It was rated 8.1-8.2 for the first few days and then dramatically went down from 8.1 to 7.9 in a few hours. Could be something shady, could be MDL algorithm messing up.

Ah, they showed this in IMAX in China? I’d say it looks better on iPhone/iPad YOUKU apps compared to YouTube app on TV, at least for me.

YAMG had some really great guest stars: Gina Jin, Janice Wu and Zheng He Hui Zi (less famous but still very lovely).

This is not a typical drama — it’s very focused on the ML and his journey. So Gina’s character is not a typical FL that occupies a lot of screen time.

I’m really enjoying the show but, let’s be fair, CGI isn’t the best here. Maybe they did it on purpose but some scenes, like flying, are not very impressive.

Ah, okay. Only Dilraba & Gina were in the movie.

For now Gina kicked our boy Yang to the curb because he’s not talented enough. In a romance drama they’d be in the same sect tending to a garden and staring at a moon 🤣

What was the other time she worked with them?

Han Li has quad spirit root (wood, water, fire, earth) meaning he has 4 out of 5 elements (only missing metal). The rarest/genius candidates have 1 element; excellent candidates have 2; good — 3. The sects didn’t select anyone with 4 or 5 at the “sorting”.

I’ve started to view this drama as a video game. Just like in a video game you have to purchase items, skills, power ups, etc. And then you level up and get new abilities 🤓

If this were a romance drama, Han Li and Dong Xuan’er would have had a child by now. There’s nothing to do and nights get lonely 😉

Question about Ascension Token: can you join only the sect indicated on a token? Subtitles mentioned “any sect” but it could be a mistranslation. Otherwise, I’m not sure why he didn’t go to the top sect (where his acquaintance ended up) instead of a sect with a guy who hates him.

In source material, ML was about 10 at the start. Here, he’s probably 15-16 when he starts. So, by the time of Ep. 5 he’s probably 20 or so. FL is older — we are told she interrupted her cultivation sessions which lasted 20 years or something along those lines.

Someone said that here in later stages it will be more helpful to have more roots.
