I think they had to write it that way to make the censors happy. IMO it was originally supposed to be a 'non-traditional couple' relationship but that didn't go over well with the folks in charge...

I'm looking forward to watching this again. I'm just now getting around to watching LGIEF (I know...late to the show, but whatever) and then I'll follow it with a rewatch of Moonlight. I enjoyed Moonlight when I watched it the first time, so it was an easy choice to rewatch it.

I see your point. I was just thinking that the 'initial' attraction present in all the avatars Chengcheng has presented would exude her pheromones, even the alpaca, and because of that, he wanted to get to know the each of them better since subconsciously, it's the scent that draws him in. I think the aspects he likes in of each of those avatars are a part of Chengcheng's personality, which he'll eventually find out.

I enjoy this drama because there is so much depth in it for us to discuss!

I haven't watched the whole series yet, but I feel like pheromones may be the key to the ML's attraction! No matter what form the FL takes, her scent would still be the same, and the ML finds himself responding to that instead of her appearance. Pheromones are mentioned in an earlier episode when the SML says it's a person's nose that causes them to have a crush.

I want to know how they trained the 'real' alpaca to sit so calmly while our ML nattered on about his feelings...

Maybe a River Runs Through It. It's a smaller group of friends but IMO it has a similar set up. This is the English title. I believe the Chinese title is Shang You.

I think he has some empathy but he has poor social skills. You can see that in the way he interacts with his 'friends' at the beginning of the first episode. Hopefully that will improve as the episodes go on.

It's fairly obvious even from the first episode that he's not very comfortable with small talk and casual social interactions. That might make him seem like a jerk since he just says what he things.

I think it's one of those things the viewer has to actually think through. A lot of people want a shallow script that's easy to digest instead of one that makes you consider how actions and interactions affect the characters.

I'm surprised the rating has dropped. I've enjoyed the episodes I watched.

I'm an old lady but I love this program! Even with all the fighting and bad guys, it still manages to put out a positive message.

I really like "Hi Venus". It's a cute story and the relationship between the main characters is healthy. It's not perfect, but it's fun to watch.

I thought he did okay in A League of Nobleman but he still was a bit awkward compared the Jing Bo Ran.

I hope the contemporary drama he's filming with Angel Zhao turns out to be a good series. Contemporary series are more my style. He looks good in all of their publicity stills but that doesn't guarantee that the script will be well done.

Song Wei Long is a fine looking man, and his acting has improved a lot over the last few years. To me he's gotten better at those micro-expressions...he's using those gorgeous eyes to their full advantage. I hope he can continue to get parts that show more of his skill.

I watched the first episode and came away with mixed feelings. The story premise is interesting, and I think the acting is good enough to keep my interest. However, I find the costumes to be a distraction, especially the ML's headband, and some of the special effects aren't the best. (If the ML really grabbed the FL with his whip like that, wouldn't she bleed at least a little bit?) At least the FL isn't wearing a lot of make up in her position as the 'young master', so they've toned down her beauty, but she seems to be petite and slender to the point that I can't imagine anyone actually believing that she's a man. Anyway, I'll probably watch a few more episodes to see if I can get used to the stuff that bugged me in episode one. From what I've read in this section, it gets better, right?

Guardians of the Dafeng

WRC was the lead in "Fall in Love" and Miles Wei was a secondary character. Since then Miles Wei has been in a lot of different things as the ML. IMO he's not as versatile an actor as WRC, so what's the difference? I'd say it'd probably be the agency the actors work for. Just a thought...

He's still a young man, and it seems like he's intelligent and talented in a lot of different areas. I suppose it's possible that he's decided that he doesn't want to spend all of his time being an actor. Maybe he wants to take a different direction in life. I think that'd be disappointing for those of us who like him as an actor, but honestly, I could see that happening.

He looks really good in that dark blue outfit, doesn't he?
