@mstique honey pie!!! you need to watch first episodes.. evil ex married Jae In to grab YL and run... He had SR on the side in the USA - and the kid - whose kid it is? - the entire time... and he and SR as Catherine had paper companies etc and swindled YL money...... then SR came to Korea and together they took over Jae in.... GC drugged Jae In, then put Jae In into a psych ward, divorced her, took her house, took every penny from Jae In and left her on the street, homeless.................. SR tried to kill her and kill her son instead by mistake .... and then.. she came back LOL of course GC hates JI there she is in his face alive and well and causing problems.... when she was supposed to have disappeared and be gone
I love today's episode (52) it was really fun because it was so realistic and it was so... comical... Finally we found out WHO is sending those big red letters... Omg why was she doing that to GC too... ? what is she thinking.... ? And yeah Mi Ran is pooping a very smelly situation.... showing how nasty her choices to follow her family tradition are.... she really thinks she is helping her son be that "one male on the top" by killing all competition... a lot of business is STILL ran that way.... and MiRan's bad choice is choosing NOT to look into what she was brainwashed into... ***** Paddy is the only person who makes Mi Ran wake up for a few moments and be human. ******* She is smart enough to feel that he genuinely and deeply loves her. She is also smart enough to know that he too is just half baked and still confused. For example his kicking Jae In out shows he is not a fully loving and open person. Still, Paddy is one step ahead of MiRan so they could help each other.
So WILL she allow herself to be defrosted by his influence? That is a gooooooood question.... Instead of getting softer, she is acting tough and dropping a nuclear bomb..... BUT....... i think it is her desperate call for healing... bc the flames of that bomb are gonna be melting HER.... as she throws the bomb, she comes closer to Paddy - and herself. I am waiting for Paddy to take his son under his wing. THat will be nice

I think I can phrase my words better now. Mi Ran is definitely a victim of her patriarchal upbrining, she believes there is ONE male person on top like a king and everyone else is competition or subservient. Mi Ran **did** give up her baby so that YL group can have that one male person on top. That is why she is a victim, her family convinced her to be the slave for the family. AND THEN YOU GUYS ARE TOTALLY RIGHT, AT THE AGE OF LIKE 50, MI RAN HAS NO REASONS TO STILL BEHAVE LIKE THAT. She is just frozen in time, still behaving as a corporate robot. By now, she should have learned to open her heart and to value finer things in life, but she is stil a blind brainwashed corporate machine soldier robot .. heartless.. brainless... AUTOMATIC .... and interested only in money. And then in some moments, Paddy gets her and wakes her up for a second, and we can tell she **knows*** what is right.... and seems like only he can pull out that note from that violin... nobody else is capable of making Mi Ran act and behave as a human being. She loves Paddy and he is her only connection to the real world... he is her doctor and healer and someone - the only one - who teaches her love... So no wonder why he still loves her, it must be fascinating and very special to be that kind of life support to someone.. .he truely is her savior... SO IT IS REALLY FASCINATING TO WATCH MI RAN'S CONFUSION. that is why she is such a complex character.

yeah I agree, her brainwashed choices from early youth are one thing and her behavior today dissing Jae In is a totaly different thing, she SHOULD make better choices. That is why she is such a complex and interesting character, she is still confused at the age of like 50, she hasnt learned yet to honor her own heart and to take care of other people. Yes I hear you, yes for sure it seems to you and me that she did have a choice back then. But I do not think she ever saw it as a choice.... She was a slave to her family and you can say she chose to be that but I think as a young person giving up the kid, she just did it on automatic pilot. It is hard for her to see that she had a choice.... . She just isnt .... aware. She is BRAINWASHED.. ... so I really think she was a victim of her upbringing. I also fully agree that TODAY as a grown woman, she should know better and is making choices out of greed. She never chose to outgrew her moronic upbringing and family belief system.. I think *** that *** is her main problem. She never chose to grow out of the patriarchal "one male on top" ruling over others and "everyone help him" and "grab as much as you can" belief system.
