Unpopular opinion but I hated that ending. When they used public opinion and other tactics throughout why couldn't they do the same for the ML to keep his job at the end rather than some noble gesture of sacrifice. Ticked me off!
Expected a better drama with this cast. The toxic ex loser plot was dragged too long. Even when it was resolved it was further stretched in the last quarter of the final episode, such that you don't really get much satisfaction out of the happy ending. It's neither emotionally heavy nor is it fluffy, just good at times but irritating as well due to the writers. The last episode should have had more fluff
FL too nosy for her own good. Her character was quite irritating throughout. None of the real bad guys faced any consequences. Quite frustrating: be it the cheating husband or the horrible step mother. Good guys didn't get happy ending bad guys got happy ending!!
I liked the ending even though initially would have preferred them running away at least they get a fresh start without any feeling of guilt. Would have liked to see the abuser's family suffer more. Nonetheless a good watch although the domestic violence scenes and the other characters specially the sister in law and mother in law could be quite taxing
I hate him in every single drama. I specially hated him in one spring night
On episode 4, so not sure if he is an ally or might turn into an antagonist in the second half. Initially when I started episode 1, I thought he would be the abuser. Hope get a happy ending for the FLs instead of some real legal justice crap at the end 🙈
Had great potential. Good actors and production but the screenplay writers should be docked some pay. The pacing was all over the place towards the latter half and the screenplay went off rails after episode 8. I guess this drama needed 16 episodes to properly flesh out the story they were trying to tell. With 16 episodes they could have properly fleshed out the village life timeline, the character motivations, the romance could have been done better and the pay off could have much better rather than cramming everything in the last 4-5 episodes. If it weren't for Jeon yeo been would have dropped it midway. Some threads were just dropped like her friend who was in contact with someone but they never reveal nor address it again like it's something forgotten on the writer's table. The romance is very undercooked for a show with a romance tag on it. Even at the end its quite jarring how a makjang type of drama suddenly goes all hometown cha cha cha!
not bad although could see the final twist coming almost midway through the series along with all other mystery plotlines. But nonetheless enjoyable in general
Quite a frustrating watch after the midway point. Found it good initially but as I watched it further the episodes and characters got more frustrating. Didn't find proper catharsis. Good actors with bad writing. Also Kdramas should do away with the whole penultimate episode break up or separation trope only for leads to end up together in the day; either break them up for good or if you have no intention of it just don't create the whole emotional separation scenario in almost every drama with romance. It's getting a bit stale with last 5 minutes of reunion scenes
Great social commentary. Don't know why its rated so low. Quite metaphorical about the human condition in modern societies. Meta in many ways. Loved the nod to David Lynch style of surrealism in episode 7 and the structure of the game show similar to some of the reality shows around the world
quite an overrated series overall. From the reviews and the buzz thought it would be at the level of dramas like the glory but after watching it a bit disappointed. What kdramas does better is emotions but somehow I found it missing and it felt like a more americanised show overall
