thankfully, they cleared up this misunderstanding very early. originally i thought the misunderstanding would drag for a really long time, but they finished it quickly, which is really nice.

because this drama has been fast paced in solving misunderstandings so far (PWX poisoning LR, PWX's feelings for QZZ), it has affected the expectations for the love story. But there's still 25 episodes left to see how it will develop.

I agree, LR hasn't established to either of them abt her feelings clearly. For PWX, whenever she talks abt SRQ, she only ever talks abt politics, but she's never expressly said that she doesn't love SRQ. For SRQ, the fact that she's married should be enough for him to think that the door is closed. How delusional is he?

When she furiously pulls out the sword and demands that they barge in, and when she slaps the uncle are definitely the best parts. All she did for SRQ was saying "I will not let you slander him in the slightest!" while sitting on a chair and coughing.

I think that LR was just super shocked that she was wrong about PWX and QZZ all this time. She also said herself in that scene that she knows about the past now but regarding the present, she's still unsure (she's fully aware of his feelings in the past life thanks to that confession, but she's unsure about how he feels in the present). Keep in mind that although PWX poured his heart out to LR in that scene, he was talking about the past life more than the present life. The only times that he mentioned the present life is saying that he doesn't and has never loved QZZ, and telling her to be better at communicating etc. He also used past tense when describing his feelings for her "Li Rong, I truly loved you" "The one that I loved and lost was you". Although for the viewers it's obvious that he still loves her, there's nowhere in that confession where he says "I love you right now, in the present".

It's the way that neither of them being fully honest about their feelings could lead to a never-ending cycle of PWX mentioning their relationship then playing it off, which makes LR think that he doesn't like her, so whenever she mentions their relationship, she plays it off and he thinks she doesn't like him, and so on. Funny at the expense of the characters.

You're definitely right, he's sending "mixed signals" as he doesn't know how she feels about their relationship. He said in Ep11 that he knows what he wants, and I think he assumes that she knows what he wants too. Especially as he's more open about his emotions than her, and more physically intimate. She definitely is unsure and thinks that he just loved her in the first life, while he thinks that his feelings are clear. That's just my theory though.

100%, they can understand each other on both mental and emotional levels, and they have chemistry as friends and political allies as well as lovers. They just fit together, and I would argue that if the misunderstandings between them hadn't happened, they would have become a power couple in the court and in their personal life, which is on track to happen in their second life. Although many commenters are unsatisfied with their current dynamic, I find it a fun one of them being 'besties'.
