To be fair, this is different from Ski into Love. Here they always planned on 24 episodes (and book is short, apparently) and that’s how many they filmed. On the other hand, Ski into Love had more episodes filmed than what was released originally so they had to do some major cuts. Now, OG does have some deleted scenes but that’s true with all movies and dramas. Even 40-episode long dramas (like Fireworks of My Heart) have deleted scenes.

I think she has good friendship with both groups. But it’s nice that her roommates are older because they can impart some wisdom to her.

Her roommates are very nice. It’s probably food for her that she’s rooming with older students as it gives her better perspective on life.

The actress also played Empress Dowager in “Are You the One”. She ran the country because Emperor was a little kid. She was nice to him (her son) but not so nice to the ML character.

Reminder to fans of the drama — make sure to watch the “special” episode. It’s about 30 minutes long and has extra scenes to flesh out different characters, including the leads. Last four minutes are very romantic and touching.

This is a must-watch for fans of the series ☺️

I was so focused on main leads, 2ML wasn’t an issue for me (I had a feeling he’d not get anywhere with FL).

Almost every high school and college C-drama had military training episode. WIFTY had a fun episode with heroes being up to no good :)

Netflix isn’t always correct for ongoing releases. Only 17 episodes have been released so far (16 on Netflix and Viki; 17 on source platform).

Maybe worth waiting until all episodes are out so people can give their verdict on episodes 18-24. In the meantime, watch WIFTY (When I Fly Towards You). It’s from the same author as TFF and HL but very light and with no needless stress & drama (only 24 episodes x 30-35 minutes).

Totally agree with your sentiment about this trope.
For TFF I was thinking about the first separation (after high school graduation); the second one (escape to Hong Kong) is more of a safety issue. I just appreciate that — for first separation — the author/writers explained everything fully and most people could see the logic in such actions by FL given her mental state.

Sigh, so the book handled it about the same as the drama. I agree that the trope is very tired and is usually ineffective (because so many dramas use it for no reason). The last great use of it was TFF 💔

LMLMV is pure food p**n, especially early on during wild cooking scenes. Snowstorm is my winter drama now :)

Have you watched “Fake It Till You Make It”? It’s only 14 episodes long but it’s my favorite realistic adult relationship C or K drama (just ignore the name, lol). It’s about busy professional people in their late 20s (2FL is slightly younger). Great soundtrack too.

ML will next be in high school in Episode 10. That’s all I can say 🤫

I think writers like to set stories in 1990s/2000s so that heroes don’t have access to smartphones and can’t FaceTime or WeChat.
