I loved Eternal Summer, Love in the big city, Only friends, My stand in, The on1y one (the last two were written by women i think). Im not projecting my fantasies, but to me those shows feel more authentic.

There is a diff between a femme gay character and a bl character written by a female writer who has the insight of a 13 year old girl romanticising how a bl character behaves. Gelboys was done well. It was written by both male and female writers. I didnt enjoy Gelboys but I scored it high.

Bl are about mxm but also targeted at straight woman. What a straight woman likes is not what a gay person or a queer person would like. So straight bl audience generally wont prefer watching feminine bl characters. Its the same with GL couples. They are forced in Thai bl shows as if they were the "affirmative action" couple.
And they are trying to appeal to too many target markets. Gay men would not be watching lesbian p0rn. Its not about hate.

I agree that there is no single correct way a gay man or any queer person would behave BUT you can say that about all humans. One thing I have learned (from gay friends and reading discussion on reddit r/askgaybros ) is that they differentiate between being gay and being queer. (In fact I was surprised at the disdain towards queer and trans).
Different groups have different preferences and thai bls in particular are trying to satisfy them all.

But the problem I have with Thai bl characters is that they are not written authentically.

I can agree with you but its difficult to be authentic and I dont think a lot of Thai female writers are competent. They get carried away and project too much. It would not hurt them to run it past someone more in tune with how a gay male in that situation would behave.

Judging by the way a lot of thai bl male characters are written, I would think they behave like 15 year old girls. Other countries eg China - portray it a lot better from what I have seen).

I struggled to watch this - confused and bored. But I stayed because of the nc scenes. They were worth it. They were done so well.

I would have liked a less confusing, and more logical story. Fault is with editing and the story. Most times simple stories and less confusing plots work better. Less is more.

I would like it if more gay men were involved in writing bls.

Im female so I would never assume that I could understand things 100% from a male perspective. Even if I was queer it would not make me a gay man.

And a lot of women watching bl are misogynist anyway - read the comments on viki when they feel a female character is interfering with a bl romance.

Come on - this whole concept of this bl story is set in a fairy tale kingdom with royalty, a prince and "pretty" costumes. Its how many woman would write their fantasy romance bl story - so why just pick on the nc scenes. They are what I would expect.

Thai bl dramas do this more then others - where they have male bl leads cuddling teddy bears, being bashful and acting like virgin girls when it came to sex. Im a female but my male friends never behaved like that. Even the gays ones.
I wish they would be more realistic about gay sex, and gay male personalities and not create them in their female image.

What is he doing now - would like to see him in more bl dramas - esp with Jeff

Interested to hear your opinion once you have watched Between Us of UWMA

Im based in London but I dont go to these type of events. Its not my personality and I would feel uncomfortable. I enjoy the shows and actors but I dont take it to that next level.

I did not know these shows are recorded - and available for fans. Where are the recordings hosted? Sometimes I see some snippets on Youtube but I don't think I would watch a whole show.

Absolutely its possible to watch Between Us without UWMA. And to watch in any order.
UWMA is heavy so save it for when you feel like being sad.

A lot of people fell for the supporting couple in UWMA - BounPrem.
Between us is one of my comfort show. Its not perfect but the main leads compensate.

I think its okay that you addressed and questioned the posters behaviour, and pointed out your observations. Sometimes we have to challenge bad behaviour because it harms others as well if not addressed.

I enjoy getting into heated debates and I started off by wanting to attack them re issues you brought up - but ended up feeling differently after my research.
Maybe sometimes be kind as we never know what the other person is going through.

I appreciate that and Im glad that shows exist to cater to your taste. The love dovey dialogue - lol that is just too much for me to handle. I crave toxic and angst.

I heard there is a "Lover Merman" and Im cringing in advance.
The type of fantasy I like would be like science fiction or historical type dramas (eg Chinese).

My favourite couple (BounPrem) is doing a vampire show so Im torn as its something I dont enjoy either.

If wetv/tailai are the aggrieved party, I do expect they would sue GIR for financial costs of breaching contract. Maybe GIR would have no other recourse but to perform as the restitution costs may be too prohibitive.

If they dont sue I would be inclined to believe that they are at fault because its illogical to walk away from a financial loss.

There is monetary loss if the terms of a contract are not adhered - in earnings and costs to recast. Also the intangible brand value of SmartBoom

I think its a really interesting question so I was curious enough to look at the two profiles. I dont know how many other profiles they have but I dont think I have noticed them in other discussion boards.

Amaryllis_Flower This seems to be their permanent habitat and they have taken it upon themselves to respond and threaten any post that voice a negative opinion of TNP or its actors - especially her NuNew.

Trying to understand, I did a bit of internet research. I somehow dont think its financial. Its more likely celebrity worship syndrome /celebrity obsession disorder whereby they have become overly involved with the celebrity's personal and professional life.
