Hm, love does not ask if you straight or gay. Character development doesnt ask if you are straight or gay. Everyone has to face their demons, their secrets, their shame, cheating, lying, deception, etc and step forward into the abyss. A real masterpiece will go into the dept of that core human issue.

I agree with you that Seong so far was not explained much. But he is not an important person in Hee Soo life yet so ... there is no reason to explain him. RIght now, he is a little noise on the horizon.
I disagree on insisting on the "original" part. They took one story and adapted it and made a great story. The point here is not to copy the manga but to create a good story and I think they did. If ppl dont like it then... so be it. This kind of show wont be shown again LOL

Sure, being in class is THE best way to meet him. But she wasnt just in class. She kept waiting in ambush before class or other places and forcing him to face her and talk with her. He disliked it. She was bothering him and he could have gotten a TRO against her LOL

Yes she did not follow him to his house etc but ... she was there to meet him before the class etc, she just made sure to BE there to talk to him in private sooo many times... and she did not communicate well, she just kept saying - leave her! - and yes she was bothering him, he kept saying go away.

to be blunt, I am a hetero person so it is interesting to see the bias of the lgbt+ and their insistence on watching JUST the HS-SW dates and romance. The world is a big wide place and it is diverse. So we get how the human being Hee Su navigates it. Romance and eros are just one part of his life. Developing his character and maturing his ability and capability for LOVE is the key point here and it is most definitely not boring. The drama shows his interactions with the world and right now he is obsessed with Chan, so we gonna see Chan the most!!!!! unti SW finds ways to get into Hee Su's life. But right now, SW is lying and really praying on Hee Su so SW gotta grow up first too... SO IT IS GOING TO BE SLOW SINCE THERE IS THE PAST LUGGAGE THAT HAS TO BE RESOLVED FIRST...

This kdrama is about the same old theme, of the main character having some character flaws and having to overcome those flaws. So far Hee Su is immature, he pretends to be someone who he is not, and now challenges are happening and drawing him out. Isnt that exciting?

This same "inner and outer conflict" plot happens with so many themes. My Dearest Nemesis was about someone not being accepted bc he loved animations and video games and cartoons. THis kdrama is about a gay dude. Potato Lab is about a corporate killer robot and a dumped cheated discarded corporate pion hiding in the boonies. For Eagle Brothers has Chairman who told himself he will never like any woman after his wife died and then he runs into a fresh widow who also said she is not interested in men after her husband died 10 days after wedding. And so on... Hee Su doesnt want to confess to Chan but he also sees no future and he is stuck. People have wounds... and have to clean it out and throw it out.
ALL THESE CHARACTERS HAVE DECIDED TO HIDE THEIR TRUE SELF AND PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE ELSE TO MAKE THEIR LIFE EASIER AND THEN IT BACKFIRES ON THEM.

YOU WONT GET TO SEE REAL DATES BETWEEN HEE SOO AND SEONG UNTIL BOTH OF THEM CLEAN THEIR WOUNDS AND HEAL AND THEN THEY CAN MOVE ON AND BE TOGETHER. Hee Soo has to give up Chan and come out of closet. Seong needs to give up being controlling and praying on Hee Soo, confusing and startling Hee Soo, lying to Hee Soo and come out of closet too.

HOW CAN THERE BE DATES WHEN THERE IS NO LOVE?? SEONG IS STILL LYING TO HEE SOO AND CAUSING ANXIETY TO HEE SOO. THAT IS NOT LOVE.

Hee Su too, he is even more scared, Hee Su is still in ANIO! CHOLTE!!!! and slavering to Chan from distance. So why would Chan leave his obedient loyal slave? we need to see that. Why would Hee Soo give up 10 years of obsesssion? We need to see that too.

well then get out of here if you dont see the value of this kdrama. Imo it is a doing a great job of treating all people equally and showing a life and development of a really nice guy who happens to be gay and has to resolve those wounds and conflicts to grow up. This egalitarian treatment will do a lot to bring peace to the world.

Seong is NOT in HeeSu's life yet. So how can you get to see him a lot??? Chan is still the focus of Hee Su's life.

They want to see HS-SW dates, seems like. It is entirely possible that complainers are gay guys and they want to see more of "their" world but the world is not so isolated, it is diverse, imo it is good that this kdrama shows a diverse mix and how everyone lives just fine in that diverse mix. I understand why lgbt+ would like to watch just this part of this world but that is no different than the stale hetero behavior. Get used to diversity, everyone.

Chun is still the focus of Hee Su's life. And he is leaving just now and Hee Su is watching it. We need to know how those 2 were together. how they are falling apart and WHY. Chan's hetero relationship is affecting Hee Soo and creating his new relationship. like the faked blind date and then a real date with Seong.

We also get to see how Hee Soo and Chang fell apart and why. And what their relationship really was about. Did Chun like Hee Su as a dedicated slave? Was Chun giving the carrot juice and then gave up since Hee Su is so determined to look hetero, keep Chan away and never confess? In any case, Chan;s heart really went to Summer. And that is affecting Hee Soo. He went on date with Seong because of it. We wont get to see HS-SW dates until there is something new to show :)

I think Hee Soo gets most time anyways and the hetero couple is not hogging it, esp since Summer is Seong's friend and treats him well, and did not judge him when he admitted he is gay and likes Hee Soo. At the end, they will end up as a group of good friends, most likely. And that is the kind of ending you want :)

Hm... I dont think so. I think this is deep. Summer is arrogant big potato star, everyone kisses her a## and she ignores everyone... Chan also is a star and everyone kisses his a##, he is just a little bit more polite... ... Their meeting and falling for each other and his TRYING to woo her is remarkable. He behaved as if he liked Hee Soo romantically or maybe hid that he liked him, but was it for convenience bc Hee Soo was such a devoted fan? Also, did he fall for the girl bc he thought there is no hope with Hee Soo since Hee Soo was acting soooooooo ANIO!!!! CHOLTE!!!! denying any liking and staying hidden deep in the dark part of his closet... But I am not sure. Sometimes I cannot recognize the faces so I am not sure who it was that wondererd if annonymous comments online about carrot juice. Did Chun leave those comments? Seong?

