Why some dramas have no posters, trailers, or promos even after passing review?Re-Review or Extended Post-Production…
Just to clarify, this is based on information I’ve gathered from my own experience following cdramas+plus insights shared by long time fans who are very familiar with NRTA rules and platform practices. I’ve been collecting and cross checking this info over time. It’s a bit long, so I’m putting it under a spoiler, but I wanted to explain properly because too many fans are worried about VOS being silent and having no promotion🥲

Why some dramas have no posters, trailers, or promos even after passing review?
Re-Review or Extended Post-Production (the biggest reason)
Even after filming is completed, Chinese dramas must pass NRTA censorship before they can move forward. However, passing review doesn’t always mean “fully cleared for broadcast.” Issues can still surface after the initial review, especially during final inspection or platform evaluation.
Common problem areas include: Storylines involving politics, power struggles, revenge, crime, supernatural elements, or monsters Morally ambiguous protagonists or characters with questionable ethics. An overall tone that is considered too dark, oppressive, or violent Historical or cultural accuracy concerns in period dramas. Visual presentation that appears too eerie, bloody, or disturbing. When any of these raise concerns, the drama may be sent back for: Re-editing (adjusting pacing, lighting, or scene order) Cutting or shortening entire story arcs Softening visuals (color grading, sound effects, intensity) Reshoots or added scenes to rebalance the narrative.
📌 During this process, promotion is strictly PROHIBITED.
Platforms cannot release posters, trailers, or teasers while a drama is undergoing re-review or post-production adjustments, even if it has technically passed an earlier stage.
SO FANS SHOULD STOP WORRYING SO MUCH, IT'S GJM FAULT AND HIS DARK AESTHETICS😆
While searching for that monster crawling on the rooftop, I have to watch this again, JJY’s action scenes are just incredible. So foxy😭😭 The way she squats and moves with such fluidity, I’m starting to think she is that fox monster. I can already tell this is going to be an absolutely thrilling sequence.
Really?😆 I don't want to sound pessimistic but don't you think it's smth with VoS, not even Youku? Don't know…
Did you watched it?Gosh, I can't handle it. It’s literally pure horror 😭too many gruesome killings. It makes sense in a straight up murder case and horror story that all the scenes are like that. But VOS is a romance drama, so while it passed the review, the scenes really need to fit the content and tone of the story. They can’t just throw in nightmare level horror for no reason, it has to serve the drama and the romance too 😰Otherwise, it ends up feeling way too shocking for the genre.
Really?😆 I don't want to sound pessimistic but don't you think it's smth with VoS, not even Youku? Don't know…
Yeah, just calm down, everything will be fine. I’m more worried about what might get cut, but you’re right, it’s totally a VOS thing 😆 The scene where Rui crying a river of blood, with it even coming out of his mouth, I can’t even watch that.😭 And also Joseph cutting his own limbs. Most of the cast go through terrifying torture scenes involving their body parts 😰 It’s just way too disturbing and frightening 😭😭 Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if every single scene is being reviewed multiple times before getting a license. Seems GJM really outdid himself with trauma this time with emotional and straight-up nightmare-level horror😭😆
Really?😆 I don't want to sound pessimistic but don't you think it's smth with VoS, not even Youku? Don't know…
I bet VOS is full of different monsters and demons, it won’t just traumatize us with angst, it’s a nightmare GJM personally handcrafted to haunt our souls😆😭

Don’t be so negative 😆 Why are you already thinking there’s something wrong with VOS. It's still in post production and you know how GJM works. He always films insanely heavy scenes. Just look at rui Reuter, eyes full of blood😭 creepy shots and that monster crawling on the roof, that was straight-up nightmare fuel 😭 I’m sure he filmed tons of scenes like that for VOS, which is why it’s still being edited and going through reviews. All that dark intense and horror-level detail doesn’t just get cut overnight. So it’s not delayed because of drama issues, it’s delayed because GJM went all out again 😆
Do you know if Jadewind got license? Last time I checked there was none but they are clearly preparing to air...
That’s why I doubt it will be broadcast this Feb as well. There’s still no license yet and the promo event that was supposed to happen last Feb 7 didn’t push through. It’s all just rumors.
