I think it's a mixture of both but probably more spite, she doesn't seem that jealous, and if she is jealous then she's probably buried it under spite. I love the dynamic between LR and PWX so much, they actually have conversations and interact in a normal way which I honestly don't find that common in dramas.

I'm going to continue watching this drama because I am honestly really enjoying it even with all of its flaws, I'm holding out hope that since it's only around a quarter through the drama, many of the issues brought up will also be acknowledged in the drama and will be properly resolved. I can understand your perspective though of course. And your point about the lack of realism in some historical Chinese dramas that are not xianxia is very valid too.

I understand where you're coming from, however he is in love with LR. He also understands that LR is at fault, as shown when he confronts her at the end of Ep11. He's not blind to her faults, that's why he's trying his best to push her in an attempt for her to grow and become a better person. I know what you mean about how he could easily go and get involved with another woman, however, it can't be changed that he likes LR, that's the whole point of the drama.
