Nothing has been announced yet. It depends on financial performance of this season. Apparently the budget was quite high due to shooting at natural locations, lots of VFX, and a large cast.

Over the course of the novels, NGW is a FL. But looks like we aren’t getting to that part yet. Maybe in future season(s).

Present day is 2024 (adult life) and the past is 2014 (last year of high school). First four episodes were in high school but we will probably see college & even post-college time and eventually make it back to 2024.

No, WCR is fine 😊 She’s filming another drama right now. This “Fireworks” drama got delayed because another actor got in trouble (he was also in a different drama that got delayed — it got released recently because they did a CGI face swap). I was just joking about the fact that WCR has not-yet-released dramas on all the platforms :)

First (and main wife) is NGW but it happens hundreds of years after current day (as of Ep. 22). Witthout giving away too much, HL escapes to a different place (could be end of season 1), travels over there (hypothetical season 2?), and when he returns some things happen & he eventually gets together with NGW (so, season 3?). To give you an idea, donghua is at 150+ episodes and people said ML & FL aren’t together yet (donghua will end in 2040 at this rate… no joke).

We don’t know about Season 2 yet. The plot is good and moves along briskly if you have right expectations. This is NOT a romance drama — focus is on main character’s journey to immortality and trying to stay alive in a harsh world of cultivators who are not all nice & friendly. I haven’t read the original novels or watched ongoing animated version (donghua), but still enjoying it.

Romance is very, very secondary in this drama — it’s staying true to the original novels (and in-process animated version). Realistically, we only have one main character and everyone else is a supporting person. If you want to find out what happens romance-wise much later in the novels, you can read the comments. Readers of the books gave us a lot of answers.

Apparently ML is described as plain looking in the novels, so they are using lines from the books. But given Yang Yang’s looks, the lines come across as funny 😄

I’m sure you will enjoy this! But you also have to remember that both versions (live action and donghua) are based on the novels. And if you don’t want to find out spoilers for donghua (which so far covered maybe 20% of the novels), don’t read the comments here :) And, oh, despite MDL having “romance” tag, they stuck close to novel/donghua when it comes to [lack of] romance, lol

Han Li may not end up with anyone in the live action drama but as of the original novels… you can read about that in the comments here 😉
