I enjoy watching this drama, though I haven't watched PA. The flashbacks help me to understand some major scenes in the prequel. I'm glad I start this with no expectation.

Confusion in the first episodes happens while watching other dramas, too. We'll get the whole picture the more episodes we watch. Don't tell me you get clear messages of the major plot and characters since episode 1 in other dramas and series, except Rebirth.

The prequel can't make me stay watching through the first episode, but Rebirth successfully gets my attention through episode 25.

Do you mean King Xi Meng? He wants Zhuge Yue to be his shadow. Many people wants the king dead. So, he needs someone pretends to be him in case the enemies want to kill him.

Well, Zhuge Yue does whatever he wants, that mask king can't control him, even with that deadly poison. He even helps people and joins hand here and there during his mission as King Xi Meng's shadow.

Well, Zhuge Yue told her the half-truth in episode 15, and the other half, Xing Er's eavesdropped her friends' conversation in episode 24. 😁😆 I guess they'll find the cure in episode 26 or 27. I really hope so.

I read you said you watched PA? Zhuge Yue is still Zhuge Yue. He'll always there to help Xing Er. It's not easy to watch their push-and-pull relationship, but they still work together. At some point, they'll talk everything through and resolve the misunderstanding.

Don't worry. Some are good villains. You'll see some mind games in the drama. What I like is how unpredictable the story and characters are, including the leads.

Hi, Friend! Well, then, welcome to another heavy drama. 😁 Yes, this drama has complicated plot and story because the leads fight to abolish slave systems in the kingdoms and create a better world. However, it's fast pace. We don't have enough time to hate some annoying characters because they kill them at unexpected time.

Hi, Friend! Well, I watch this for Li Yun Rui. And fall in love with Zhuge Yue. I'm struggling with its classic tragedy that they have in 80s-90s Chinese TV drama, because those kind of stories usually have a sad ending for the leads.

However, it's interesting because you can't even predict the leads' (Zhuge Yue and Xing Er) next move. You'll have hate and love relationship with them. I hate Zhuge Yue sometimes, but the next episode makes me love him for taking that decision I once despised. 😁

Oh. And the drama won't give you enough time to hate some annoying characters because they kill them like a flash.

Give Rebirth a try. If you don't like it, you can stop anytime. 😊😉

LOL. 🤣🤣🤣 Queen Ling Yue stares at some characters with the same intensity, including Xing Er. Why don't they say she has a crush on her, too? 🙄🥴

I know! I can't believe what I've just read. 😱 And why does Zhuge Yue have to end up with a weak, indecisive woman who keeps threatening him with a knife as if she can beat him? 🙄

You know it's a novel adaptation. Every character has a fixed fate, even the one they'll be ended up with. If the drama changed it, they should mention it was an original script.

Xing Er is young. She has many things to learn, including her own feelings. Zhuge Yue knows that, and gives her space to grow. That's how a mature man with dignity act, not force her like Yan Xun, or beg like Li Ce.

Li Ce was just a friend for Xing Er. He begged for her love, but she rejected him, never gave him a slight of hope. Xing Er might take Zhuge Yue's sacrifice for granted, but she had her main goal: to abolish slave system in Biantang. And Zhuge Yue supported her decision.

I don't understand. Can't a man and a woman be friends anymore? Does every man-and-woman's relationship have to end up in romance and marriage?

Zhuge Yue loves Xing Er. Queen Ling Yue knows that and respects their relationship. Moreover, her husband is alive.

My, the story moves so fast, I like it! They execute event after event quiet well, though I wish they would slow down for a minute. 😅
