I applaud that they discourage smoking, but it's honestly kinda funny, because when you think about it it's literally nothing compared to murdering people 😂😂 and they didn't really care about that ʘ‿ʘ

You are right, but the scale is different. No way in hell is Gao Tus lying comparable to Hua Yong's. Also, Gao…
Yes, I know approaching Sheng directly probably wouldn't have worked very well, but Hua Yong simply is an Enigma and rich. In a morally correct world he could have tried winning him over with his personality rather than faking everything. If not, he'll have to lie his whole life, but he can't hide forever. And I don't think the lying will make Sheng happy at all! The series makes it look like Hua Yong had no other option, but maybe he did?

Also, I disagree with you, not all lies are equally bad. If I lie about my health and know I will get better and don't tell my parents so they don't worry: acceptable to me.
If I lie and say a friend of my stole something from me, because I don't like them: not acceptable.
Lies come in many forms, they aren't great, but they are not black and white.

True, true, but as I mention in a comment above, Gao Tu is hurting HIMSELF with his lie, he is literally risking his life! Also he needs a well paying job so he can provide for his sister. He is not lying about is identity only for Shen, and even if he is, he is the one suffering the most.
Hua Yong on the other hand could have approached Sheng directly, but decided that it as a "bad" idea and just lies about everything (his health, finances, identity, ...). Hua Yong is going waaaay further with his lies and he started them himself.
Also, how awkward would it be for Gao Tu to explain in the middle of their friendship (when he realises theyl work together), "well ACTUALLY Im an Omega, I didn't mean to lie to you, my mom said I should be lol". Like, how do you even do that? Well, I don't think it's right to lie in general, I just felt the comparison here was off

Well, I see what you were trying to do, to me it simply seemed to "downplay" Hua Yong's behaviour, because he is doing way worse stuff, but thank you for clarifying your intention.
As to what you're saying, yes, Gao Tu had the opportunity to explain himself, BUT even if he doesn't the only person he is really hurting is himself. He is physically suffering to be close to Shen and not actively making the person he love suffer. And him being a bet coincidentally worked "in his favour" so he could be with Shen. His identity lie had nothing to do with him in the first place, it was simply a good reason to carry on. The case is different for Hua Yong who orchestrates his poverty, identity, health,... ect to manipulate the person he loves to be with him. Trauma is terrible yeah, but he could have approached Sheng directly, his Trauma can only excuse so much...
But yes, in the end this is fictional (I'm just a little frustrated with Hus Yong at this point, it might cloud my judgement ;) )

Just an FYI for the ones calling the first couple toxic... both couples are. Every character from this show is…
You are right, but the scale is different. No way in hell is Gao Tus lying comparable to Hua Yong's. Also, Gao Tu was "forced" to act as a Beta by his mom and has taken it up as his identity. Of course Shen is another reason to continue to act like a Beta, but it isn't the only reason why he is deceiving others.
Hua Yongs whole personality, identity, act, knowledge, literally EVERYTHING is a lie and not only that, he manipulates and plays with people just because he's "in Love", like nah.
problems with both couples? Yes
First is more problematic? Heck yes

Hmmm, I don't know if I'll ever like Hua Yong. A little manipulation, ok, but this feels like too much. I feel like he can't redeem himself, every second word is a lie, purely calculated... I'm very curious about Sheng Shaos reaction when he finds out who Hua Yong is ಠ◡ಠ

Honestly I dislike it no matter who is pushy, man, woman, I don't care, back off if you notice someone looks uncomfortable. I actually found He You Mei behaviour worse than A-Tuos simply because Jun Xi and her aren't even close, she had not reason to get up into his space like that. A-Tuo can be a bit much too, but at least they've been close friends for a long time and probably feel comfortable around each other. I can't really imagine anyone defending He You Meis behaviour, it was obviously too agressive.

i already changed the synopsis from bromance to romance lol. it's time to remove the bromance tag
So it's a confirmed BL?

Tags: Bromance, LGBTQ, Friendship... Um what is it? Cha hak Yeon has had some big roles in Kdramas so I kind of doubt he'd do a vertical "mini" BL series. Bromance maybe, idk, it's confusing to say the least and omg, someone needs to stop vertical series for every genre, they're a horrible viewing experience 😭🥹

Ehh…I delved into this in my comment below, but burdening a platonic relationship with something so serious…
100% it's very heartbreaking to watch Chi Cheng suffer trying to protect his love WSW and WSWs loved one 🥲. This situation IS a dilemma, no question and it's so sad to see Chi Cheng breaking a little, trying to hold everything in place, trying to accommodate all the people he loves. I hope it gets resolved soon (today?!), my heart can't take this for too long... 💜

You are right. It's just that I feel in these circumstances (mother is very surely dying and that is probably happening soon), there aren't a lot of reasons that justify hiding the illness and those that do (the mom doesn't want WSW to worry) don't seem to outweigh the arguments that speak for the opposite (WSW knowing is inevitable, he is deprived of the last months, guilt of not realising,...). In this situation right here I feel like telling is the only right thing to do. If the mom had a chance of survival it would be different, but here no, WSW has a right to know, because it will hurt either way and the loger the mom waits the more the secret will weigh on Chi Cheng and the more guilt WSW will feel for not realising and being there for his mom. I also know they are making these choices for the sake of more conflicts in the drama, but looking at it from a general perspective I would say Chi Cheng should tell WSW. (I see what you're trying to say and this is just my opinion)... ;)

Hmmm, well even IF they're living in some parallel universe where ChiCheng has a reason to believe there is a way to cure pancreatic cancer (which in most cases is deadly, after the diagnosis patients live for about 3 months. 5 years after a diagnosis only 8% are still alive, it's one of THE deadliest cancers!), I still think he has an obligation to tell WSW. I'm sorry to the mom, but why are you depriving your son of the truth? Won't she realise that he will be more hurt if he finds out the diagnosis late and was lied to the whole time? Even if she doesn't want it, WSW would live with the guilt of not knowing and not being by her side in the last months of her life. She's just delaying WSW pain, he'll have to find out soon and CC should either try to tell WSW mother this and convince her to tell WSW or take the initiative and bring WSWs attention to his mom or outright say it. This would also help CC with carrying the burden of this secret, that is too heavy to carry as one person alone.

I see what you're trying to say, but looking at the bigger picture I feel like ChiCheng has to see that "breaking" his promise to the mom is better in the long run...

Agree, and I know it's WSW moms wish for WSW not to know, but pancreatic cancer is deadly and even if it's painful…
i knooow, but Chi Cheng should find some courage and realise that telling WSW is unavoidable and it's better done early, he MUST have realized that, ahh. My heart is just hurting for them both, I need the misunderstanding to end and for WSW to have the chance to spend more time with his mom before she goes 🥹❤️

Agree, and I know it's WSW moms wish for WSW not to know, but pancreatic cancer is deadly and even if it's painful WSW has a right to know and have the opportunity to be with his mom for the last part of her life. I'd be even more hurt to know that I could have had spent more time with my mom and that my partner knew and didn't tell me and kind of deprived me of this opportunity. Even if it's against the moms wishes Chi Cheng should say something, it would be more healing for WSW and better for the relationship... but a drama needs miscommunication I guess 😭😭.
