Season 2 requires more patience. It’s similar to Season 1 but it starts to drag and test our patience when it comes to relationship between the leads. I’ve watched Episodes 1-10 on release and now slowly going through the rest (up to 17 now). Honestly, season 2 makes me appreciate “Are You the One” even more. It’s a great example of how both ML & FL can be very smart/talented, care for each other and manage to avoid typical drama tropes.
If the drama writers were the ones who billed WC as a main character in this live drama, then i would reckon this…
“Main Role” versus “Support Role” is something that MDL decides, I think. When this drama first started airing, they only had Yang Yang and Gina Jen as the leads but then others got added as Main Cast even when it didn’t make sense. In actuality, they probably just need to put YY as Main and others as Support :)

Is she really pining for him? It feels like she’s more annoyed that she’d let something like that happen which is a completely understandable reaction. “Pining” is more applicable to a lot of other female characters who are chasing/chased ML (the latest being Chen girl who he saved).
Do we know what exactly caused FL to suffer after-effects after an event in Ep. 12? Was it because she has dropped from Core to Qi; because of a general effect of purple item on females; or something else? 🤔
Live action is made by the same team making donghua (and novel’s author is involved too).
You are in the minority here. Readers of the novel and watchers of donghua have generally had positive feedback here in the comments. But everyone’s opinion is different.

It’s very good so far as long s you don’t expect romance. This one is about hero’s journey to obtain immortality. But if you haven’t started, you can wait a bit to see people’s reactions to the second half of the drama.

i haven't watched season 1 how is the full series? worth watching?
First season was very, very good and rightfully deserves its rating (if we round it up, Season 1 = 9/10; Season 2 = 8/10). Season 2 is rated lower because some (many?) parts feel like elaborate attempts by screenwriters to not make fans happy. The actors are great and everything else is very well done.
So far, top notch. Don't get the rating here, but it is so far much better than 8.1. But yeah there is pattern…
It held steady at 8.2 for awhile but dropped down to 7.9 a day or two ago. Too few people vote early on (and many are actually anti-fans) so for the first week or two it’s more reliable to use comments to get a feel for what’s going on (and sometime we’ve seen MDL have bugs in early rating).
