In LOTFG comments section people explained that in the book it was a naval battle which is why it made sense to rescue her like that. But it looked funny when it happened in mostly dry river 🤣

I enjoyed LOTFG but we had to forgive some of the writing/logical lapses (like the scene where FL falls off the horse in ankle-deep water but then ML saves her as if they were in an ocean 🙄… or the whole marriage-related drama at the end). The writing is better/more consistent here (tribute to the writers because original novel wasn’t great, from what I understand). If you haven’t watched it, highly recommend “When Destiny Brings the Demon” which aired on YOUKU right before this drama. That drama was a pleasant surprise for everyone and it didn’t hurt that the lead pair had insane chemistry & a lot of intimate moments (“Dual Cultivation” manual FL carries in LTIC was probably written by the couple from WDBTD 🫣🥰).

Basically, those two guys erased MX’s name and he added it back 🥰

OMG, what kind of a weak “Ultimate Punishment” did they perform on Ming Xin? I would have assumed he’d be locked up somewhere deep in the mountains for eternity + 1 day 😳🙄

Ah, I see your point. It starts deceptively slow to ease you in, introduce characters and intrigue that’s going on. Well, and to show what an awesome business person the FL is, lol. But very soon things ramp up, there’s a near-impossible military operation that scheming bad people send ML on and we are off to the races (there are also some things I’m not mentioning to avoid spoilers). Speaking of spoilers, avoid comments section until you’ve watched the drama. There are multiple huge spoilers 🫣

They will have some great moments for sure. The plot starts off deceptively small (ML trying to catch bandit leader) and FL trying to do business, but it expands to military campaign(s), political machinations and empire-wide events. So it’s like a better version of Flourished Peony (not strictly business focused and less deaths of beloved characters).

Our couple is great here 🥰 But I do want to shout out the couple in When Destiny Brings the Demon (not sure how censors allowed so many intimate scenes 🫣🥰) and couple in Are You the One. Both AYtO and LTiC couples give the feeling they are made for each other 🥰🥰🥰

The leads in Fated Hearts were great. Other characters — not so much *sigh*

2FL and 2ML are definitely the second couple in this drama. The ex will be annoying and disruptive for sure, but he has no chance to win back FL.

2FL has 0% chance with him. Our boy is way too focused on finding any excuse to spend more time with FL.

Hopefully, 2FL will switch her attention to 2ML soon :)

Yes, she was one of the three Chinese chefs in Bon Appettit. She was also FL’s sister in Wedding Impossible.

What’s your favorite drama of 2025 so far? On K-drama side my favorite might be “Love Scout” so far.

Hopefully, they will release a lot of BTS/extras with subtitles :)
