They aren't. YYS got nearly 1.5 million likes on his wrap up post in less than 24 hours lol. Engagement is still super high on anything with YYS and CSB's name on it. Tiktok videos with them still get high engagement. What's happening on ratings sites is not being reflected across other parts of the internet. Twitter had some discussion but it has died down and the people posting about it have moved on back to their regularly scheduled K-content without linking to anything that would direct people on how to help those in Gaza. It's quite something to watch.

Same on Google ratings. The accounts have only rated When the Phone Rings and the ratings are a literal copy paste. Sites should moderate ratings when there are such obvious campaigns against shows.

It won't change minds. This campaign has never been about changing minds in the first place but has always been about people who feel powerless directing their anger at something to make their voices heard thinking it will change things. My views on the I/P conflict are still the same.

Thanks for reading it lol. I think it's very important to have perspective. Lim Yoona and Lee Junho have gotten more popular since the King the Land controversy. In Western media, they are going to refer to the global popularity of When the Phone Rings on Netflix when they write articles about K-dramas to watch. These are the things with influence not these fake ratings. YYS will probably get a Baeksang nomination for this role next year given the rave reviews of his acting. In the end, it won't change anything because the people who care passionately about I/P are a very vocal minority and frankly on the basis of election results, they are not changing many minds.

You know it's so funny to me when people say that the general population in a country is not ok with something on the basis of internet posts. If you look at American social media, you would think the biggest issue in the past year has been I/P but election surveys showed that only 1% of the voting population cared about it. Most countries in the world still trade with and have normal diplomatic relationships with Israel because the populations in these nations (if they have the right) usually vote in governments that are pro-Israeli. Again, the real world interest in the I/P issue doesn't match the enthusiasm of certain corners of the internet and people should recognize that.

Don't understand why you can't wrap your head around the fact that people may have a different opinion of the drama than you have. It's clear this is a new issue people are seizing on to create a hate train against the drama.

Does it occur to you that people have a different opinion of the conflict? Why is that so hard to understand? Do people think a Pro-Palestinian viewpoint on the conflict is universal?

It's so frustrating to watch. If you are skipping parts of the show and suddenly something doesn't make sense, shouldn't you just go back and watch the parts you skipped?

You have been all over this page since the afternoon hating on this drama. It's pretty clear what's going on here. Why not wait for a clarification? Also, why is the possibility of a mistranslation so hard to understand?
