I still think original screenwriters of that drama were abducted by aliens and final episodes were written by AI whose only prompt was “write a sad melodramatic ending where FL goes crazy” without feeding AI any of the earlier scripts. I always use ABL as an example of ending going horribly wrong; similar to how I use “Fated Hearts” as an example of drama that started off great but completely went off the deep end (starting with episode 16).

Haha… Let’s be honest, it’s almost impossible for a drama on MDL to get below 7. Like it needs to be really, really bad and make people mad (which “A Beautiful Lie” succeeded in doing with its awful ending episodes which ruined everything).
Maybe it will turn out that both grandmas know each other and that the leads are fated for each other but ML’s…

I’d a review gives 7, that’s perfectly normal. I’m more talking about reviews who give 1.0-3.0. Regardless of how I feel about a particular drama, those reviews are always suspicious to me. If even “A Beautiful Lie” has 6.5 on MDL, there shouldn’t be 1.0 reviews 😉
Ahh… looks like the typical hater/troll accounts are at it again. Just checked some of the lower rated reviews and many are written by accounts I had flagged & blocked due to prior behavior. Not to say that everyone should love this drama but when it’s an account with no history or with almost 1.0 ratings for their dramas, clearly something is shady 🧐🤨🙄

Hotels do give out keys to the same room to different people (it has happened). And I think they did a pretty good job of showing WHY they didn’t notice each other. For example, FL thought that wet footprints and noises were her imagination (because she sees & bears that all the time). And then he got super drunk and stumbled into bed in the dark. Honestly, this is a lot more realistic compared to, say, trucks that hit people on a 5-line intersection when they see them clearly or some other tropes :)

Nowadays I don't know whether every drama is coming with only 12 episodes or even less than that.
12-14 episodes seems to be the norm for K-dramas nowadays (even less if it’s a Netflix drama). It’s actually not that bad because when dramas were 16-20 episodes, writers would oftentimes get lazy and insert filler episodes, like leads breaking up for 3-4 episodes because of some absurd reason. Now they still break up (lol), but it’s usually only 1 episode (or parts of 2 episodes). But if you want longer shows, C-dramas are usually much longer.

WCR’s character is supposed to be the femme fatale / bad girl in this novel, from what I understand. Neither ML nor FL are green flags but in this one FL is more like reddish flag and ML is organge flag, lol.

I prefer to avoid spoilers but FL is clearly out to seek revenge and rhe novel author has done her best to make lives difficult for FL & ML.
P.S. If you liked WCR in How Dare You, highly recommend Are You the One. Her character there is awesome and the leads are so good together (and her dubbing in AYtO is better than in HDY).
