People nowadays only seem to care about happy endings, totally disregarding the full story. All they care about…
Hahaha ... Even J-dramas are famous for their sad endings. Yes, and their journeys on this drama are amazing! I guess that's the problem. Some people don't want the dramas to be as realistic as real life are.

I watch C-dramas on TV since I was a little kid. Their sad endings are not a surprise for me. Their happy endings are. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜† Hong Ye realizes his mistake and takes responsibility for it is a happy ending. Where can we find a ruler like him in this world nowadays? Almost none.

And yes, open ending is not a bad ending. It gives us hope and we can create their new journey as free as we want now. I choose episode 32, their wedding night, as a perfect ending for them. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Yea telling people that they should rate a drama high above 8.5 based on the fact you as a fan like it in itself…
Are you talking about me? I'm not even Tan Song Yun or Hou Ming Hao's fan. πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ And I don't like xianxia drama. You need to read my post again. I'm not asking anyone to rate this drama above 8.5. Please watch The Unclouded Soul, and you'll understand. 😊

It's sad to see the rating keep dropping just because of the ending.
Yeah.

Yeah. The only perfect ending for some people is a happy ending. They didn't care about the whole messages and the beauty minds behind the characters' struggles. Meanwhile, the ending is just the small part of the arts.

I’m so sad for this rating. actually should be 8.5
The major plot twist is wonderful, and no one expects it. As a writer, for that one plot twist alone, the story deserves a 9. Moreover, there are lots of meaningful side stories in this drama. The ending is just a little part of it.

8.1 from 8.2. Wow. Just because you can't accept Hong Ye's decision and Bing Zhu's heroism for the sake of humanity, you rate this well-written drama low?? πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ The reviews that rate this drama's story lower than 7.5 are laughable. You make short dramas seem better than Xiao Yao and Hong Ye's story.

Despite the disappointment with the ending, this drama has a well-written script. The writers are smart for taking…
You need to watch episode 35 to understand Hong Ye's fatal mistake. Long Yu explain everything in details. Hong Ye is not only stealing and the pearls that are not suppose to be use, he also manipulates the three great demons to bring the rest and imprison them.

When the memories return, Hong Ye's overwhelmed with guilt in the spring (episode 40). If you follow the drama, you won't surprise Hong Ye will sacrifice himself. He does it since day 1. He takes his responsibility as the King of Demon very seriously.

Xiao Yao even says he pays everything in the fullest, but Hong Ye can't handle the guilt. He's Yu Li Spring founder, so it has to end with him. That's his logic. Of course, there's another way, but he doesn't give Xiao Yao a chance or discuss it with her. That's why he says sorry for not keeping his promise: to share every burden with her.

Rumor about Yu Li Spring won't cause any killings, but after he makes a way to enter it and Xiao Yao destroys the Kun Lun Mirror in pieces, that's when the hunting's started.

The drama focus on Yu Li Spring and the fight between human and demon over it. The other reasons for the fighting and killing are not Hong Ye's responsibility. It's his guilt that driven him to take that path.

My favorite lines in the drama:
Don't be sad. The story's all made up.
~Hong Ye (episode 27) with his sleepy face 😴πŸ₯±

I know some of us react like Xiao Yao after reading a sad story, when reaching the ending of the drama. Let's remember Hong Ye's words to cheer us up.

Since day 1, his goal is to kill all the demons. He hasn't changed it, not even a second. Yes, witnessing a tragedy…
Hahaha ... Well, his sister's dead because of human's greed and his failure in protecting her, but he won't admits it and blames it all to the demons. That logic is enough to understand he will always take human's side, and not the demons.

We love the demons: Hong Ye, Xiao Yao, all the Demons' Village residents. That's why we judge Bing Zhu as antagonist. But if you see his actions from human's perspective, he's a hero for killing all those demons. 😊

Still, he has a human body, not a demon. It's believable if Xiao Yao has the ability to absorb their powers than Bing Zhu.

Hong Ye's fatal mistake is stealing the dragon essence pearls to create a new world (Long Yu's explain and warn him about the pearls power, that's why the powerful dragon guards it [episode 35]), and manipulates the three great demons to bring the rest of the pearls. He even feels guilty when enter the spring and drinks it.

Hong Ye realizes his mistake in episode 40 when he gets all his memories about the past and overwhelmed with guilt. He creates the spring, so he should be the one seal it to stop the endless fighting and killing between human and demon for the sake of Yu Li Spring.
