I know some had issues with the ending but I actually think it ended beautifully. Would I have loved to see more…
The ending was about as good as they could make it without running afoul of the censors. For the censors they had to make it seem like a dream, but — for the fans — they threw a lot of hints this is going to be their 4th lifetime together.

Yes, in a perfect world we would have a few episodes in the modern day.

People think the fact that ML didn’t leave to take his flight (at 6:30 pm) and waited for FL to show up means he has memories from their past lifetimes and now FL obtained those memories too after the incident. Not to mention Chinese-language references (like his company being called Three Mountains) and this project being for a vacation resort and FL loving vacations & relaxing.

I sure hope you don’t have allergy to onscreen kisses 😘🫣😉
The Makeout Central picks up around mid-10s (sorry, don’t remember exactly). They have a lot… someone said 20+, but I think we stopped keeping count eventually 😁

Continuing Moonlit Reunion. Probably will start Shadow Love.
For great modern romance I’d highly recommend: “The First Frost” (so, so good 😊) and “Fake It Till You Make It” (only 14 episodes + special; probably most realistic look at adult romance in a C-drama; amazing soundtrack). If you want a lot of laughs, “The Day of Becoming You” is hilarious (it’s about body swapping, but carries a good message). “You Are My Lover Friend” is also mostly funny (although there’s a business conspiracy as a secondary storyline) and sets standard for friends-to-lovers dramas. On K-drama side, I’d recommend “Love Scout” from earlier this year (great romance of people in mid-30s with ML who is the greenest of green flags). I’m actually more of a modern dramas specialist, so feel free to ask me anything :)

L&P is very good but not great (about 8.5 on MDL scale). leads have great chemistry that people like but you have to watch it expecting the circumstances surrounding ML going to prison to be kind of dumb (cliched). Will give some other recommendations in a second comment.

Just realized the author of the novel is Fei Wo Si Cun... this woman LOVES writing red RED flag male leads and…
One time where we all want drama to be different from source material. Not everything needs to have a sad ending 😳🥺

I thought the SFL story was going somewhere but they totally ignored it 🤦🏽 overall great drama
2FL wasn’t in the original novel (or maybe she died with the rest of 99 disciples). But they redeemed her by making her a trusted advisor to FL and having her and Mr. Snake help the leads.

At Episode 13, my rating on a scale from 1 to Love Between Fairy and Devil is a 5.
It gives off very similar vibes. You are just getting to the good parts 😉

i don't care what genre just give me these two leads again I'M BEGGING
They can just pick up the story and make it a workplace romance. There must be a million scripts for that floating around 😁

What was the scandal? And, anyhow, LGIEF was a very nice drama and gave us a reunion of “Moonlight” case (3 out of 4 leads were in LGIEF). So it all worked out for the best ☺️

This drama had a happy ending though. The writers already drove it home that they will always find each other…
Yes, not sure what they could have done to make it more happy. Maybe a second season set in the modern world 😁

The ending...they shouldve atleast added 5 minutes of interaction...
We all want more of them together in the modern world, but it may have been difficult for screenwriters to add more dialog while adhering to censorship rules. Most of us take the ending as their 4th lifetime together but — for censorship reasons — the creators can’t say that out loud and have to make it appear like a dream for regulators (while heavily hinting to viewers it’s a 4th lifetime together).

Exactly... I just don't like this kind of ending anymore... too cliche
We have to blame Chinese regulators for that. They don’t allow stories like this to be real because people take them too seriously, apparently, and there have been people who had done bad things to themselves to get reincarnated, etc. 😳🥺

i sow that ending coming mile ago imean at this point writers have to upgrade the game a bit cuz we can see ending…
Due to censorship rules they had to do it that way and deviate from the novel. But it was still done very well.
