A Poor Attempt To Drag The Episodes
This drama would have been a nice one, only if the episodes were shortened by half. The script did not have enough material for it to be a 40-episode drama. The story was filled with too many fillers, in my opinion. The 2ML managed to draw my attention more than the leads. There were some really funny moments, and I enjoyed those scenes. Though the drama tries to give a nice message about loving beyond one's appearance, it gets forgotten in this draggy mess of fillers. Overall, the premise of the drama was good, but it was ruined by poor execution. Was this review helpful to you?
An Underwhelming Story With Great Acting
The story is not bad, but it definitely lacked, in my opinion, especially in terms of the character growth of the ML. Bai Lu in terms of acting, did great. I absolutely did not like how the character was written. In the entire story, I felt it was based on the poor communication between the ML & FL. Neither of them understood each other, nor did they try to. Each felt their own pov was the right one. Also, towards the end, I did not like how the writer turned the ML stupid for whatever reason. Overall, I did not like the drama much. Was this review helpful to you?
A Visual Feast of Absolutely Artistically Brilliant Cinematography
This drama was such a visual feast. This drama had one of the best cinematographies I have ever watched in a Chinese drama. The director was the star of the drama for me. The cast was really nice. Though I am not much of a fan of the FL's acting, she did a decent job here. The story was great until episode 20, in my opinion. Later, I felt the story slowed down a bit for my liking, but great direction and cinematography made me stay as a viewer. This has one of the most beautiful wedding scenes in the history of Chinese drama, in my opinion. I absolutely loved this drama. This was one of the best dramas of 2024.Was this review helpful to you?
A Great Romance Thriller Turned Overwhelming Due To Its Finale
This drama started absolutely brilliantly. There was everything in it from mystery, thrill, romance, and proper relationship development between the ML & FL for me to love this drama. I thoroughly enjoyed the drama until the 11th episode and was utterly disappointed after I watched the last episode. The Argan track felt completely unnecessary to me. The leads had a great understanding between them, so the Argan track did not make any sense (at least not to me). Also, I would have loved to see their proposal and wedding track instead. Though they got a happy ending, I felt something was missing in the last episode. Overall, it was a very nice drama that I loved watching. Was this review helpful to you?
Swagger of Song Joong Ki That Drags On A Bit
This K-drama is a lot different compared to what I'm used to watching. The cinematography, acting, and direction were brilliant for me. But the comic part later on felt a bit underwhelming to me. The story could have been wrapped up easily within 16 episodes for me if the creatives had toned down the unnecessary parts. Towards the end, I was quite impatient. Song Joong Ki was the star of the drama for me. I loved his Swaggar. The villains got their proper karma, and as a viewer, I was thoroughly satisfied. Overall, A very nice and classy drama. Was this review helpful to you?
A Great Watch
Trigger started strong. The actor playing the villain was the star of the show for me. The concept behind normal people pulling the trigger felt interesting to me. The ending, though, felt a bit illogical, but it was what a drama should promote, obviously. Violence should not be promoted irrespective of logic. The story was tight and thrilling for me. I liked the atmosphere that the drama managed to create. Overall, it was a very nice drama. Was this review helpful to you?
A Great Cast With An Underwhelming Script
The story started well, but later, as more cases came up, it started to feel deliberate ignorance by the investigators to create difficulties. (Especially the arson case). They had found the face of the criminal long ago, but were deliberately letting him off by not arresting him. I found it to be a bit dramatic and illogical. I did not find it thrilling at all. The only thrilling case was probably the one where they desperately hunted for the face of the serial killer. The promise was good, but the story was lacking in my opinion. The casting was great, and they had delivered their best. Overall, even if I did not love the drama, it was a nice one-time watch. Was this review helpful to you?
Started As A funny Cute Story But Later Turned Irritating
The story started nicely. It was funny. The FL was so fun to watch, but as the episodes went by, the story turned boring and irritating for me. The ML & FL had nice chemistry, and it could have been a great drama if the writer had kept the vibe of the initial episodes. Sadly, the writer lost the opportunity by turning it into a melodramatic drama (At least for me it was melodramatic). I did not exactly like the FL's character later on. The story had good potential, but rather went into ashtrey due to poor writing and execution. Overall, I did not like the drama. Was this review helpful to you?
