On When It Rains, It Pours Feb 15, 2025
Title When It Rains, It Pours Spoiler
Some people may be wondering how can Fujisawa that is supposedly asexual can SA Sei. The reason is because of his extremely controlling and domineering personality that loves his total control over Sei's life and has nothing to do with sexual desire (or lack thereof). Throughout the drama, Fujisawa is shown to be very controlling over all aspects of Sei's life, cutting his contact with his friends and moulding Sei's habits to fit his liking (eg. no LINE, no TV, no smells after food). He cares for Sei in a "i know best" manner, in a self-important way and not actually caring for Sei's own feelings.

When Fujisawa discovers that Sei had found another guy that cares for him (Hagiwara) and slept with him, he quickly moves to re-exert control over his 'possession'. He forces them to move far away from their current home and suggests to Sei to quit his job, once again isolating Sei. When Sei protests, Fujisawa is unused to this level of defiance and feels that his usual bag of manpulative tricks cannot work anymore, thus resorting to SA to control Sei with brute force.

The SA is not for Fujisawa's own sexual desire (which may or may not exist), but for his own psychotic desire for control. In his twisted mind, he even thinks that he is doing Sei a 'favour' by finally having sex with him. However, the context of the sex is through domination (which is the only method that Fuji knows) and not mutual consent, thus exposing him as a disturbed individual.

Very good first 2 episodes, which focuses on the funeral director couple Du Zhi & Wang Zhan and sets up their contrasting personalities. The dynamic of this couple is basically a free spirit rich spoilt boy & strict loyal servant (similar to other recent Taiwanese BLs Eternal Butler and See Your Love), but I hope that as it progresses, the storyline would be different from the others.

The wedding planner couple Zhang Yi Qing & Tu Jing He are currently side characters who are very good friends. Their story will be focused later.

I feel Kaori is just as manipulative as Fujisawa if not even more. The big difference is she does it with a pretty…
I think Kaori entered the meeting thinking that she can cower Hagiwara into begging her to take him back. Notice that she was rather hostile at first, repeatedly shaming Hagiwara for cheating with a man rather than with a woman, and that it was because she didn't allow him to do anything sexually with her for 1yr. When Hagiwara responded that he isn't her dog, she noticed that the conversation didn't go the way she wanted and so she shifted tactics to saying that she still liked Hagiwara and that she still left the 'decision' to him (ie. to tell her that he still wanted her back like a good gentleman).

She certainly did NOT expect to hear Hagiwara say that he is in love with someone else and that they should break up. Crying, she said a short goodbye before storming off, because the ending is not what she had expected! She had completely misread the room, said the wrong things, overplayed her hand and lost!

Yeah, I understand completely the feeling of getting excited about a BL drama and even re-watching again to find hidden details in it. Which couple's dynamic do u like best? Personally I like FadelStyle because us the viewers can see their relationship grow and blossom.

Initially, Style seems like an irritating big mouth and Fadel is just dark and hostile for no reason. However, we the viewers are slowly shown the many hidden layers behind both characters. Style, despite his talkative and carefree personna has a deep and mature side, while Fadel's gumpiness is due to his tragic backstory. Style's gentle nature helps to bring Fadel out of his shell and makes him want to live, which I think is beautiful to see.

okay, didn't Kant do all this to not go to jail right and now he is asking the captain to put him in jail what…
Hi, I think the deal with the Captain is that Kant and Style would teach the prisoners in order to be tog with their bfs. Kant would teach art and Style will teach auto mechanics. This way they would be able to hold onto their bfs throughout the 5 year jail sentence.

Thanks for your compliment. Yeah FadelStyle's story arc is well written and JoongDunk did a great job in bringing the characters to life. I feel that FadelStyle's arc ends up more beautiful than KantBison as they have more bumps and emotional depth in their relationship.

