I feel like some of their posters with the leads come across as being framed through the male gaze (personal opinion). like I get the forced love part of the story & that it’s set in republican era but I’m like surely they can come up with a different concept for the posters (not all the posters are like this). I read this a couple months ago and I think her identity does get exposed, that’s why the ML send her north.
the ML’s hands were tied at the time & he was forced to send her away. he was betting on GJH’s character. there was an unspoken trust between him and the sml. the sml’s position in the north is kind of the same as the ML’s, so the ML gave something to the sml which he really needed at the time to secure his family’s position in the north, and once that happened he was willing to protect the FL bc he owed the ML. plus gu jihuan also liked her too so he was willing.
I liked it! it was kind of angsty but also rlly sweet (after the heartache) the drama synopsis is mostly same…

from what I remember, the FL gets married to the sml, and the ML is single (not sure if it was an legitimate marriage but the ML sent the FL to the sml’s side in the north to protect her. the sml knows that the ML & FL love each other & he has always been respectful. the FL & ML met again when the ML needed to accompany I think the princess to the North because she was going to have a political marriage. while he was there he was invited to a polo event in which the FL was there.
