If you watch Behind The Scenes (BTS), this is dlne by the same team who is doing the animated version (donghua). No word yet on how much they will fit in the drama and whether there will be season 2.

Little to no romance. MDL tag is misleading (happens frequently). It’s really interesting so far though, especially from episode 3 onward.

BTS video didn’t mention how much they will include and whether there will be a second season. There’s a stopping point some people suggested as a potential break between seasons, but we don’t know for sure.

This is created by the same team who is making the animated version (donghua) based on BTS video. If you prefer that, it’s fine but not everyone is able to watch 150+ episodes of the donghua. So just think of any profits from this drama as extra money to the author and donghua team.

YOUKU has it with English subs on their YouTube channel (slightly behind VIP/SVIP in timing).

True, sometimes there are secondary/side characters we don’t care about but they have them just to fill time. One of my favorite couples is a 3rd couple from “You Are My Lover, Friend” but the drama put them together very organically and didn’t spend too much time (although, they do deserve their own drama 😊).

I’m glad they are showing our protagonist wanting to just be by himself and chill while growing plants. Would be so much less stress and he can make a fortune using his green vial’s power.

After episode 1’s opening scene (when Han Li battled a monster), we jumped back 200 years to his origin story. So episodes 1-3 were ~200 years ago from “present day”. I can only assume that at certain point we will get back to the present time.
