I have loved moon chae won since Innocent man. I would love to see her work with SJK again
love Joongki but Chaewon will just get unnecessary haters (ex: immature fans of SJK ex wife) if she paired with him again especially as she's been shipped with him in the past and she got a lot of hate when he was in his DOTS era , she even closed her instagram. As Chae Won is announced here first, most likely she'll be the top-billing actor which she surely can't if Song Joong Ki is the male lead since he has bigger clout than her. I want her to get more popularity and love before she works with him again. I want her to be remembered for more projects than just being SJK's female lead.
Now that you mention it, I would absolutely love to watch a Kdrama adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Novel is…
I'd rather Goguryeo or Silla or Japanese period personally as I'm not a big fan of Goryeo period, but it's fine. The way I think this story will work is that Elizabeth is nobility, Darcy is related to the local magistrate on his father's side while his mother and Lady Catherine are daughters of a prince (in the original they are daughters of an earl hence they have "lady" titles). The Bingleys are former merchants whose father was favored by the king hence they are seen as almost equal to the Darcys. I'm trying my best to incorporate Korean cultures and titles to how it works in Britain.
what a great idea, the 1993 movie with Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh was fantastic. I think Twelfth Night…
it's from 2011 and it stars Moon Chae Won from Flower of Evil, it's technically her most acclaimed performance as she received a Baeksang nomination for this role.

also a good idea though I'd rather want Sense and Sensibility or Emma since I feel like many kdramas has the elements of Pride and Prejudice (rich arrogant male lead is actually a kind hearted person).
I didn't read her books yet...are they really that good?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN7j7Ey-cM0 --> you can try watching this movie, I think the characters in this version of Persuasion really captures the characters from the book (though Wentworth's actor is a bit too old even if he's great).

Yes, while they're set in the regency period, some ofthe characters' characteristics can even be found today. One example is there's a character in one novel that boasts his that his carriage is so much better than his friend's carriage, quite similar to how some young men boasts of their newly bought cars. You can start by watching the movie or miniseries adaptations. Here are the adaptations I recommend: 1. Sense and Sensibility - 1995 movie with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet 2. Pride and Prejudice - 1995 miniseries with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth (Barbie 2023 movie referenced this) 3. Mansfield Park - 1999 movie (haven't watched the 2007 movie though) 4. Emma - 2009 miniseries with Romola Garai, there's a recent 2020 movie with Anya Taylor Joy but the 2009 miniseries is so much better as many characters are fleshed out 5. Northanger Abbey - 2007 movie with Felicity Jones, JJ Feild, and Carey Mulligan 6. Persuasion - 1995 movie with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds
I am glad someone mentioned Maurice. I keep thinking that they could do a modern Chinese adaptation of this drama…
The Merchant Ivory movies of A Room with a View and Howards End (also by E.M Forster) are both really amazing, I was on a classic British movies and shows mode last year. It would be interesting to see them as kdramas (haven't seen Maurice since Hugh Grant is not a fave though he's good in Sense and Sensibility).
Sense and Sensibility - The actress playing Marianne Dashwood must have Moon Chae Won's (can't cast her as she's too old unless the adaptation will not follow OG characters' ages) melo skills when enacting melo-romance dramas, also the actor playing John Willoughby must be more handsome (or at least does have more of an "oppa" look that attracts many fangirls) than actors playing Colonel Brandon and Edward Ferrars. Elinor Dashwood's actress must be very good at subtlety in acting as she rarely shows what she truly feels so that the audience can see in her eyes what she truly feels while still making it sensible why the other characters' couldn't. Emma - would have loved to see this as well, I want this to be a female centric drama about an imperfect character, I find many kdrama reviewers less forgiving of female leads with imperfections compared to male leads, that's why I hope this kind of story will be popular.
I know it's a play and not a book but I feel like Much Ado About Nothing would make a good rom-com kdrama. I feel…
what a great idea, the 1993 movie with Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh was fantastic. I think Twelfth Night might be a good one as well, except there's already a lot of crossdressing Korean dramas. The Princess Man (2011) had the label of Joseon's Romeo and Juliet, but I think this one has many Shakespearean elements like Hamlet and Richard III in its story. The best part was that they were not planning these other Shakespearean elements since most of the main characters and the political events in this drama are based on real life (and they lived about 100-200 years before Shakespeare).
Most of the drama just focus on the leads' frienship, attraction comes later on. You will really enjoy their friendly…
https://kisskh.at/162-gumiho-tale-of-the-foxs-child --> please try this one as well. It's a fantasy sageuk (there are gumihos), there is some romance, but the main plot focus on parents and children. I'm not sure how people will find this out but I found this story really unique. Kim Yoo Jung's (who's the kid Shin Yun Bok here in Painter of the Wind) most beloved project when she was a kid is Moon Embracing the Sun, but this gumiho drama is what I believe her best acting as a child actress. Moon Sun was is something I think would be easy for her to act due to her amazing acting here in this gumiho drama (this drama was 2 years before Moon Sun).
Just watched the 1st episode and I’m liking it so far. Jo Jung Suk (ML) is always a joy to watch and Shin Sae…
Glad someone else mentioned Painter of the Wind (2008), it irks me to no end when people remember Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010) more when a lot of the crossdressing aspects in Sungkyunkwan was borrowed from Painter (both female leads entered an all male institution, both female leads wore a gisaeng outfit for a secret mission, there is an actual gisaeng loving the female lead, female lead has an evil colleague who's the son of one of the villains in the show).
Coffee Prince is the only kdrama I have seen where the girl really looked and behaved like a boy… That was believable
Painter of the Wind with Moon Geun Young for me. Most people who watched the drama shipped her with the female gisaeng rather than the male lead (it did help that the male lead was almost 2 decades older than her though).
Women dressed as men appear in so many fusion sageuks that it's nothing out of the ordinary. Sungkyungwan Scandal…
Moon Geun Young from 2008's Painter of the Wind is the most believable playing a man. It was the crossdressing drama that has the most interesting take on the crossdresser's gender identity especially as her potential love interests are not the usual conventional handsome young men (one of them is even a girl and the crossdresser was the one attracted to the girl first).
