clean later about the reshoots but it doesn't change the fact they were ok to compromise the integrity of their show even if its just a little. The lesser bad solution was to cancel this season and start fresh with a new cast. Now pandora's box is open and will always remain the doubt "is what i'm watching real or an act". Worst if the season end up being bad people will use the reshoot situation to eviscerate the PD Team on SNS risking the show to be cancelled by Wavve execs.
I mean to be fair reality dating show has always been produced and not real. I would go as far as to say people…
Producing a dating show is not the same as faking it. Creating situations hoping for certain outcomes is very different from giving a script to participants or asking them to fake their interactions. You also kinda proves my previous point here. By perpetuating the idea that dating shows are or always were fake or kinda fake you give a free pass to the industry to go full fake and they will considering people like you seems to be ok with it. Why risking to produce a mid to bad season or risking to lose tons of money by trashing an entire show because of a participant scandal if you can just control 100% of the narrative and reshoot at will : many eg couples, perfect love stories, popular tropes and plots, couple or outcomes based on popularity, etc.
Can anyone tell me what is the reshoot thing? Is that mean that 5/6 participants already meet before? if that's…
Basically season 4 wrapped its shooting but because of one participant potential scandal coming pd team decided to trash all the rushes (probably very big scandal if the pd team did go to that extreme extent). Out of the nine og participants they called seven back and added two new participants and decided to reshoot the show from zero like nothing happened, participants don't know eo or are already endgame. His Man 4 is basically an hybrid dating show/web drama now. Viewers now have to accept the fact that what they are watching could be totally fake.
Called it! I knew something was fishy with this season just from the trailer alone. To re-shoot the entire show was a terrible idea, a trust breaking move imo and the fact PD Team was/is ok with it highlight what i feared for the future of this entertainment genre. This industry is now no longer ashamed or afraid to engineer dating show like any other fiction and viewers are now ok to live in delusion and pretend what they're watching is unscripted. Sad. Still i'll give a try to the first episode but more like morbid curiosity than genuine enthusiasm.
I was wondering why this season is "so bad" vs season 1,2 and even 3, then i saw the production team photo... Now i get it. I'm calling it now s5 might be the last season or last before a big questioning if TVING don't overseer what that dumb PD is planing for s5.
The ratings for the show dropped a lot for season 3 and 4 so I haven't watched either. Is either season better…
Honestly you should make your opinion about the show for yourself cause a dating show appreciation is way more personal than a drama imo. I personally think season 2 is the best, 1 baldy aged but still good and it originated the concept so i think you should watch it before any other season or you might feel a sensation of regression. I'm among the people that really like 3 with its cosy vibes, colors and cinematography. 4 is the one that threw away the og formula for the sake of novelty and fumbled, chasing trend with choc elements and a lot of drama.
To my beloved Thief screenwriter — congrats on winning the Excellence Script Award since 2020!Hong Gil-dong…
That's not true. Lee Sun (the writer) won the Excellence Award at Studio Dragon's 2nd Drama Script Contest (a production company internally held contest, not an industry recognition award) in 2020 not every year since. She also wasn't the only winner and recipient in this category and not even the biggest award someone can win in this contest (which is The Grand Prize). To My Beloved Thief is also her first notable work.
