Title The Bangkok Boy Spoiler
What do you mean Sun's dad told him that he has to die and Sun casually assuring him that he'll handle it?!?!?!?!?…
I'm not here to answer questions but... Whaaat? If the dad said he would die then why is Sun so hell bent on revenge??! If the dad knew why didn't he protect himself? Or why wasn't Sun shocked?? Like what is going on!??
I also need answers, this story is getting out of hand.

I have to let you know, Cantonese and Mandarin are both Chinese languages lmao. I haven't started this yet but…
True, I wasn't really thinking, because people generally use Chinese to refer to mandarin, but yes, they both are Chinese languages. (and as it turns out there was a little Cantonese used, but it's mainly mandarin Chinese). ✨

Thank you 🫶. That was the one point that got me confused, so this makes a lot of sense!

They are mixing the two style like when Chinese people speak Chinese/English😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ooooh, thank you. Now I'm a little less confused ❤️😂😅

I started watching it yesterday and 15 minutes into it, I couldn't take it anymore. Maybe I've watched way too…
Honestly the beginning felt boring to me too (first two ep), but as the series progressed I really started to enjoy it, so I would recommend giving it another try!

Are they speaking Cantonese or Chinese? It says that it's a Taiwanese Series, but they talked about being in Hong Kong and two of the actors are from Hong Kong...? I thought I would be able to differentiate between the two and I was leaning towards Chinese, but I'm confused. At first I thought the mom was speaking Cantonese, but the ML Chinese and now I've given up trying to differentiate. Can someone please enlighten me?

I'm currently at EP 8 now and umm...Am I missing something? How did Sun and Peace's relationship develop to the…
Yesss, sooo, um,... I don't think you missed anything. It just happened. People really raved about the NC scene, but honestly to me it felt empty. Their relationship didn't have a lot of time to develop and why did Sun suddenly want to sleep with Peace?? It felt so random to me and not like an act of actual love, but rather like some spice to entertain the viewers.

I was honestly enjoying this a lot, but the NC scene changed my opinion a bit. I will definitely finish the drama, but the romance feels a bit rushed/forced. So yeah, you're not the only one who was confused :/

The Malaysian short 'Langit Budak Biru' might be of interest to you. Similar topic, well made and quite haunting…
Thank you, I'll definitely have a look!

Wtf is up with lead and the secretary’s mentality?? “By force” like when are bl shoes gonna stop glorifying…
Agreeee! Because this is
1. Fictional and a bit exaggerated I try to look past some stuff
2. Chinese BLs are "new" to the scene so I'm trying to be more forgiving
Buuut, I irks me that they portray Chi Cheng (who knows he is and openly shows that he's gay) in such a toxic way. I know this might seem like a weird comparison, but in the past (and in some societies still) people believe that being gay is abnormal and perverted and I don't enjoy it when you have a gay representative in a show who shows toxic behaviour and sexual assault... like, why?

Anyway, as said I'm trying to look past this because the couples are so cute and the chemistry is there aaand, finally a full length Chinese BL!! I just hope they "evolve" a little into less toxic behaviour dynamics. 💕

Ooooh, very good observation, especially because dramas always need an unobvious bad guy who is known to the viewers!…
But are we sure it was the guy from the coffe shop who demanded the 30 Mio. baht? If it's true though then it probably is mostly about power (/control). I honestly think will never get why power is so tempting , but it's the only logical explanation, although I'm sure money would play a role too. The only question is, why is he working at a coffee shop? Is this a lobbyist hobby? He definitely has too much time then lol. I also didn't actually notice the scene where he goes to the wrong floor in the hospital... it must have gone over my head.

And yesss! Complex plots are so much more fun, the guessing games, suspicions, surprises and ambiguous characters makes watching the series so much more engaging. Love and fluff can be nice, but gets monotonous too easily, it's harder to keep you entertained...

I didn't finish the sign (maybe I should get back to it). The only reason is that I don't really love supernatural stories, but the premise itself was very interesting. Maybe I'll get back to it when I have more time.

And I'm not currently watching The reset (too many series airing and too little time 🥲). I want to though. I think I'll binge it when it's fully aired.
Thank you for recommending! I was gonna recommend "Not me" but it seems you've watched it already (excuse me for having a quick look at your profile). I think I'm at a loss when it comes to recommending something to you, so I'll just leave it at this.

it just hit me, the lobbyists could be that old man that sales coffee!!!!!. Though I have always find him suspicious…
Ooooh, very good observation, especially because dramas always need an unobvious bad guy who is known to the viewers! (like, nobod cares if some random dude/woman that we saw for like 1 second was the true mastermind, there's not real element of surprise...). This !!! If you're right, then I applaud you, because I really didn't think of that. I'm curious to know what he would be planning though,... Is he just greedy? Because he does seem to kinda care about his niece and mei and he even told Sun to be careful (of course this could be for his own profit, he might not want Sun to make it more complicated...)