A Brilliant Story Ruined By Its Ending
The relationship between Do Jun and his grandfather was the soul of the drama. There was no need for a romance angle for the ML. Moreover, I did not feel the chemistry between the actors. The romance angle felt forced to me. I enjoyed the dynamics in the Korean Chaebol shown in the drama. The actors did a good job. The screenplay was nice and I loved the addition of showing real key historical events to mark the timeline in the drama. The ending felt like coming from another universe, as I at first did not understand where that episode came from. I, as a viewer, felt cheated by that horrible ending. But if I leave that last episode out, it was a brilliantly executed drama. Was this review helpful to you?
A Nice Slice of Life Drama That Feels Dragging Later
The story started well, and the dynamics between the leads felt entertaining. This started strong, and the comic part was done right. The creatives tried to address the mental health issues, and it was done nicely. The acting of both leads was nice. I loved their chemistry. I especially found their school days to be more entertaining. But the main issue is that the story felt dragging to me. The big secret did not seem big enough to me at all, and this drama could have been wrapped up in 12 episodes, in my opinion. Overall, this is a decent watch. Was this review helpful to you?
A Nail Biting Dark Crime Thriller
This is my first Taiwanese drama. By chance, I discovered it and became a fan of Wu Kang Ren. The thrill element is maintained until the end. Though the series is a bit dark and gory, the pacing is just right to keep it from being overwhelming or boring. The actors have done a very nice job of keeping me engaged. The villain is actually smart and not just in the name but in action as well. Though it is not a drama that can be repeated many times, it was a very thrilling one-time watch. Was this review helpful to you?
Enjoy The Journey
This is my first Chinese drama. I absolutely loved the drama. The casting, acting, and music were really nice. Though it is a long drama, the journey certainly feels worth it. This is a dark Wuxia drama. The characters were complex, and the emotions were really heavy. Though there was supposed to be a 2nd season, I felt the background of Chu Qiao and her powers were explored very little in Season 01. The action scenes were very nicely choreographed, and Zhao Li Ying was the star of the drama for me. The only drawback I would say is the ending. The writers should have wrapped up everything in one season. I am fortunate that I watched this drama in 2023 instead of 2017. Otherwise, it would have been too long to wait for season 2. Now that season 2 is being made with a new cast, I hope this story really gets a proper ending this time. Was this review helpful to you?
How Is This Collection of Flashbacks Are Considered As The Special Episodes
These two special episodes are nothing but old flashback scenes with the voiceover by the ML. I thought that this was the wedding/ life of the leads after the ML came back. But it was none of this. As a viewer, I felt cheated. Though Its better to get something rather than nothing, but is still not a sufficient excuse to post Flashbacks as special episodes. They could have just included it in the main episode. Was this review helpful to you?
It Was Nice But Could Have Been Better
It took me quite some time to finish the drama. The FL's character and her baby voice were a huge turn off me. But later, as I watched further, I realized that Esther Yu was the perfect actress to play this role. She was required to behave like this according to the story. Both Dylan and Esther did their role nicely, and they had nice chemistry. But the story was not anything special, at least for me. I really did not like the special effects much. The color felt quite a bit off to me. The cinematography was nice. I liked the FL's character more towards the end. The 2ML was okay. Moreover, the ending seemed vague and could have been better. I did not like the rushed ending at all. Overall, this drama is a very good one-time watch. Was this review helpful to you?
Bai Lu Is The Star of The Drama
This is the first Republican drama that I have watched. I absolutely loved it. Xu Kai seemed to be born to play the role of Gu Yanzhen. The casting was amazing. I loved the personality of the 2ML more. I felt his character was more stable for the FL. Sorry, I loved the FL with the 2ML more. The cinematography was really nice. Bai Lu gave it her all. I loved how her character was portrayed. She was the star of the drama for me.Was this review helpful to you?
