Nice mystery drama which also has family storyline. I started watching it after a commenter recommended it on…
Some also said that FL is a bad elder sister to her bio brother. And because of her neglect, the brother turned out that way. Uhh... she was suspicious of his timing (and rightly so). Even though she had a bad feeling about him, she still treated him kindly. Also, they were separated, FL didn't know her little brother was still alive. They both went into hardships and their characters were results of life tribulations independently from each other. She is not to blame for how he turned out π

Some comments criticized FL was too unbelievable to be an assassin. Maybe a little bit so, but I think it still makes sense. She was never depicted as a top notch number one assassin. She was a member of a pirate gang, she was never said to be their number one or anything. So it is not too much if she was more skilled than regular guardsmen, but still lost to the goddaughter's henchman. And sometimes we caught her being out of breath too.

I love that the fighting style is very realistic, like in our real world. It is a good change of scenery. Also love the Songpedia at the end of every episode.
The characters are slowly growing on me π₯° some scenes/dialog between ML and FL make my heart melt - very romantic π₯Ήπ₯Ί but it's the kind of romance that people who have been married a long time enjoy
I love Dugu Xiashu's soft features, I also love the guy playing the role. He's so good at it lol... His mannerisms,…
Yeah I like his character too. He's so annoying though in season 1 π albeit he was drugged hence his delirious state. He's more likeable in 2nd season π
I JUST FINISHED THE S2!I only started watching S1 this summer from a recommendation in another drama discussion.…
I love some stories in the drama, I rewatched them several times. E.g.: - the story about the fake sheriff and treasure hunters. - story about coroner Dugu and his coroner family. - a sad one is about Song A Mi, daughter of the sect leader who controls a mythical rhino. - yunding slaves resulting happy ending for the girl dancer who now dances for herself (no longer trapped with her deadbeat husband)
- Yeah Ripe Town is super dark and characterization of the villain is a bit off for me in the end π - I recommend Sleuths of Ming Dynasty as another commenter mentioned. That one is very good... but has more more ups and downs in relationships among the main characters and their friend group. - Another one that is also similar with Strange Tales of Tang is A League of Noblemen.
Finished episode 3. I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be interpreted, but the princess comes off as…
Yeah she is definitely not a subtle political figure πΆβπ«οΈ Her slight aggression and demeanor were also learned from her mother (Empress Wu who ruled the dynasty and depicted as somewhat ruthless).
