Man they are slowly but surely losing me. There's too many aliens no matter how good the cgi is - I used to love Master Xu's shows for the history references and tomb hunting, but lately the last two feels like War of the Worlds sans Tom Cruise.
10 eps in and Im suddenly realising why a lot of people dont like this show. Yes the AI editting is horrendous, but more issue than that, is that none of the characters are lovable or remotely likeable. It's not even about war and horrors of the Republican times, so how brutal people were to each other in this show is utterly unjustified. This is from someone who the show classifies "unfortunate", and I dont really mind the hypocrisy of the characters because that's pretty realistic, heck I can pretty much name one person in my life for every character here. All I'm saying is that I can see why you'd have at least half the world hating it, and the rest on the fence.
Joseph Zeng is really good at playing spoiled, annoying, hot-tempered, funny, and mischievous characters. He absolutely…
It's good he's back to the things he's good at, although im yet to see HK TVB version bad ass Joseph in cDrama - which would be really really cool but i guess the PR guys said no for image reasons.
I know it's kind of his signature, but every time I see jeremy cry, I die a little on the inside.. like can he have a happy go lucky role for once? π
Wow, think I'm the only one still here but anyone who thinks this is Strange Tales (and I'm a Strange Tales fan) hasn't seen the show to the end. The pacing is incredible, and it's the first time in many many years for a mysteries show, that I really genuinely didn't see the plot twists coming. I still think after everything, the best case was the brothel case - absolutely did not see that one coming at all, and kudos to the Director and Editors for the awesome awesome story telling. Tbh, this show could've been awesome with any actor/actress - it's just a super awesome script with clearly thought through storytelling. I came for HHS and I still think her face is working against her age (meaning she doesn't get roles that doesn't involve babyfaces) but I left thinking what a shame if I didn't watch this one play out. If i could give this one 11 stars, I would've. Anyone who's studied film enough would've told you they somehow managed to cover every formula of mystery telling from Sherlock to Whodunnit. It's just brilliant. Can't wait for season 2 but high hopes now!
I donβt consider a 10-year age gap to be that big of a deal. My issue is that the female actress was 17 during…
Awesome - I did read and it's called Chinese Law and the NRTA, where engagement in any sexual implications is prohibited for minors under 18. Maybe you should take your own advice given where the show is filmed.

Absolutely agree- im all for child actresses playing exactly that, children. Anything else, then the laws of the world should apply and the CCP should really be cracking down on it, because adult themes on screen for underage actresses is literally the world wide definition of pedophilia content. It's already the second time this year, hopefully someone powerful notices.
So.. another transmigrating drama? Can someone explain to me how the chinese industry works, does someone pick A Thing and send it out there asking for everyone to make that thing so we get torrents of them? Anyways, on EP1 but someone tell me what im watching out of a clear avoidance of rewatching Nanyan Archives π
