I learned a lot from the comments. The original manga seems to be rather shallow. Hee Spp starts as a deeply closeted guy who kissed the dirt under Chun's feet for 10 years and has NO plans to confess. The story starts with Seong as a deeply closeted guy who stalks, deceives and lies to Hee Soo. So ........HOW DID HEE SOO AND SEONG CHANGE IN THAT "ORIGINAL" STORY? I think that I like this adaptation better. We see that Chun starts to grow first and he gets inspired by Summer and starts tennis because it is what he likes. Tennis is super important. Chun's zeel for tennis is super important. SUMMER INSPIRED HIM. Not Hee Soo. WHY? Bc HeeSoo is weak. He is just hiding and dragging on.

It is cheap to expect blossoming in the first few episodes where Hee Soo has an old crush he is not willing to confess to and has ANIO!!! CHOLTE!!! attitude to his gayness, and Seong is lying and DECEIVING Hee Soo and stalking him around and just making Hee Soo scared and is also deeply closeted.

Dont you think they gotta resolve a few issues on their own before they could form a pair? Or what do you want - some one night stand or something? At this point, even that is not possible.

Anyone who wants some shallow encounters fast and without character development and with lots of violence and explicit sex should go watch others.

I like this kdrama bc I think the kids are handling it to the best of their abilities at the moment, and it is not working, and they are brave enough to make steps to grow. So I am expecting they will figure out how to step forward with honesty and love.

This is a love story, not erotic encounters story. And Chun's story is important. Without Chun making first steps to GET OUT OF THE RUT and make steps with Summer and tennis and just blossom, Hee Soo would have not been pushed to make that blind date and then go out with Seong. And we dont know what happened with the chicken date... In any case, it was not eventful or important or else it would have been shown. It might get shown later as a memory flash when light bulb goes on...

I wont post comments here anymore bc the audience works on principles which I find unsuitable for me. Instead of having a discussion about character developlent, we are talking about watching dates between totally totally not ready Hee Soo and Seong and even blaming the filmmakers for leaving the gay couple out.

I find this audience unreasonable and perhaps there is a special genre that will have those fast hot and steamy encounters that this audience wants. I am not on that page, so sayonara.

I will definitely watch the show. Hee Soo is so mature for his age yet he hasnt resolved this big question in his life and I am curious to see how he will overcome his weakness.

I DO care for his tennis. He is totally INSPIRED AND DRIVEN. and it wasnt his slave of 10 years Hee Soo who made Chun inspired. It was Summer. WHY?

I agree. And I think the lack of proper date scene tells us exactly where they stand = Seong is a noise on the horizon to Hee Soo, he is not in Hee Soo's life and we watch Hee Soo and we know WHY. Hee Soo is scared and wont confess to Chun. Also, Seong is scared and wont confess to Hee Soo, he is deceiving Hee Soo and making him very scared, confused and uncomfortable. Hee Soo does not understand Seong's attention and suspects something but cant put his finger on it bc SEONG IS LYING NON STOP

Wow why do you call this "did not see ANY development"?? I saw... Seong basically stalking Hee Soo, being there for the badmington and catching Hee Soo, spying on his window, spying on him in school, talling to him in school, following him and preventing his confession, luring him into the psych club, waiting for him to go to school together, snagging his fake blind date, tracking the anonymous posts, folliwing his social media to track Hee Soo down and go there, inviting going out for chicken, confessing to Summer, etc. How is that counting as no development... ? This was a TON of stuff.

Hm if you cannot agree with me, you are NOT entitled to insult me. Also, you are not entitled to insult a romance between two 18 year olds and judge it as not mature. I think the kids in this drama are doing so well and a lot more mature than most adults I met.. LOL

And as for your recommendation, I just did a little search on that movie you recommended and it has visuals of naked ppl in bed etc. Is THAT called "mature"? Lets call it by the name. Do you want to see some visual eros in there?

There is always american movies for explicit sexual scenes and violence, if that is what you want to see. I will watch that movie a little bit to understand what you are talking about but the posters and images of that movie already makes me not want to watch it. Not bc I am straight but bc I like storytelling, not pornographic visuals about the details of someone else's intimate encounters. I find it distasteful, prying on them. Not bc I am straight....

If you are so curious, create your own personal encounters and enjoy yourself. Watching someone else doing it can never be that good :)

ok as you wish. From what I see, you are asking for the hetero washing in reverse, asking for all-gay world, just like the old hetero-dominance asks for all-hetero world. Ah such a good point. The fact that she said that he is not her type means that she already thought about it LOL I saw her eyeballing the brothers, remember when they met first and she was complimenting them on good looks. Before Chairman showed up I thought she will jump on the youngest brother. I think she is hungry. After being single for 40 years, she finally gets a husband and has fun romance eros and then POOOOF! it is all gone after 10 days. She must be missing it and thinking about it. So that will help to accept the Chairman. :)

Thank you for replying!!! When was that emotional meltdown, which scene, which episode? The last she saw him and Bom in the hotel lobby before they met the Chairman for lunch. Then there was one in that military town. But I did not see any emotional meltdown... ?

that "baby" is a foxy predator, not telling Hee Soo about his sexual preferences but trapping Hee Soo by deceit... Hee Soo is confused, scared and startled. At least Seong was able to be honest to Summer. Let's see if he becomes mature enough to be honest with Hee Soo. And Hee Soo too... he so scared and hiding deeeeep inside the closet.

Ah seems like you are going to miss the fine points of love here. Hee Soo was the slave of Chun for 10 years and still... Summer was the one who inspired Chun. Ponder why... Chun is not a jerk. He just wants to grow. Hee Soo wants to keep hiding and stay the same. Chun started growing first. Now Hee Soo is forced to :)

I think there is plenty of story between Hee Soo and Seong... Seong is praying on Hee Soo, lying, not telling that he is gay, so many times he scared and startled and confused Hee Soo.... Then he keeps trying to talk to Hee Soo and take him out... This is the beginning.... trying to get closer to Hee Soo but without being honest. That's no-go. Also, Hee Soo is busy worshiping Chun. Seong at this point has a good chance to drop out fast. He is a minor, irrelevant character!!!!! so far. He just confessed to Summer, so .... things might get rolling. Let's see how he overcomes it.

The fact is, Hee Soo is an outsider to Chan and we get to see Chan as Hee Soo sees him, from the outside... and a little bit more, since Chan is so important to Hee Soo so we as audience need to see what is behind the scenes.
So what exactly DO you want to see? If this is not your BL to your liking, what exactly IS to your liking and everyone else's?
I feels like talking with a group of people who like fast action movies and thrillers without much content the typical viewers. But this kdrama is a growing up and true love story, not Squid Games...
