Glad someone else mentioned Painter of the Wind (2008), it irks me to no end when people remember Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010) more when a lot of the crossdressing aspects in Sungkyunkwan was borrowed from Painter (both female leads entered an all male institution, both female leads wore a gisaeng outfit for a secret mission, there is an actual gisaeng loving the female lead, female lead has an evil colleague who's the son of one of the villains in the show).

Painter of the Wind with Moon Geun Young for me. Most people who watched the drama shipped her with the female gisaeng rather than the male lead (it did help that the male lead was almost 2 decades older than her though).

Moon Geun Young from 2008's Painter of the Wind is the most believable playing a man. It was the crossdressing drama that has the most interesting take on the crossdresser's gender identity especially as her potential love interests are not the usual conventional handsome young men (one of them is even a girl and the crossdresser was the one attracted to the girl first).

The first rumor of her having kids only came after SJK announced his relationship with her (before he announced marriage and baby). Certainly these are not true. I forgot the websites but there’s no mention in some Italian websites (about the update of the actors in her 2004 cult hit movie) about her having any children.

He’s a very talented actor. I do think his best acted works are all before he did his military service. I actually wished he focused on movies though because I’m tired of bashers like you.

The first drama (Time Between Dog and Wolf) of him and the female lead has some similar elements to this one. Both his characters in both dramas are presumed dead, he took on another identity, villain's daughter is in love with him (though in this drama, the villain is the father of the second female lead while the villain in Time Between Dog and Wolf is the father of the female lead). It was quite a good drama and good melo too I recommend it.

it would make much more sense if he pairs up with Min Ah and Ji Hyun with Young Dae (based on the actors' ages).

Kim So Hyun was extremely good in this drama. She was so good here as an antagonist some fans of this drama can't accept her as Yeo Jin Goo's partner in the drama Missing You (a drama produced some months after Moon Sun). There is also some depth to her acting, she is hateful but I did pity her when she was crying when Yeo Jin Goo's character chose Yoo Jung over her.

she's not a single mother, the kid in some pictures with her is the kid of her friend. nothing wrong with being a single mother but that information is not true. his wife may not be super popular but she did act in a cult hit movie in italy as a female lead in 2004 along with riccardo scamarcio (he's in kenneth branagh's movie a haunting in venice among other international productions). some italians reacting to her marriage were surprised that "babi" (name of her character in her 2004 movie) is marrying vincenzo cassano. seeing as her cult hit movie was quite known even if she wasn't super popular in italy, there would have at least been update of her having children at least. i think there was no mention of her having children as a single mother prior to song joong ki's announcement of his relationship with her.

he also released a movie in Cannes and also filmed other movies as well.

Liking Lee Hanee, she's like a female Iljimae. It's a very interesting concept, this show.

Tuning in for Sohyun. This has 2521 vibes. Hope she has equal screentime as the male lead

Yoo Seung Ho? Na In Woo? Both these actors are amazing as well and they act well with So Hyun. It's just that So Hyun's character in Ruler Master of the Mask isn't her strongest while her drama River Where the Moon Rises with Na In Woo didn't have him as the original male lead and the focus went to the drama's scandal. I think her chemistry with Na In Woo in particular was amazing.
Yeo Jin Goo and Lee Tae Ri (was with Sohyun in 2011 Thorn Birds before they both did Moon Embracing the Sun and Rooftop Prince, the older versions of their characters are the main leads in this 2011 show) who were paired with her as fellow young versions of main actors were good too.
