It’s kind of a funny line but, in all seriousness, when you do live outside of your home country for a long time, you definitely miss your native food.

Haha… they probably got some money from that ski resort (or got free/discounted logic for promoting it). In this drama it was done relatively organically as opposed to times when actors must drink 999 at a slight hint of having a cold… or when characters in K-dramas eat at Subway or Egg Drop (even if they are quite rich).

1 episode per day is still better than 0 episodes per day when they’ll make us pay for express package for final episodes 😬

Upon release, a lot of new dramas suffer through downvoting campaigns from antifans/haters/bored people. So it takes a few days for ratings to stabilize and improve. There may also be a bug in MDL rating algorithm for new dramas but not 100% sure.

I believe it’s a cultural norm in China that they don’t dress up for weddings like, say, people in the U.S. do. Perhaps someone could explain this better though :)

Yes, it’s nice they are on a similar level. Technically, ML’s extended family is richer (old money) but ML doesn’t stand to inherit it unlike FL. That’s why ML jokes she will be his boss eventually:)

I’m not even sure she’s a bona fide goddaughter. It may be just a nice(r) way than saying she’s an unrelated daughter of a woman who broke up a marriage 🙄

This happens on many (most?) dramas, especially in the beginning. If I remember correctly, this drama debuted at 8.1, then dropped to 7.8-7.9 due to downvoting, and then slowly has been climbing up (8.5 now). There’s also a bug with MDL rankings for recently released dramas, I think.

JerkXu is also opposite of ML from another Gu Man drama — a certain rocket scientist in love with an actress 🥰 🚀

That’s unfortunate. Have you tried other platforms? This drama is so popular, it’s on both Tencent Video (WeTV) + iQIYI. And it’s on both Viki and Netflix too :)
