I think it really hugely depends on a drama. Some drama pages have very nice discussions and others are a mess. For example, recently two dramas from the same author (different genres though) were airing at the same time but one had happy fans & lovely discussions (When Destiny Brings the Demon) whereas the other one was full of antis/downvotes/drama (Moonlit Reunion).

I hope ep. 9 shows why she couldn’t deal with just two (?) bad guys on her own even though she’s supposed to be the best fighter. Sigh, the good guys definitely have their work cut out for them 😳

I really, really wish MDL put a system in place to disallow people to rate unaired episodes or claim they’ve seen all episodes when it was clearly impossible. 🙄

For sure, people who relentlessly downvote/upvote certain dramas are wasting their time because MDL ratings mean nothing in China.
And even on MDL, many of us learned to see past numerical scores. I’ve watched multiple sub-8.0 dramas which were excellent ☺️

What were the other dramas that got bombed?
And, yes, some people have too much time on their hands for sure. That’s why ratings on MDL are only slightly more reliable than ratings on Viki, lol 😆

What aspects are confusing to you? There are still some mysteries left to uncover but general plot details seem clear.

Have you watched Love Scout (early 2025)? It gets excellent after 1-2 episodes and has the greenest flag ML. Even The Big Problem gets resolved almost immediately.

Did you like the Genie? I’ve only made it through about 1.5 episodes so far and put it aside for a bit.

Yes, we all know FL isn’t going to come clean herself until episode 25, so our best hope is ML finding out first and then pretending not to know. There’s a C-drama that pulled that trick nicely (but it was about FL pretending to be a guy… while sharing a dorm room with ML, lol).

I really hope 2FL is going to be a key to solve this for everyone’s sake. 2ML’s kid already told her he doesn’t have a mom 😳

FYI, synopsis on MDL is not fully accurate. But everything is more or less explained in the first episode. It starts off with a bang :)

This drama isn’t inventing anything new but we are all enjoying it because it’s a very solid old-school romcom and the leads have great chemistry ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

I think it was even 8.2 at one point before antis brought it down to 7.7. Sigh, some people have way too much free time. It’s not like MDL ratings matter in China — companies have their own tracking measurements for success/failure 🙄

Last arc was indeed pointless but if I had to stop visiting the comments page on MDL during the last 2(?) episodes because of all the hate & vitriol. It was even worse than what recently happened with the new Genie drama with Suzy 😳😥🫣

Yeah, I thought initially it was going to be more serious (like, say, Queen of Tears), but it was more trope-y and pulp-y. But I still love the couple and their interactions are ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥. Unfortunately, last or next to last episode had a brief mention (1-2 seconds) of a fake country which people mis-interpreted as being Palestine (and mis-interpreted the message of what was going on). That ended up in an avalanche of hate and massive, massive downvoting, so MDL ratings took a huge nosedive from 8.5+ down to 8.0 (now; I think it dropped below 8 for a bit).

FL & her husband loved each other and had a very happy although very short marriage. The husband had weak health since childhood and passed away on his own 6 months into their marriage. There was no foul play involved in his death. FL remained dedicated to his memory and stayed with the husband’s family.
