this is v funny & charming, but feels like they got new writers who don’t really know what’s going on from…
Glad I’m not the only person who feels this way. Most of the drama is very good (except for some repetitive stuff, especially with FL’s ex) but towards the end it becomes more like an average drama where writers forgot about realism & logic and things are unnecessary dramatic for no reason 🙄
The best & cutest romance in this drama is between FL’s brother and FL’s friend. ML & FL have great chemistry and are very enjoyable but the simpler romance of the second pair is so nice 😊
Oh hello! I'm just starting this one, did you like it, apart from the realism of the sport?
It has good sides (and people seem to really like it on Viki) but just be prepared for a lot of overdone tropes in the second half (misunderstandings, etc.). I liked Skate Into Love (2020) a bit better although that one had typical tropes too. Not counting Beyond (realistic, no romance), my favorite winter sports C-drama is My Unicorn Girl (2020). It’s funny and very well done :) If you haven’t watched it already, I recommended check it out too.
It’s pretty clear why his brother is forcing him — brother wants ML to return back to Carefree Land. What…
It’s possible FL was kidnapped for some bad purpose (to be sold into slavery, etc.), she escaped and accidentally ended up in Carefree Land. Moon bugs don’t bite her, so she may not be a half-demon. And ML’s “uncle” is very shady so he’s somehow involved… Maybe he kidnapped the FL?

I can see it going either way. Maybe the Land needs ML as reinforcement to protect it for the upcoming event connecting the two realms. But I’m more curious about FL’s kidnapping and all of that backstory.
Did the emergency situation happen on the flight to Dubai or on the return flight from Dubai to Manila? Or was…
I see you are watching Love Scout. That one is very good :) On C-drama side there are When I Fly Towards You (short and stress-free) and The First Frost (don’t need to watch Hidden Love before watching TFF); those two are by the same author and very good. Another recent one that people like is The Best Thing (I’d not say it the best but it’s very good).
That's an accurate translation but with Chinese titles there are many layers to the name. The third word 渡 (Dù)…
You’ve watched many more historical dramas, so thank you for sharing your opinions :) AYTO got 8/10 from you which is fair based on your other ratings. I’m more into modern dramas so slowly dipping my toes in the historical/costume genre. What are your favorite dramas with a lighter tone & good for ending? BTW, I really loved your review of “The Wind Blows from Longxi”; will watch it when I’m in a mood for something serious 🧐

Got it. Maybe will have to wait for shows 5 & 6 then. Do you know if they are being filmed? I’m aware of Avenues of the Diamond — will start on it once I finish #3. Wish they release it more frequently than once per week :)

I haven’t watched LYF yet :) I enjoyed smart characters who make logical choices in AYtO. I find it very disappointing when screenwriters rely on overused tropes and/or make characters do something completely illogical (not in line with their character); something like what happened in the last episode of The Autumn Ballad.

I’m waiting until I forget the chemistry between the lead pair in Are You the One before watching ML’s two other recent dramas (Si Jin and Rise of Ning) 😊

Ohhh… that makes sense now! Thank you so much for the great explanation. I love the characters in that drama (especially the FL) and they definitely do overcome a lot of challenges.

Is there an English translation for the books in the series? I’m halfway through the 3rd show so I may need to read books 5 & 6 while waiting for those shows to come out (don’t even see them listed on MDL yet).

Thank you so much! Out of curiosity, is there a similar deeper meaning behind the native title for Are You the One (柳舟记)? It’s auto-translated as Story of the Willow Boat but importance of such boats is very minor to the story so I am a bit confused (even after watching the drama twice, lol).

Right, that’s what I deduced. They kind of rushed through it and didn’t make it clear though. But everything else was well done and the scene where ML met the daughter and all of that was just so sweet 🥰
In Korea, if it's just on streaming platforms, not much censorship. They have more freedom, take for example Queen…
Wasn’t aware of Queen Woo — thanks! Most explicit scene I can remember in K-drama was in The Glory. For C-dramas it’s always amusing to find out through the comments that a pretty tame drama is based on a very explicit novel :) Heck, in “Amidst a Snowstorm of Love” we had zero bedroom scenes before FL had a pregnancy scare 🤣
