I have an answer to the ep20 trailer... My guess is...dead, any takers for bets? π Sorry the plot is grinding on me now, i almost thought it was 40 eps since they have to restart, but thank god it isnt. It's still good, but there's a reason why transmigrating dramas dont go past certain number of repetitions and seriously, it's just very very close to enough is enough. Also, random thought but if RFX ends up being the serial killer then Im going to throw a cushion at the tv. Yep im calling it first!
Ok i finished and well... it's what happens when you let writers loose with What Ifs and they come up with Throw Plot Armour Out the Window. They experimented, it didnt cost too much and the show exists, and that's that.
I just started.. but thought I'd jump in to say I always find it ridiculous when ancient drama people ask how long does a trip take while on said trip. I mean, how did they pack? π
Just started, but the synopsis makes WY not sound like the lead? P. S. Reading the comments and seriously, anyone calling this a patriotic preach didnt watch ep2. This is so far the most unpatriotic republican show I've seen from China, and that's in 30 years.
It depends on your classification of supernatural... Elements? Yes. Think horror themes, mental delusions etc.…
For now yes but since that was ep9, and im on 17 with 10 eps to go, I frankly have no idea where this show is trying to take us anymore lol. That's the best bit about this show.
If someone says Kong-loon City one more time, i might just throw a cushion at the tv... I never see mando versions of TVB shows calling Mainland "Big land", so just dont. Apparently its so low budget whoever did the dubbing cant count to 9. πββοΈ
Halfway through - it's kind of a shame how Joseph feels like a filler run but considering I also watched his TVB lots, I can see why (ie schedule). Marketing wise it's obvious why he's running that route (no mega breakthrough hypes for the China shows, he doesnt even get the artsy award types he gets in HK) but he just feels so underused in ever respect atm.
Iβm not happy with adult Zhang Fang and He Yuqiong actors! So many younger and better-looking actors in China.…
I loved HYQ's casting - never watched him before and was kind of taken aback by how not handsome he turned out but that's realism. People get old, become ugly π
Finished it in canto - one of the better made honkie shows in recent years but ONLY because it's not compatible with the TVB crowd. It feels a lot more like a Youku short drama, but I like that it didnt go into unnecessary plots, since it's meant to be based on true stories (@final_flash, maybe you missed this detail). Eliza does a great job - five lines of character development is probably where her acting limit still sits π. Michael is, well Michael so dont expect anything different. He gets roughly 50 lines of character development.π It's also a good thing the rest of it is shallow enough, that no one from the writers to the directors bothered to add themes, or tried to be all lecturer about bad things that's happened. They either pulled off the most impressive restraint on story writing in HK history, or they got lucky with the laziest bunch in a certain camp of tvb (which would also be commercially a genius move). It's a good example of where bad HK production can still prosper into a well made show. If you like sitting around campfires listening to interesting stories without judgement, dramatised documentary style like "cool story bro" vibes, this is probably for you. Everyone else can probably give it a skip.