Imo it is necessary. We get to see how and why Hee Soo was obsessed about Chan Young . Also we get to see the inner workings of ChanY because he kinda behaved gay and led Heesoo on but then switched, his heart went to Summer. Seems like he liked Hee Soo as convenience "servant and fan" and not for real. And things like that happen in real life. I think that it is better to sidestep the manga and show this because real life is diverse and also many different plots come out of this. Unfortunately. The plots come out of the confusions generated by lgbt+ trying to hide.

Imo bc Hee Su and Seong didnt hook up and they are not spending much time together yet. HeeSoo has a whole different life now, with Chan as the focus and Seong just a minor irrelevant character at this point. Chan is THE point of objection right now and Hee Soo gotta get out of that stagnant old part of his life first - and he did not, yet... .

And since Seong is deeply in the deep dark corner of the closet, fishing in murky waters, actually praying on Hee Soo and confusing him - Seong is a wolf in sheep's clothing stalking Hee Soo - he is deceiving Hee Soo!!!! and praying on him under camouflage of straight - all all that has to be resolved first. Hey there are many more episodes.

Nah. HeeSu is the main dude here. And that is a good thing bc he is an excellect actor, we get to see him in most scenes. But since he thinks so much about Chan Young, we got to see why he is so obsessed about him.

imo the subtle charm is that there is no mentioning of lgbt+ as "bad" or "different" - the two friends are just talking about ppl who they like, in a normal way, without any hidden agendas to belittle anyone for their sexual orientation. She did not judge him. I think that is the value of this kdrama. She just had fun that she caught him red handed and also that she learned something new about him. She did not tease him, make fun of him, judge him, scold him for being bad, different, etc. She just took it as a normal thing that her friend loves someone

i disagree. I think they have chemistry. Ch dude and Summer is who I am talking about. I think their story has a place and makes for more plot. And more realistic plot since HeeSoo, Ch and ClassPresident are all deep in the closet and fishing in murky waters, creating TONS of confusion. I am still not sure, but Ch keeps showing gay behavior and then switched. There ARE ppl like that too. So ... hang on and enjoy the diversity of life. We cannot just jump into 100% gay world. I think the contribution of this drama is showing diversity.

As for the speed - well, life is not fast... As for FL/ML love, it has to be slow bc she just lost her husband and has to heal first. The Chairman has been cooking for 10-15 years as a single and healthy male, and he told himself his wife was the last one, so no wonder his hormones and his heart and brain and subconscious are SCREAMING now and he is drawn to FL like a moth to flame. But ... ANIO! CHOLTE! his mind doesnt allow it.... he is scared of grieving again, I think.
Sooner or later he will have to admit that he is alive, healthy and has feelings, and that his wife was NOT the last one lol and that he has to risk going forward. He put himself in deep freeze for 10-15 years so first he has to push the button to defrost himself... That will take time since he is a big potato and used to being in charge so he will have a hard time admitting that his orders to himself were not executed lol

On the other hand, FL was a low post office worker in a small place, then lost her husband she loved so much and who was the first and only man in her life, seems like, and is now trying to overcome debt and run a business she is just learning - so she is busy busy busy busy. But remember, she just got back from the honeymoon and had fun :) :) :) and she is going to miss it :) So she WAS talking to the Chairman very comfortably without realizing it. I also thought she will go after the youngest brother :) But she is devoted to her dead husband, mentally... and emotionally. At this point, it is just her freshly activated hormones after 40 years of inactivity are asking for more.

She will not even admit to herself that she is thinking of men for a while until she heals enough to remember it again. Also, out of respect for her late husband. But it is coming. She is not so stuck mentally like that Chairman but emotionally she has to get a green light or forgiveness from her husband for "leaving him" - that is how she thinks now - and to put her dead husband into her past before she moves on.
The chairman too has to do that bc he keeps saying his dead wife was like the best and only person in the world. He has to let her go.

I think there is great acting by so many in this kdrama. The characters are totally believable. Since nobody mentioned this, I want to mention the excellent acting of the 2nd oldest son. That actor is amazing imo. And his old crush / future wife is also an amazing actor. That will be a great romance.

Also, the thing that is interesting is how "being nice" is not considered creepy. Like Seri asking to copy baby video to watch it at home... and getting that video. !?!

FL mom character is kinda cliche... but hey ... most moms are not perfect. FL mom is .. well... a mixed bag as is often the case. Her mixed character creates plot for annoying things happening at home :) I am not sure how she will get together with the bulky brewery guy, she gotta get more sense into her. It is too bad she will cause brewery trouble and draw Mr Silla chief into the mix. I doubt that Mr. Silla will ever be a nice guy. Something is off. Or maybe I rememer Flower of Evil every time I see him :) Lately I am starting to forget that when I see him. I see him as Mr. Silla now :) but still I think he is not nice guy and never will be. We will see.... On the other hand, his wife seems to have some decency left in her although ... she is ... perhaps out of her mind and too far gone for that. To train your own child from day 1 to grab someone else's hotel is .. well... mental illness. And as far as fashion, I find her clothes the cheesiest. Expensive tacky looking clothes :)

I agree with everything you said minus the red thing LOL Mom is a cream puff dame so ... dont be surprised at her fashion sense :) She looks good. Look at that skin at that age!