anyway, curious to see how this develops

am i just too desensitised ? the smoking isn't even that bad, yeah he has an addiction but it kinda makes him…
If I'm not wrong they are actually dubbing themselves?... That's what I thought. I know the sometimes have voice actors do the dubbing (dialects and stuff), but I think they're dubbing themselves... I would have to watch the behind the scenes again, but I think it's their own voices. The just record it for "better quality" sound, whatever that means to them. I could be wrong though... (And I don't really like it either)

yeeeah, I thought the same thing... I mean he said "make sure the don't kill him" (or something along those lines),…
I'm just telling myself "innocent till proven guilty", but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth... I can understand your decision/feelings, but up until now I'm enjoying the drama and will try to accept this as a fictional world where I don't have to be as serious.
I mean, if I don't forget in a few weeks I can come back and send you a message to tell you if he ever really does something "unacceptable" (because he IS a bit of a toxic character...)
Well whatever your decision may be, the most important part ist that you're comfortable with it ;)

yeeeah, I thought the same thing... I mean he said "make sure the don't kill him" (or something along those lines), so it indicates that they were "only" beating him up (still not acceptable), but rape can also come with extreme violence so I can't rule it out... I really hope he didn't mean they could "have him" in a sexual way, but they did say they "liked" him... :/
That's the only thing I feel a lil icky about

JiWon is very afraid of ruining JungWoo’s career as a professional basketball player... Homophobia is always…
I see, well then I misunderstood slightly. In your first comment you seemed quite disapproving about Ji Wons actions ("toxic"), so I thought you harboured some dislike towards him... But yes, I feel you! They are adorable and when we get too invested we may react a bit emotionally towards certain behaviour.

I totally see the "I want him to win at life". I really want Jung Woo (and Ji Won) be able to flaunt their relationship and love for each other, they deserve to be out in the open and feel comfortable with their relationship at all times😖❤️.

Also, writing essays and having discussions in the comments is also a fun part of watching dramas, it's so cool to see and share all these different opinions! So I'm happy if I ever see you writing one again ;)

It's disheartening to read some of the comments on here about Jiwon. Yes, this may be a matter of bias and my…
Agree. Also he's not just saying "I don't wanna", but "I want to, but I don't feel ready". He was so scared, thought they would break up, apologized and even cried, like... this is an inner struggle. He wants to be in this relationship, he wants Jung Woo to be happy, but he's struggling with opening up about his sexuality (as a public figure one might note). So yeah, I don't really see any reason to be angry/annoyed at Ji Wons behaviour...

Not sure. I see where you're coming from, but assuming Ji won has a lot of experience with media (compared to Jung Woo) he might know how scandals feel and how it is to be watched by everyone (which he obviously feels uncomfortable about). And yes, you might be right, it could also have to do with the fact that he himself fears the public reaction that he "the national grandson who won a gold medal" will spark a big media reaction that would be challenging for him, but would also affect in Jung Woo. (we need not forget, they are both famous. Being gay is one thing, being it as a public figure is another). I really don't think you can blame him, they've been in a relationship for what feels like a week and you're already writing it off as a bad match. They're both communicating and probably will come out together in the next episodes, it's okay to have to compromise a bit at the beginning of a relationship.
And honestly I feel like he has every right to still feel shy or uncomfortable about coming out, but I personally don't think that means he should immediately shy aways from any kind of relationship, especially if the other party is ready to wait... sooo.

anyway, just my thoughts, if you don't enjoy the series (or simply dislike Ji Won, which you have every right to, I don't like every character in every movie/series) then that's okay and justified.

This episode was only 5minutes for me because i skip every parts of second couple
it's crazy how much our impressions differ. I feel like the main couple isn't, I guess, looking at each other "longingly"? Like they have friend vibes to me. They feel awkward and forced. For example their shyness seems a bit comical to me, not subtle and deep. Idk, maybe that's "married for five years, super comfy with each other, butterflies have worn off, we're a couple I guess" for you, but even so... isn't this supposed to be the beginning where they slowly realise their feelings, get a little confused, shy, uncertain? Like when you're in love and you're not sure how the other one feels you're always a bit on edge, no? That's kind of missing for me. Jade Min (Yun Hyeon Gwon), the young waiter feels the most as though he really has a crush, he giggly, happy, supportive, trying to send out signals ("you can always talk to me" "you looked cold"). He feels the most authentically in love to me. Tae Ha (Jung myeong Choel) isn't quite there yet, I feel like he hast to move on and then we'll get the full chemistry feel.

anyway, this is just my impression, I hope I didn't ramble for too long 🫶
