Ep.2 is real heavy and polarized a lot of viewers due to the DV (domestic violence) plot and how they handled it. From my understanding, the abusive husband was indeed a piece of sh*t, and the wife wanted to kill him for some time, but lacked the strength/courage, so she summoned the spirit to possess her to help her do it. Peem said that the main antagonist Ramphueng would find faults among the villagers and exploit them. I feel the abusive husband should have gotten some retribution at the end, either jail or karmic punishment, but unfortunately, as in real life, sometimes bad people do get away with doing bad things or just pay a light price...😢

Some of my thoughts on the personalities of the 4 main guys (from ep.1 & 2):

Jet: He is a bit selfish. He only cares about himself and his best friend Khem whom he is very protective over and that's it. He keeps telling Khem that they should just mind their own business regarding the DV. I hope that he becomes less selfish as the show progresses.

Khem: He is earnest and has a 'see something, say something attitude'. In ep.1 he helped the chained boy and in ep.2, he didn't ignore the DV. However, he is incredibly naive, even dangerously so, believing that the DV couple still has love/future. I hope that Peem is able to get him to be more realisitc and mature.

Peem: He is much more jaded in life and I think he is right that the husband won't keep his promise and the couple would never make it in the end. He sees things as they are, but the jaded-ness feels like it slows down his action. He knew that Worn already had a problem but didn't take action until Khem and Charn got the ball rolling.

Charn: He is the intelligent, analytical type, although sometimes he encounters problems as he isn't as 'skilled' (clumsy and bad at lying). It would be interesting to see his character develop as he slowly enters this supernatural world as he seems the most nerdy and skeptical.

Indeed, the way they handed the DV plot was bad. It's also frustrating that some of the main characters including the best friend was saying "its none of our business, we should stay out of it", like what? Then what's the point of the lesson in the first ep.1 of doing what's right when you see something wrong by helping the boy in chains. From my understanding of the scene, the wife wanted to kill her abusive husband for a long time but didn't have the courage so do so, so she let the spirit possess her. Even after Peem had exorcised her, she should have called the cops on his sorry ass, or at the very least, left him for a better man.

It is indeed horror with some disturbing imagery and jump scares, but no violence or gore (so far that I see in ep. 1), and i think Domundi would keep it within limits for the general BL target audience. The horror elements are well done and Thailand does produce scary horror films/shows.

Actually Playboyy could have been a masterpiece if the writing was done much more logically & coherently and the number of characters & plot points reduced to focus on several key ones. I really hope that they improve on both issues for S2 if there is one.

It's such a great show isn't it? The plot, pacing and acting are all excellent. We need more dark KBL manhwas to be adapted into dramas 😄

Haha true, imagine them as a deliciously evil villain power couple working together to make everyone's lives around them hell and making the world a worse place. I will watch that kind of show 😂

The psycho Jaemin and the violent Seong Hyeon should date as they are perfect for each other and are fake dating already anyways and leave our cuties Da On and Su Hyeon alone!

It's an open ending. Go Young doesn't end up with anyone in the end but it's hinted that he may try to find his soulmate Gyu Ho when he returns to Korea after realizing how much happiness they once had together.

Well, Only Friends is clear that its a messy r/s drama with many red flags. Everyone is a little red in the show in their own way, including Top, Mew, Ray and Nick. The only one I can think of that's green is Sand (although he did expose Nick's recording of Boston & Top).

I agree 100%! Keeping the audience guessing and in suspense would be a much more exciting show. Unfortunately GMMTV won't do this as they rely too much on their established ships and ship fanbases. Hopefully another studio would attempt to do such a plot.

Heyos, glad u asked. If we look at the sequence of events, Boston introduced Top to Mew as a way for Mew to lose his innocence/virginity. However, he didn't expect that Top would commit to chasing Mew while not sleeping with him as Boston considers Top a player like himself.

Even though he says he doesn’t care about who his friends date, deep down I feel that he has a kind of "if i can't have it, so can't you attitude". If he remains single, he expects that Mew and Ray to be boyfriendless as well. Thus, he sleeps with Top to ruin Mew's r/s and tells Ray's secret to ruin Ray's r/s.

Some people have mentioned that Boston is like a sociopath (but non-violent). He has his own 'operating code' that's different from the majority. Lying, cheating and stiring sh*t aren't big deals to him. He isn't able to form healthy bonds with others, and even when he tries to like with Nick, he fails as his dark natural impulses are still stronger.

Unfortunately such people like Boston are common, making him very realistic. He's interesting to watch in a show, but crazy to deal with in real life.

Spoiler warning: Boston won't get better till around ep.10. He himself would be the target of someone else that falsely accuses him. He won't be the only villain as there would be another one that pops up that tries to break up TopMew & SandRay. Boston would have a redemption arc in ep.11-12 that's unsuccessful in the end.

In my opinion, the show is really worth it as everyone (including Boston) is not just black/white but various shades of grey. The show sheds a bit of light on each characters' motives, wants and fears. Some people may not like Boston (he's a red flag after all), but people like him are realistic. He's just a person that's not ready to be tied down in a comitted relationship, yet has a hypercompetitive mentality and is deeply insecure that others are in relationships.

Wow, ThomasKong, KengNamping and JimmyOhm are gonna star in this light-hearted magic themed series. I laughed a bit when in the trailer Thomas & Keng's characters were feuding and thus Kong & Namping used magic to 'fix' their relationship only for it to be too effective and they started to want to kiss each other 😂

In ep.4, the game is set and the race is on as 2 new challengers appears that acts as a rival for Wang Zhan to get Du Zhi (funeral director couple) as well as a rival for Yi Qing to get Jing He (wedding planner couple).

I think the funeral couple relationship would be more smooth sailing as their problems are external to their relationship, ie. problems with both of their respective brothers. The love rivalry Wang Zhan has with Hui Yi is also presented in a humorous and unserious way.

However, the wedding couple relationship seems like it would be more tense as the problems are deep within their relationship. Jing He would get increasingly serious with the girl despite knowing Yi Qing's feelings and Yi Qing would get increasingly bitter. Their storyline will hurt quite a bit before finally getting better.

I think their storyline would be the focus soon since they are featured equally on the poster, hence both couples should have equal screentime.

I think they would focus equally on the funeral planner couple and the wedding planner couple since they are featured equally on the poster, just that the storyline of the funeral planner couple is the main focus for now and then the wedding planner couple storyline would take over later.

Agreed, i loved them both in Only Friends, hence I'm happy to see them as scheming villains trying to tear apart the main couple again 😈

I'm looking forwards to this show so much, even though i think plot-wise its probably gonna be similar to every other vampire show (human-vampire forbidden love + protector from other vampires).

JossGawin look good and having both Mond and Neo in this drama is also great as well (I loved them in Only Friends).

There was a post sometime ago for casting for S2, so its probably happening, but with new actors/characters or a mix of old and new.
