She has all the right to feel that way. She does not see the part of the story the viewers see. And so far, her relationship with the prince has not evolved because of herself and as well as the script..and even if she wanted to see him in a new light, so far, she still believes the script will do her dirty. His quest for power will cost her her life, and after the events where she has been forced to follow the script in EP 17, and when the scene with her sister happened in EP 22, even if she is thinking wrong about him, she can't afford to trust either him or the script.

I agree. What a lot of people are àctually missing is she has zero reason so far to trust the ML, specially after the sister s episode. No matter how hard the Ml wants her to see him in a new lîght, she is too densé to see it, and the script is not helping the evolution. We are that compassionate with ML only because we saw his full part of the history. And i am sure the female lead would soften up to him too if she knew . We saw how LSL s book helped them deepend their bond and relationship.

She did try to eliminate him, and she knows the story is favoring him because he is the ML. And she does not feel connected enough with the characters to want to go extreme for them. The only person she really bonded so far with is LSL, but mainly because she thinks he is a special character who can help her break out of her fate.
Actually she just want to stay away from the ML and the script, and living a lavish life while she can in this world.
I actually can't see why people are hating on her. She was never been described as the brightest, and her silliness help lifting the tension of the story which is quite heavy despite all the comedy.
But yes, I am really interested to know how their story will unfold. People want them to get together already, but I am okay to have them taking their time, due to all the misunderstandings, and how the script want to do them dirty so much

People here pitying ML and bashing FL over it while forgetting she so far has solid reasons to be wary of him, even if it s a whole misunderstanding is the exact point Li ShiLui s book has been trying to prove when ML wanted to befriend FL via LSL s story: handsome, strong, yet miserable.

That s a very good point.. besides, the emperor is very smart and cunning himself, and he does know how to plays events in his advantage. When he figured out his son love SYM, he made a plan to make him step down from the prince crown competition, and even took 10 k soldiers from him. I really want to see what are his real intentions. He is too smart to be reduced to only an abusive father

I can't really understand what people are reproaching the episodes. We already know the keys points that will move on the script, and SYM has already written them. Next move will be for EP 22, and it's clear the episodes before will be leading the way so the scene can happen, while some episodes after will deal with the aftermath. It has been the same for EP 3, 10, and 17 so far. So while the characters are out of the script, they are doing whatever, and we are learning more about them. I get that some episodes are more exciting than others, comedy or story wise, but that does not mean episodes not meeting the expectations you have for them are bad.

I think there is more to it than a simple hatred for his family, or the cause of them late empress s death.
He was biased against his son even before the empress s death, and mom s male lead said he forced marriage on her for political purposes. And the beff he has with ML s Uncle has been there before he was born.
I think that he knows the full potential of his son, knows he has powerful back up, and wether it is through rebellion of peaceful accord, he can snatch the power from the potential crown prince anytime. I think he is purposely pushing his button to make him react or do a mistake, so he can know what he is really scheming. And I do think he really wants want an heartfelt conversation between them , but too many waters has passed under the bridge, and he is now prisoner of this loop of violence and abuse he created for him and his son.

I am the only one who is enjoying her roasting him in front of his persona? Lol and I noticed he is okay with people badmouthing him, even if he is upset, as if he had accepted this, but is totally in a mess when she is doing it.
And watching some comments here and for other dramas, I think we should give the team production some graces. Some drama can be bad without little salvation points, some can be just not your taste, or the thing you should be enjoying in a moment of your life, but let us at least appreciate the hard work every body put to make those shows available to us, and not reduce them only to romantic scene, political intrigues, comedy, or even actors that goes with our tastes. Like I saw people praising okay dramas like they were masterpieces, only because there was something that captivated them for the whole série..and i have seen people dropping one, or keep on badmouthing it till they finish it just because it took a road they did not like.
I think reducing the hard work of a whole team on our whims is a real insult to them. Let's be more fair in our judgements ! 🙃

Nah, I think she is her own person. I have watched some of her drama, and she is a real delight. And physically, I thinks she looks more like the girl who played FL s cousin in prisoner of beauty than Bai Lu

What killed me is the fact that the woman asked him 2 taels and there is no change. Normally in dramas, it's always the leads that offer an exaggerated sum of money ( a1 or 2 tael sometimes) and ask the vendor to keep the change. Took me 30 sec to get the connection 😂😂😂

I think we may see the key scene happening almost the same way they were described when FL was reading the script. In EP 3 in the script she was saved from the water, and this scene happened exactly in ep3. The same way, in EP 10, we had the festival scene, and in our EP 10, the festival happened too. I think EP 17 should be her marriage with SML. I will follow to see if they will keep up like this

Don't forget that you , as the viewer, only know his side of the story. And she already went to the script and know full well how her character will grow miserable and provoke her how death because of him. Their encounters so far have not helped the situation. You are the only one who know he is not that bad. Nobody else does.
It s like this Severus Snape situation. Everyone was hating on him for 6 whole books, till he get his moment of grace and everybody knew he always was on the good side.
We need to learn to treat informations right, and understand the characters accordingly. She is behaving the right way, and in her shoes, I would totally do the same, because all the informations I d have so far would point to him trying to kill me ( which he has been actively doing, and still plan to do if she ever discover his plan to befriend her as the mask guy)

I do think she looks more like the actress who played A' fan, the FL s cousin in prisoner of beauty.

And seriously, we should put the blame where it really belongs. To the villain ( forgot his name). If he has not mingled with their tribulation, things could have gone smoother, even if they had made the same choices.

My brain processes the punishment was only his, because before I thought he did not help her at all and just go to heaven to get some punishment in her place . So after the fight with the emissary and he told him he will get his punishment, I thought that it had nothing to do with the female lead anymore.

There is something I don't get. Did not the punishment BJS received was for helping FL? The emissary told him to get to heaven to receive HIS punishment. Did he took her place, or the punishment was for helping her and covering for her only?

Yes, I agree with you. And I loved how the serie and the conversations here can even be impactful to us as human, teaching us how to grow and understand more the others we may be in feud with.
And by some insightful reasonings I saw in a lot of comments here, I am sure by that that time their authors have grew some long white bear out of wisdom, and are waiting for not so long to ascend to heaven.