I like it that they give Fadel a missing ex as a backstory as to why he is so grumpy at first and broken, and that Style uses his big mouth as a cover for his own insecurities. At first they seem like stereotypes (tsundere + annoying persurer), but we as viewers discover their backstories along the way as to why they are the way they are today.

Yes, they will show the conflict in ep.6 and resolution in ep.7. It's such a simple plot that's executed so quickly and perfectly.

In this episode, I could feel their sadness and lonliness when they were being ignored by their partners and pushed to the breaking point. They had such a mix of complicated feelings when hooking up, a mix of sadness, guilt and relief in finding each other. It makes sense for Hagiwara to fall in love first since he is the one that likes to give love while Sei is the one that needs to receive love.

Everything in this episode happened so quickly compared to ep. 1~4, including the partners finding out at the end. I think the next episode is gonna have a lot of drama indeed...

Have you watched productions from Be On Cloud? They are more serious in tone. As well as those written by Sammon (Manner of death, Triage, 4 Minutes and Spare me your mercy)

It is, quite transparently. Actually Jojo's previous works have been grittier in the past including 3 Will Be Free (2019) but I guess someone told him to go softer to cater to the fanbase.

I agree with you that both the crime and punishment aspects of this drama is very unrealistic but it is a BL drama rather than a crime drama after all. 5 years for multiple murders is a ridiculously low sentence even if they have been groomed since young to kill. However, 5 years for a time jump in a BL is fine and not 15~20 years or more. There are even more delusional fans calling for Bison and Fadel to be free like what... ??

Probably the courtroom scene is not shown since everything in that trial is already arranged beforehand in the plea deal. We already know they will plead guilty and we know the sentence.

The jail scene is to show the couples being all sad and pining for each other while apart. It is a BL after all...

In My Personal Weatherman, Segasaki and Yoh obviously have a unhealthy relationship. Segasaki, like Fujisawa here, is controlling and manipulative of his partner.

Putting a tracker in your bf's bag and then stalking him is not normal behaviour.

As humans, it is our nature to classify things we encounter in order to make sense of our world. For DC/Marvel comics, we have heroes, villains and anti-heros. Since BL is a romance genre, love interests are classified as green, red and mixed flags.

I agree that its not black and white and it is a spectrum, that bad boys may be able to love and good boys have serious flaws. But we still use red and green classifications so that we can get a sense of their characters.

I believe the director Jojo said that this is a romcom even though its about a pair of hitmen brothers, so the focus is on romance over the action aspect.

I agree that GMMTV has always been the Disney of BL producers, so they would always add in more lovey-dovey scenes to cater to their fanbase. Heart Killers isn't an action packed mafia BL like KinnPorsche.

Yes, there are many hints that Fujisawa is extremely manipulative and controlling over Sei if you look carefully.…
They aren't even in a relationship as bfs but just a situationship. But Sei has been manipulated so much that he's too emotionally dependent.

Hagiwara will be the one to break Sei out of Fuji's spell. ๐Ÿ˜

Once again this series has me feeling all over the place about how good it is. What was that whole Lilly plot!?…
I agree with you that as an ex professional killer, Lilly is dumb to not get suspicious of Kant especially when he forced his way in to serve the senator's wife on the golf course. And asking him to invite more of his handsome friends along? That's trouble right there.

Lilly also didn't prepare herself for an ambush at the birthday party by bringing a gun with her, that's why she gave up so easily when confronted in the toilet by Bison and Fadel. It had to be them and not the cops since we can get the scene where Bison and Fadel confronting her for killing their parents/ex-bf to get closure.

Regarding getting held by Kant and Style to hand her over to the police, she's unlikely to overpower them since her drink was spiked. Also it had to be them to hand her over since they still needed her as a chip for the deal with Captain to try to get a reduced sentence for Bison and Fadel.

Yes! I really love the serious+unserious combo so much.

The serious guy has a soft and sensitive side, while the unserious guy has a sadder and deeper side.
