yeah, Imo you nailed it!!! SR is shown as a teenager who ran away from home, she plays piano kinda for fun but we need to see her get that masters degree or a job or something where she is on her two feet and more equal to the prof. The script keeps her down as some airhead chick floating around without any real life skills AND WITHOUT ANY OOOMPH to get her guy.

I didnt think that Dancer's story took time away from others. Others had PLENTY of screen time. (Except Kang Su and Chairmans kids, they were forgotten by the script. ) And the tango couple- I wanted to see them on dates, they are actually most fun. The nasty Ex was on screen forever, I had too much of screen time of lukewarm GS, SeRi and Professor were hogging it, etc etc etc

GS and DS should get hitched first - MAYBE. She doesnt care for him. A woman in love would be calling him over the phone to ask him how he is, how he is doing, to wish him good night, to flirt a little bit, she would be inviting him to hang out and do things together and go places, even if it is a little lunch break while she delivers - SHE WOULD BE MAKING DATES WITH HIM, inviting him to come over for dinner, giving him gifts and good foods, neckties, whatever it is that he NEEDS, she would find out what he needs and create that for him, she would RUN when she sees him, and immediately grab his hands or hug him, or SOMETHING, at least she would LOOK at thim with that look.... and she aint doing ANY of that. She is either impotent or just doesnt like him. He is too old and stiff for her and I just do not feel they match physically. At all. She wants a younger guy. But she is allowing herself to be dragged around by this impotent old guy.

So ... they will likely hitch first.

SeRi and Professor need some time since HE is the adult and has to give her space to grow up. She is like a teenager looking up to the Authority Figure, and she hasnt grown up - just a little bit, at least she got out of bed and she can hold a job now. But she is not a WOMAN yet and so he cannot pounce on her.
SO I think the best thing is to show time as it is now - maybe speed up a little bit and show how the Chairman and GS get hitched - and honestly I do not see any progress there in that story!!!!!!! she is like a cow on a leash, very RELUCTANT and RESISTANT - she even doesnt know which date they should set up!!! he had to remind her it is wedding date. Her response was as if she swallowed a frog. She HATES the idea of that marriage.

But since the Chaiman is dragging her around, lets say they get married in the Fall. So show that wedding and them living happily ever after
and then do a time lapse to show how Professor and SeRI hitch once she grows up enough to be an adult. So perhaps there is ... like ... 1-2 years? lapse and she comes back to the family New Years or Ha Ni's bday or something and she is all grown up and they can finally look each other in the eye and hug for real.

MS and CS are a hopeless "senior" couple they will always feel like boring blah like they are roommates. I am not interested in their relationship at all. There is nothing to it really except loyalty. I dont see anything romantic there. We dont know what actually brings them together and how they spend their time. They are just ... blah. used as a filler with his ex wife...

Of all the couples, Baldy and Mom were the riot, I want to see more of their dance shennanigans...

Dancer and Hairdresser can also have an interesting plot as he becomes famous.
I was really disappointed to see comments "who is interested to watch a story of 4- yr old dancer" wow that is so ... snotty. In fact I am interested to watch that story. The Dancer was just very immature and the actor wasnt all that great, so that's why the story wasnt so interesting to me, plus Hairdresser at first was really off - but INTERESTINGLY I REMEMBER HER SCENES A LOT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE bc it was done well and she looked great.

KS and Bom have potential, her spewing that beer shows a lot of potential, so that love could go on its own tangent and bloom alongside.

SeRi's mom has a lot of potential. I remember her scenes bc she emotes. I am curious what she will become while DT is in jail.

Ok I solved the math timing problem :) I think some time lapses would be good. Because different love stories are cooking at the different speed. So here is my idea of the scenario. I put it as spoiler bc it is too long :)

And FYI I dont watch this drama anymore. I watch it while I am stretching, doing aerobics, etc. I dont really sit and pay attention because there isnt anything anymore to watch it is boring as characters are FROZEN STUCK in time. I will finish watching bc I want to know how the script acting etc goes, but I have no real interest anymore, last 20 episodes are deep freeze BORING

yeah. That is when I start watching other dramas. I am not invested in this one anymore. I am watching it while doing aerobics or something like that, not really watching it. The acting and the plot are just BLAH bland. I will watch till the end bc I will complete it, I want to study how this works - the script, etc - but I watch it only while I am doing something else.

