Yeah, no worries. As I said - I loved that they left us guessing and deducting things out of clues, so it’s not a problem for me to reply. But I get it this is not for everyone. I agree on the big dose of luck, but it is also something I liked - that the ML is not perfect and his plans are not always successful and that he could have been caught at any moment, it added to the suspence for me.

That’s what I loved about the series. They left things unsaid, but also left a lot of clues for us to interpret them and to understand them. They made us part of the revealing of the story.

1. Because they know themselves and they know that they are allies because they want power and they can betray anyone. It’s the classic - “I think the others would do to me what I would do to them”. I can’t remember the letter you are talking about.
He didn’t trust ZH, but ZH was useful to him because he is smart and can help him find the Gui seal - the marquise is someone who uses people that are handy to him and that is what ZH used to trick him.

2.The kid was hidden underground and only someone from the rooftop could see him. ZBW decided to keep him alive after he saw Kui Duo take his life - because now no one knew where he has hidden the Gui seal, but his son could’ve been manipulated into finding it. Because of revenge and because he could probably solve his father’s riddles, if any.
If you remember, the marquise left after the killings and left his ppl to deal with the corpses and the fire. And the masked man appeared way after everyone has left. So he’s had enough time to be in the carriage and then return. Also, there was the possibility that Kui Duo told his son about the Gui seal.

3. As I said - the marquise wanted to use ZH. But also, ZH and his master tricked him with the prophecy. He accepted Zhuang Zhifu’s death because he was of no use to him anymore. The marquise is classic narcissist. He accepted even the killing of the only person he has ever had true feelings for.

4. Because ZH is Kui Duo’s son - I suppose he accepted that Kui Duo told his son about the seal before the massacre.

5. Actually, ZH didn’t have much time to search for the seal. He found it pretty fast just in the beginning of his search for the third culprit. Maybe otherwise he would have used it.

6.He didn’t faint. It was ZBW that poisoned him based on what he told ZH in the prison - he got rid of everyone that could help ZH in the palace. Or at least everyone he thought could help ZH.

7. Because as we saw in these series - it’s not the eldest that gets the crown, but whoever is appointed by the ruler. Her sister told AnTu that their mother was more inclined to AnTu and if she hadn’t died so suddenly, she would have appointed AnTu as heir (this is implicated by the words of the elder sister). She seemed to hate her sister for that and was willing to do anything with anyone in order to suppress AnTu. They are not sworn enemies, the states are more like forced allies. Usually when a kingdom sends a royal child as a hostage, this means that they surrender to the winning State, but they get to keep their independence and the hostage royal is preventing them to attack the winning State. This is something a lot of dramas are using as plot line.

8. Heart attack? He was seen holding his chest. He’s old and weak, a person CAN die out of fear and the brain can even trick you to feel pain where there isn’t. There are a lot of studies about fathom pain. They are not bound to wake up when the illusionary soldiers kill… this was never the case in this drama. They are more bound to kill themselves thinking it’s the soldiers that are killing them.
It was way before marquise’s death. Don’t forget that ZBW is the masked man and the third culprit. He knew what ZH was about to ask from ZZX and he certainly approached him way before the marquise made him an heir. He sad many times to ZH that he was a step in front of him.

The last 15 minutes of ep 26 are my most favorite in the series. I have already rewatched them countless times.

No new eps until Saturday and then only 1 ep per day.

They are not different. It is manipulated, but to sound muffed because of the mask.

There is some kind of potion in the gui seal that, combined with blood, speeds the wounds healing and prevents those who drink it from feeling pain. But because of this potion/poison those people become mad - maybe it suppresses all their feelings and clear mind. ZBW gave this potion to a soldier to test it, they didn’t capture someone. But ZBW didn’t know this will make the people go crazy.

Meanwhile, the walls in the cave were painted with something like a drug that makes you hallucinate when inhaled and see the Ghost soldiers. So, basically there are no ghost soldiers.

Yes! He was killed by his own greediness and ambitions. In fear. Without anything grandeur. I think all their deaths were a reflection of their life.

They said he was the son of one of the princes. The prince is mentioned at the beginning of the series during the problem with the empress burial.

XBW poisoned him, I think. That's why he was mumbling that ZH was right before dying. That's why the prince believed ZH's friends.

1. Ep 31. Their story is a side story, so up until the last 10 episodes, they are not together, but they have really sweet scenes at the beginning.
2 and 3 Not a breakup, cause they weren’t together, but a misunderstanding. 4-5 eps in total, but they do meet in them as well.

5 and 6 - No, no SL, no exes.

My thoughts exactly. The ML is young and underprepared, it’s realistic of him to make mistakes and not think of the big picture. It would have been more on the fantasy side if a 20 -something yrs old would have been capable of putting down an experienced powerful villain on the first try.

It was the only CGI really noticeable, it put me a bit off given how good the lights and settings were throughout the whole series.

Yes, he was his ally and I suppose he was his ally way before his dad made him heir. Cause ZBW as the third culprit and the masked man knew what ZH was doing and worked ahead of him to lure ZZX to his side.

Yeah, him, I count him as an initially bad, but redeemed good.

Apart from ML’s family: Countless bad guys, 1 redeemed guy.

1. It was the emperor that told the prince ZH was right so I suppose the prince believed ZH’s allies.
2. When he gave he tea after he “killed” ZH in the prison.
3. Because she thought AnTu wanted the throne since she was their mother’s favorite daughter.
4. He was poisoned, probably by ZBW.

It was his imagination seeing himself entering the city before everything happened. The actual guy (not the ZH from the past) didn’t look like him.

Yes! I really hope for S2, there’s also a hot search on Weibo with ppl requesting S2. I think the authors left enough for a second season.
