I was wrong. I got past ep10 and now I'm 💯 in. Everyone else bringing up past Cdramas are wrong too though - there is nothing like it, this is full sit-down-for-hours-marathon LOTR style show, if LOTR included every single snippet from the Silmarillion. The show is a beast, and you'll need some serious brain power to get through it - it's not family dinner fodder or youll end up trying to rewatch it five times like I did.
I simply don't understand why the rating isn't higher
Because even though we can tell it's high production, veteran cast, etc etc, it needs patience and a willingness to sit down and just trudge through it for almost 50hrs. Not a small feat. Like a well made textbook but you fell asleep at chapter 3 because there was just too much to take in. This is from someone who STUDIED ancient history and liked it.
The body was in the end a completely random person. Almost no previous screen time . Who was the man Ren Xiaoming…
IMHO you missed most of the emotional journey if you think the ending has no impact on the audience - it's not about screentime, it's about what mattered to the characters. It's like, you wont miss an Easter egg if it's just chocolate, but if someone promised it to you and you lost it, or they didnt give it to you, then that would piss you off wouldn't it?
I came here to say it's getting really confusing but then I saw everyone's comments. I know it's meant to be a show of everyone can be anyone - but what FoF did well was its restraint. THIS, is frankly a mess and especially in fight scenes, I can no longer tell who is meant to be who or on who's side. They just really need to limit down the fight scenes at least to have no doppelgangers. Too late given it's already shot, but damn I really hope the rest of the show is not like this.
More of an issue - in almost every country in the world, under 16 is statutory rape. It means it doesnt matter how old the other person is, the kid has no right to decide (and legally cant).
the FL for sure a nepo baby since she was questionaed to get good projects with not soo much buzz due to her parents.
If you think it's ok for 16 yr olds (especially in china) to do marriage scenes, there is something seriously wrong here P. S. i LIKE HTT, and thinks shes a great actress, which is EXACTLY why she shouldn't be exploited
Why did dramas cast these young actresses in their shows, genuinely asking. This drama, and the one with HMH...…
Ill be happy if it's just plot and action with zero romance, but it is NOT ok even in the western side of the world, to cast an 18 year old as a romance lead to someone almost 30, given 18 isnt even legal in half the world for non naked bed scenes (literally half of HTT's resume still reads "Little Girl" as the role) #epsteinfiles
Is this drama similar with Light of Dawn, because i think I'm interested in this drama, and Light of Dawn is one…
It's like one of those weird westernised artsy shows, the type that NiNi usually does in movies for awards, but now there 30 hours of it.. It's refreshing after all the latest idol fluff but it's not for everyone, and you have to take the time to invest in the characters, and it probably wont make sense until ep30 (that's my expectation anyways).
This one totally fell under the radar, it's not everyday the likes of NiNi ranks below ZHL 😅.. but loving how after a certain movie she no longer wears much make up - this should be how all shows are in the new age, you dont always have to be pretty to give good drama art
