He’s a “direct entry into PhD program” (whatever that means) so he’s still an undergraduate for now. A commenter below confirmed FL said ML is “only 20”.

Their relationship started in high school (they were desk mates). Seems it stated in last year of high school (2014) and went for years after that. They were definitely broken up by the time of present day (2024). FL broke up with him because he was a lazy bum.

I just LOVE how every explanation that FL gives to convince her family or others always involves ML somehow. “Lin says ______ “ 🤣🤣🤣

Things are not going so great for the good guys 😔

It’s not a new premise but it’s done very well thanks to the great work by the leads (and screenwriters). Kind of how “You Are My Lover Friend” is not a new concept (friends to lovers) but it’s done amazingly well (and even third pair has their own song on the OST, lol)

One of my recent favorites is The Day of Becoming You (from 2021). Some people didn’t like how things got explained in the end, but I really enjoyed it as it made things more grounded. And it’s one of the funniest C-dramas I’ve ever watched, so good 😊

I need to pay more attention when I re-watch it :) But, to me TRP always felt like a “real” reincarnation/time travel/whatever. This fluffy drama feels more like a dream because they keep showing a comatose person.

If there are more seasons of the drama, NGW may not show up until very end of season 2/beginning of season 3, right? I don’t know how many chapters there were before HL returned and rescused NGW. 🤔

Just think of sects as an equivalent to large corporations in our world. Those corporations aren’t nice and many people who work in them aren’t nice.

Minor correction — there are 7 episodes left: 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30. But, yes, could have been longer. And too bad donghua isn’t close to being completed, so can’t binge watch it until the end.

Maybe someone is posting those novels unofficially.

In the novel, there’s a female character who is so beautiful and so desired, she ends up using a spell (or something like that) to conceal her true appearance. But we will not see that character until Season 2, I guess.

That drama is very focused on ML & FL but secondary leads are also given enough time. Maybe it was different in the novel though. P.S. I will always remember “Amidst…” for the drama having a pregnancy scare without ever showing any hints of intimacy (apparently the novel was much steamier).

The actress who plays FL’s mom (Cui Yi) is so nice as usual. She must be one of the leading candidates whenever a script calls for a “nice mom” instead of “toxic” or “overbearing” mom.

He was really good as a secondary lead in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love.

Wasn’t there a real time travel (well, woke up as younger self) in The Royal Princess?

She’s not immune to love, but this time it’s clear FL is prioritizing academic success.

To be fair, that’s how he was described in the original novel and in donghua. But with Yang Yang in the lead role, it does become kind of funny 😄

It’s very good as long as you don’t expect a romance-focused drama. This is all about the main character’s cultivation.

I was also late because the special episodes don’t usually make it to Netflix, Viki, Amazon, etc. So I often find out about them when searching for a main drama on MDL to leave a review/rating.
