Ashes of Love, thousand times better than this one .
Me too. Then sorry, I don't think I can advise anything, if you saw that you probably saw all of the better ones. I am looking for something new, too, not even this type just new and not modern but so far I found nothing.

I mean not the best but definitely not as bad as ratings lol, it should be maybe like 8.2 or 8.3,.overall decent…
Should be 4 or 5 max. So far it was the worst drama of ZHL and it was not his fault. Waste of time and talent.

Title Love’s Rebellion Spoiler
Deserves more ratings
Less. Sorry, still so disappointed. CGI and good looking actors but with no substance, total lack of intelligent solutions and script, lack of proper editing, lack of chemistry between the leads, lack of passion and strong emotions. I couldn't feel for them, I couldn't stand with them, I couldn't live "in the drama". It was an insult to intelligence and so boring. Cheap solutions everywhere for everything. As if a machine, an AI would write and directed it based on pieces of "what peope like" put together with no connection to one piece to another. It was emotionally exceptionally empty, machine like, how a machine "imagine and translate" human emotions. Not a single character / action was believable xanxia or not. You would sacrifice your life for the other but have no passion? Then what moves you?
Compared to Story of Kunning palace, while it was not so romance focused, it was full with clever, unique solutions, even the supporting actors and their characters were very good, you could feel with them, Xie Wei as grabs back his cookies a bit infantile but absolutely loveable, the girl with the little towel mimicing it was a cat, that consuming fire level hatred coming from Xie Wei before shooting the arrow and it was just a look, expression better than 100 words. I loved everyone in that series was bad or good or grey, the plot was intelligent and entertaining and the characters also. The guy who killed the horse, I hated him but the character was perfect, beliavable, I could understand what leads his actions.
Absolute waste of talent and time.

Sorry but you missed the point, in the middle of a culling agenda, affecting you and me while diverting us to "enjoy movies and series" is an ongoing stuff. While I am aware, I still wish to have some happy moments, melting into a good drama or gardening or whatever.
While I highly appreciate your feelings being so nicely emotional and EMPHATIC, the world around us is highly different.
Flower of Evil was a good drama, with two very talented leads.
But please notice how we are "dumbed down".
Another little secret / discovery of mine, ZHL (and I really love him) did photos with satanic (symbolism) stuff, one eye, eye covered with a blue butterfly, clotes and make up made him to look like a woman but a man.
This is the end - for me at least - I see through of the mind altering, ruining mind control, if I ever see him again to bend to the satanist cult sacrifising himself for money and fame during a time when humanity is culled - that's the end.

WAKE UP.

Forgive me, I can be biased, I live in the west and grew up on Hollywood (when they were able to good movies and dramas but nowadays). I turned towards Asian dramas for replacement and The Princess Man was one among the first ones I saw. While I dislike more Asian dramas then I liked (especially dramas about the present days), I found them most of the time boring and dragged but the new customs, visual stuff still hooked me. I can't recall an outstanding performance in these first dramas, except this one and maybe the acting in Bichunmoo. I came to the conclusion that Moon Chae Won is a very talented actress and the emotions she portrayed in this drama was "Oscar level" to me. It was a very complex drama, struggling between her father and love, a kind of Asian Romeo and Juliette, and she played her part very well. She is a good actress, but as I wrote somewhere, even good actresses or actors can't build a castle from sh...

I haven't seen the rest of the episodes because I have an exam today but I am hoping the ratings increase on MDL,…
Forgive me pls, but I hope for the opposite, this drama is almost overrated with a 6 given. Think about the wilder impact, people who lost interest in watching Hollywood brainwashing, propaganda and many times totally sick dramas and movies turned towards Asia for replacement. People tend to pick up dramas based on the scores it got. If this carries on like this we (at least me) won't see much difference between the two. In fact I went so bored with this one (and annoyed, too because of my high hopes for this based on both of the lead actor/actress) that I rather bingle read a book in the past 2-3 days than carried on watching. Still annoyed, so sorry for my rant and amount of comments. Nowadays people are treated by fim-makers as if we all would be either idiots or 14 years old. Tons of CGI won't help on the lack of substance.

