At this point, more people like Ms. Lin as opposed to Xing Shen. At least, she’s kind of fair and honorable…
Relatively honorable insofar as monsters are concerned. Like a mafia boss with a code of conduct. Obviously, she’s not a good person but she makes me wish there was a way for humans & fiends to coexist peacefully.
Ep.21 ... I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, but based on the theory in ep.21… could fiends have…
Yes, that’s what they are theorizing. That the special pink goo mutated humans + ____ into fiends. Maybe as a result of the asteroid crash or whatever happened in the very beginning.
Thank you. I share your frustration. Its the dastardly influence of short dramas. Now all the long dramas are…
It’s common to have writing rooms in Hollywood to split up episodes but they all coordinate/discuss things and everything is overseen by a head writer and/or showrunner. This wasn’t done very well here 😥
Could you please recommend some dramas with solid, logical writing that have good endings? Sometimes, writing can be done well but they fumble the ending like they did with The Demon Hunter’s Romance (supposedly, writer had a HE written but iQIYI forced a change to very unconvincing OE… so the last 1-2 episodes kind of ruined the show for many people).
That might not happen. It’s part of the deal Netflix has with SBS
Yes, it’d be fun for this show. Sometimes Viki comments are great (enjoyed them during Love Scout), but other times they are kind of mean or weird (and not in a good way) 😳
Cause she have to rescue linglin first beside she doesn’t know where they hold yan tou location at. Her first…
Lin Ling actually told FL that ML is being held in the house. FL mentioned it when talking to someone else.
I guess, my point is this: if FL knew where the ML is being held, why not tie up the bad guys so they couldn’t alert The Evil Stepmom. That’d buy her time to try to rescue ML.
After reading your review, I realize I didn't miss anything. I watched up to episode 5 and saw that it wasn't…
I watched up to ep. 17 or 18 before putting on hold because the plot went off the rails in ep. 16. Watched excellent Love in the Clouds after that and slowly finished this drama with a help of 1.5-2x speed.

Wow, different writing teams? That is explains so much! Maybe I don’t understand the preferences of domestic audience, but to me the story is crucial so when it gets butchered (like here or in other C-/K-dramas), it completely overshadows cast, costumes, sets, etc.
Couldn’t agree more with this review! I rated this 7.5 (9 for main couple + 6.0 for everything else). The writers completely lost the plot in ep. 16 and it barely recovered towards the end (33-38). I might’ve upgraded it to 8.0 if Jinxiu’s emperor survived, married 2FL and had a kid. Their pairing towards the end was the only interesting thing about event in Jinxiu which otherwise felt like a waste of screen time.
High rating of this drama is mostly due to excellent beginning (episodes 1-16). After that, screenwriters do a rather poor job. I’d suggest skipping 17-32 and resuming starting with ep. 33.
