it's a historical show and the original audience are koreans. they would for surely know about these people and their history. why do people still watch the tudors if they know anne boleyn will be beheaded?

the actors have nothing to do with the horse issue so why should they suffer the consequences? do you want the same thing to happen to your favorite show if something really bad happened to its production (where none of the main actors had anything to do)?

i bet if this is some popular hallyu show or starred big name popular actors there will be less haters for the horse related issue. i don't like animal abuse as well, but i think only the ones responsible for the horse's death should be punished. mishaps happen all the time in kdramas. i'm sure the bashers don't even watch long sageuk dramas like this.

"i don't condone animal abuse, but i notice it was easier to hate on this drama because of that issue because none of the actors are super popular? Bet if a more popular actor happens to be here, more fans will defend this.
those responsible for the animal abuse should be reprimanded/punished (can't think of a word lighter than punishment but harder than reprimand) but cancelling this show is too much.

he really deserves a leading role, producers should give him a chance. so many bland actors and this brilliant and talented young man is not in any dramas. i always like him but he was on a different level in king of tears lee bang won.

they have such good friendship and collaboration. i also really loved the arthdal fandom during the time, people were focused too much on theories about the upcoming season, there were no crazy shippers of this couple, sjk fans not minding kjw popularity and having launched a thousand ships within the drama.

he's not even problematic, he's just a person that got divorced. had his ex wife not been a big name hallyu star, half of the fuss will not be here. i also believe he'll get less hate if his new wife also happened to be a beloved popular hallyu star. of course he's imperfect, but who is perfect? also his interview that caused some people to say he was "misogynistic" was misinterpreted. he just discussed that in general there is a possibility that some actors may not get the same number of offers they had when they were not married or had kids (there was no mention of gender at all in his interview). it's funny because the interview happened and was out in may (people who generally check updates about him have watched the interview by that time and it was an interview released around the time of the cannes film festival in may 2023 which he attended) yet it only became viral and was misinterpreted by people in june (after the news of his baby's birth). i did not get the impression that he was talking about gender at all when his interview was released in may (before it became viral in june).

that’s really weird. I find most (not all) of the male leads (that debuted less than 10 years ago) recently that are paired with the former child actresses not as good as them in acting (fortunately, So Hyun’s next to costars are fine actors). I haven’t seen Love Alarm (i’ve mostly seen sageuks of Sohyun’s pre-pandemic projects except her short appearance in Baker King and Thorn Birds kdramas, her movie with Kyungsoo, and Missing You with Yeo Jin Goo) but I’ve seen one of the Love Alarm male leads in My Demon and he’s not as good in acting as his female costar there. I’m frustrated of the child actor discrimation, they are always good actors because most kdrama in the past have 2-3 episodes of child actors and they were the ones who invite interest to the drama. Almost all of them have sageuk and melodrama experience which is why almost all of them are good.

I think he needs a new movie for his next project. It’s weird that his most acclaimed work is a movie, but it’s been years since he’s done one.

I just had to block the account here emphasizing how his ex-wife have suffered because of the divorce announcement years ago (which is why he’s a red flag according to them), when the truth was that both of them received criticisms and suffered. It’s obvious, they’ll receive criticisms they were a famous couple from a big hallyu hit drama. I was there. He got all sort of criticisms during the divorce announcement too, even his Arthdal costar Kim Ok Bin wasn’t spared, she got malicious bashers during that time as well. Because of this, her instagram comments are generally open, but her posts related to Arthdal Chronicles during the time of the divorce back in 2019 are not. Let’s just stop discussing his private life and focus on his work. As long as he’s not a criminal, I will continue supporting.

I want my peace of mind to celebrate his work as I’ve admired his acting since he was a supporting actor so I’m gonna have to block anyone calling him a red flag. Do it on other pages not here. He’s not a rapist/bully/gaslighter so I don’t get why he still gets criticized after 5 years of divorce. He has also suffered the same as his ex wife after divorce, which is only natural since they were a big hallyu star couple. You would not bash him all the same if his ex is NOT some big hallyu star would you? Shows how hypocritical you all are.

Okay, maybe the way he announced it might not be the most ideal but I don’t get why he’s still getting hate for it now after more than 5 years. I’m just tired of his ex fans blabbing over it agin and again. And it’s also been used to accuse him of not making her aware about the divorce prior to announcement. Who knows whether she knew if they are getting divorced or not when he made the announcement? For all we know they could have talked about it and he was just the one who announced it. I’m just tired of people cancelling him over this. Yes she suffered, but he also did, he got the backlash more internationally even until now. Even his poor wife did not get safe from this backlash, people calling her the reason they got divorced anong other accusations when some Italians who liked her work can profess she was in Italy when all these happened.
The only thing that was true during their divorce was the announcement, nothing else was confirmed (affairs from either side or rumors of him not telling her). So I don’t see why someone like him deserve to get more criticism.
Sorry maybe I’m getting a bit sensitive but I’m just tired of the internet treating him the same way they do treat rapists/gaslighters who still work.
I don’t want this subject repeated here all over again. Do it on a separate page not on a page where we want to show support to SJk and his acting career. If you’re gonna talk about the divorce here all over again, in a way that mightget him hate again I’m gonna have to block you even if you made some valid points. I just want my peace of mind celebrating his work.
I say let’s just moved on from this. He seems happy and she seems happy too, who knows maybe she has a partner already which she’s just not announcing because of her trauma from public breakups from 3 celebrities in the past.

Oh sorry it was the movie

I don’t really know to be honest, have only seen him in Castaway Diva due to Park Eun Bin (an actress I used to always see as the teen versions of some characters in historical dramas). It’s also where I first knew about him. He did quite good there. I checked his biography so far I think the projects he’s been in are the ones I saw being talked about in kdramaland, (Hot Stove League, Nevertheless) though I haven’t seen them. And So Hyun has more awards than him. I am a long time kdrama fan like you too, in the same page as you that is being confused by the comment. Though I think they are basing it on the fact that So Hyun’s recent projects are not big hits. I forgot to mention though that she only took a few projects since 2020.

Can’t believe someone has the courage to say the male lead of her latest upcomingdrama will carry Sohyun on his back just because her post 2020 projects are not super well received. Sohyun has been well known and have fans who loved her for many years even before the male lead debuted, the low ratings of some of her recent projects is not her fault. I like the male lead’s acting, but his fans should be humble. As an actor stays longer in the industry, most of them will experience some failed projects and that should not demean them