Why is there always age shaming of the actress for being to old to play the part? I prefer a great actress who…
Is it really shaming? People have a thing called charisma, aura, or name it as you wish. Even older people can have a more childish aura, who remained childish in their minds and mature people like Jing Tian, can have a mature area independently how young she looks. Her aura, charisma is an aura of a matured (in mind), beautiful, intelligent woman. I felt her off every time she tried to be cute and inexperienced. Not her fault, I guess she has an agent to pick up roles for her. Rattan was boring to me (mainly due to the long, boring parts of the supporting cast) but as long as I watched it, that fit her well, the character in City of Streamer also fit her very well. In that one she also played a younger woman, and older than the ML, but that was ok, their relationship and love was absolutely beliavable, her choices and actions as the drama unfolded were also.

I'm going to take a break from Chinese drama until fang of fortune airs
Trying to find a good, older ones I haven't seen. I decided to pick up dramas based on the director rather than based on the actors. I think the director of Ashes of Love, also Story of Kunning Palace, are the closest to being my cup of tea. I saw many more from him, and they were also good enough to keep me interested, Starry Love, Blue Wishper, the pillow book of Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. I just feel so sorry for the actors.

I'm on episode 28 and still don't understand the character of ML! I mean what was his reason for going to valley…
This is - in my opinion - because the character was poorly written. He had no real personality, but true for the FL's, to. I couldn't carry on after 28th, I just lose focus and my mind went elsewhere. ZHL is handsome, true, very hot, true, has charisma, but still too less to stick in front of the monitor for 25-30 hours or so. If I want an eye-candy only a poster would do. The chemisty between them was much rather a sister-brother's or very good friends but lovers. If you want to know how they act when the chemistry and characters are good, watch the City of Streamer for Jing Tian and the Story of Kunning Palace for ZHL. This was such a waste of their time, talent and our time, too.

Can you suggest me a drama that has no boring part 😂
Story of Kunning Palace - I can't recall a boring part in that, because that drama was intelligent, even when it was just a "cats' fight" those parts were also well written, unique and interesting. All of the actors were very good, even the supporting ones. I wish I could forget it to start it again.

What a nonsense love story 🙄
Maybe but that was not the point, as a political-intelligence point of view it was absolutely great, all the supporting acors and roles were great, there was not a boring minute in the drama. Their love and endurance, suffeing was over the top. Love is about emotions, if you can tell why you love a certain person then something is missing because love is not about the brain but a strange attraction. Please forgive me to say this, but if you think love depends on your mind and balancing about benefits (what the girl did to the boy's family - your previous comment) you have no idea what love is and how it "works" Peace.

She is talented and absolutely lovely, her perfomrance in this was over the top, also in the Flower of Evil. I came to the conclusion that many of them are not poor actors, the script, directing and serving are poor but them. She also had a cute movie I liked a lot but being honest, I like the ML a lot, too. Mood of the Day.

Bicheonmo or Bicheonmoo, there are two versions, a Chinese (longer with less cuts) and a Korean (castrated). This is the Korean adaptation (makes the story uneven), try to find the Chinese please.
(Didn't allow link to put here, sorry.)
I bought it on DVD but was very poor quality, later I found it on Avista, better quality. The story is heartbreaking but rather good.

To be honest, he had good, sparkling chemistry with only one actress, Bai Lu. They should be put together in other dramas. The chemistry now is still better than it was in the My Journey. Still, he is the only reason I carry on watching this series, his acting is good, the poor script is not his fault or the FL's. She was also very good in other dramas. The rest of them are just meh, shame, the man who played the duke in the Kunning is also a good actor and was very good in that drama. Actors alone can't built a castle from sh...
