The chemistry and intimacy between the leads is great. YOUKU is spoiling us by releasing “When Destiny Brings the Demon” (very high number of kissing and, ahem, “dual cultivation” scenes) and LTiC back to back.

They should have done one season of 40 episodes and avoided trope-filled episodes of season 2. Basically, most of first 15-16 episodes of season 2 wasn’t necessary. We were all ready for leads to start being more open & loving towards each other and instead we got… not that 🥺😳

Dramas (and life 😳) are full of parents acting very strict or even abusing their kids for various reasons. So why would anyone suspect their parent wasn’t a real parent just because they were super tough on them?
Similarly, the situation with GMD pancake — FL clearly saw ML destroy GMD so how could she guess the pancake had GMD? She only figured it out by reading the book explaining HG/GMD.

Different people like different dramas, there’s no need to be so surprised and try to insinuate anything. It started in low 8s and eventually made it to 8.7 as episodes got better. There were no obvious signs of down/up-voting from antis/fans.
Second SFL looks like a good woman with a good character so far.....I hope she doesn't resort into creating misunderstanding…

FL is daughter of Master She (who has been her master/sifu) and Fairy Bo [?; sorry name escapes me]. Thar Fairy Bo is older sister of Fairy Bo Yulan who rescued ML and became his master. As of end of Ep. 30, we don’t know identity of the son of Empress Jing Shu (the one she gave to Fairy Bo Yulan), but that will be revealed in Ep. 31-32 (per trailers).
I’m on episode 30 ,she finally finds out he was the one who helped her! It happens in this episode Honestly…
If you rewatch earlier episodes, they threw some subtle hints in there (like them sitting in a similar pose) but it doesn’t become obvious unless you know what to look for. Just like the scallion pancake containing GMD is more obvious if you knew what to look for.

Episode counts on MDL are much more reliable, but sometimes even they are wrong when someone makes an accidental edit. But, yes, they definitely have many things to tie up and give us a happy ending :)