SeRi actress is so bad that she is ruining it already with her bad acting. Plus yeah the silly script still calling him Professor. SeRi has not grown or changed at all since the early episodes. Ok yeah she got out of bed and can hold a job. Ok that much, she did grow up. But otherwise, NO.

yeah I totally see your point. And imo that is why the drama is that way - bland and politically correct - keeping the high ratings and not pissing off the audience. You are right, this is an improvement on the "stupid female" plot.

Yeah she SAID she wants to get married but her body language, her behavior towards DS, are total opposite. As much enthusiasm as a toddler going to the first day of kindergarden. That is the feeling of GS with DS.

that is why I was so shocked when ppl here made fun of his coreo and said that his dance coreo was bad LOL He *is* a good dancer :) So this says something... if he dances as the idol, ppl applaud, and when he dances as some low level actor in a drama, ppl criticize his dancing LOL To me It is clear from his dancing scenes that he *is* a very good dancer. I knew he was from Shinhwa but I didnt realize that means he is an idol

Nah... SR and professor STILL has that feeling of "Professor I will give you a better written paper later" - it is still a relationship of a teenager who is just tiptoing around a very old and important and dry boring Big Potato fuddy daddy. Official Person Untouchable.
It is 100% understandable it started that way - but it has not progressed. She is not a teenager but a young woman. And he is not only a dry politically correct Official Figure. THAT is what I was complaing about. they are *stuck* at the beginning.

Yes he has to wait for her to grow up and he is originally THE adult in the relationship and he has the responsibility to keep distance and not pounce and infringe on her, and that is all cool. It is just that they as individual people haven't made any progress. He is waiting for her at the same spot for like 20 episodes already... she is like 20 miles away and they are waving at each other.... from a BIG DISTANCE.

The timing is tricky as these changes can take some time and the drama is kinda going at its own pace, so sometimes a time lapse is useful, however, not too much and also we cannot miss what's going on with GS and DS etc... . So he trick with this script is to somehow "fit" the growing process of Se Ri into the timeline of others.
Since GS and DS are stuck and boring as "mild and well behaved seniors", and to be honest, MS and CS are super lookewarm mild flavor seniors and boring too, ... it is just BORING.

Oh we agree, he is single with a questionable moral compass, and messes around with paired up people, and is promiscuous. I called that a cheater to agree with the person who wrote that first, and you dont have to, but we agree on the assessment of him :)
The bottom line is, he has a questionable moral compass and cheap and dagerous taste, he doesnt mind sharing needles and stealing other people's food .... Very unhygienic... he is a transfer host for all kinds of stuff.... Actually, how I would qualify him, is STD carrier....

How the show will address it is the interesting part. I have seen people like that detective who look totally all together in real life. My favorite was a head of security department for a big university, who lived in an airbnb so that he could sleep with the guests LOL and had a "permanent" gfriend.... I am not sure how the show will handle the detective... bc he will have to coopareta with the recluse and also will have to pay his karma for not taking care of his niece...

Maybe it is ok for this kdrama if they dont know how to create more episodes since the topic is rather tricky. But in general, this is a new trend of short series and even "shorts" - just see one of those and you will puke. Chnese have tons of them. When a drama is short, there is no time for character development and also it is a lot more difficult to come up with a unique story

The issue is that the string in the drama does NOT show the quality of the relationship and also the string is used for shaming, when it doesnt automatically have to be shameful.
In real life, the strings and connections between people truely in love would be all shiny, vibrant, blazing light, and in beautiful light colors like soft pinks, golden, shiny white, .... , and strings between those who hate each other or just mated or just ... did not have a good relatioship or had a relationship on wrong premises - those strings would look ugly and dark and "rotten" somehow.
But this kdrama simplifies things, to make a point. And you caught on that point.
There is a very very fine line between the churchy "ya all nasty!" and then hiding any sexual relationship with guilt and shame, and the street "hookups are all fun and games" total approval of casual sex, like humans are dogs .... . The energetic and other consequences are the same in both scenarios. .... bc it is a lie, it is fake, it is manipulation, and also it is complete ignorance. The real topic behind what we are discussing here is a lot more complex and refined...

Well then just fast forward through the opening "intro skit" scenes from TV where the screen gets all snowey and you will probably be all right. I fast forward through those anyways bc they are so dark and murky and fast and ... meaningless :)
